About this property

Sunrise, Mountains, 2 bedrooms, Casual Southwest Luxury and lots of art & light!

Everything you need is here in this 2-bedroom private home for your stay of one week or more. Discount for monthly visits. Enjoy amazing views from this light-bathed, clerestory windowed, high ceiling, contemporary art-filled residence. Community pool and hot tub are a brief walk away. Indoor and outdoor dining with a gas grill. Decorated and maintained with love and attention to detail. The house is yours completely while you are here.
Folks who've stayed want to extend, come back or buy our home! You will feel at home here.
Stained glass and clerestory windows let the moon shine through the bedroom, as you relax in the queen-sized bed with down pillows and comforter (alternative bedding can be provided). Walk into the large marble and stone-tiled shower. Hang your clothes in the walk-in closet with built in drawers. Sleeps two.
The second bedroom has a queen bed, and a view of the magnificent saguaro in the front yard.
Soak in the tub/shower combo in the second bathroom next to this bedroom.
Sit on the leather sofa reading, enjoying the warmth and glow from the gas fireplace, the sweeping views or the smart TV. Gather with friends on the comfortable contemporary furniture that includes a dining area surrounded by art, a patio with a gas grill, and a round oak table in the kitchen.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including herbs, spices, and basics like olive & coconut oil, vinegar, and condiments, and of course coffee and tea. For your convenience, we have a dishwasher, microwave, under-sink filtration, ice maker, and all the amenities like blenders, Cuisinart, toaster, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, and an electric tea pot.
Watch the changing cloud formations and light as you work at the desk in the office. There is a large window that overlooks the back patio desert scape and the wash beyond.
There is central heat and air, and an automated irrigation system for the desert-scape that includes an orange tree, saguaros, barrel cactus, bird of paradise, oleander, agaves and sculpture.
Dine on the sheltered back patio, overlooking a wash with changing mountain views. The outdoor lighting supports gathering with family and friends. Enjoy star-gazing at night and yoga on the patio in the morning.
The beautiful old saguaro in the front yard will put you in mind of a John Wayne movie! Front outdoor lighting is on a timer.
There is a three-car electric garage and a parking area right beside the house. I use a portion of the garage for storage, but there's plenty of room for your car.
We are less than a mile from the new 131-mile Tucson bike loop and the Rillito Park walking and biking trail. Glorious hiking is nearby. It is 7 miles to the Pima Canyon Trail that overlooks Tucson, less than 10 miles from Catalina State Park and 7 miles from downtown Tucson. If you like live music, we will leave you a listing of the best bands for jazz and dancing and where they regularly play. The owners are responsive. We are happy to help you get settled, answer your questions and troubleshoot any household problems.

Casa Adobes

Property was neat, clean, and well-maintained. Patio facing the wash was very pleasant and relaxing. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking and was very well-stocked. Owner's art collection was a plus. Some road noise but not an issue in the evening. A very welcoming place to stay.

Great for long stays

We booked Amy's house for our winter getaway, January through March, not knowing very much about the area. What a perfect location, not too far north! Close to biking, hiking, dining and music. A short walk to the grocery store or bike to the loop. The house was clean and fun, perfect for a couple with occasional visitors. Note that this is a streaming TV, no cable. Wifi 100% reliable. Great view of the wash from the large private patio, with mountains and city lights in the distance. Loved the warm pool (heated after 3/1) and usually had the spa to ourselves. This is a pretty and safe little community, and we made several friends amongst the neighbors. Only wish we could stay here next year. Thanks Amy for being such a responsive and friendly host.

Quiet Retreat

Even in the midst of the Pandemic my husband and I sought to retreat from our home in San Diego to this lovely home, made even more interesting by all of the art, books, photos and memorabilia from the owners travels around the world. Fully equipped, we wanted for nothing. The home was furnished comfortably, tastefully and had a welcoming warmth to it. There is no traffic noise, no airplane noise, nothing jarring your peace of mind to be seen out the windows. Lovely views across the flat of Tucson central and beyond to foothills and distant ranges. The sunrise, when we got up that early, was magnificent. We didn't do shops galleries restaurants etc at all...this was a safe retreat and what a perfect home for it!

Phenomenal house, marvelous host

The home is lovely, beautifully appointed, and perfect for our needs. Because of an accident shortly after arriving, our needs changed and entire plan for our eight weeks here changed. Amy was wonderful and supported us in every way. We have stayed in many vacation homes and had lovely hosts in nearly all of them. Amy is right up there at the top. We are so grateful. The home and property are lovely, and we're planning another trip next winter, hopefully accident free. Thank you, Amy.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was conveniently located, easy access and close to dining, hiking, museums and shopping. We cooked many meals in the finely stocked kitchen and dined in view of the warming fireplace. You will also find everything you need in the way of comfortable beds and herbal soaps for the bath or shower. The view is calming and delightful. And our party of four loved the fresh oranges from the patio tree. Amy the owner was extraordinarily accommodating and helpful. Can't really ask for more. Even though we stayed eleven days, we would like to stay longer next time!

5/5 stars

Amy was a fantastic host. The property was beautiful, we enjoyed our stay very much. Any needs we had, Amy took care of immediately. She felt more like a family member to us as rather than a host. If I am ever in Tucson again, Amy and this listing are the first places I will look to. Thanks Amy!

Two weeks inTucson

We very much enjoyed our stay in Amy’s home. The neighborhood is very quiet and her house is pleasingly sited with an open green space in the rear. It is close to shops, restaurants and a nice Sunday Farmers’ Market. We found it well equipped and suited all our cooking needs. Her library is extensive and we especially enjoyed her eclectic collection of paintings and objects d’art.

Unusual to find so much offensive art

This house was not your typical Arizona home. It was somewhat comfortable and the view was lovely. I, personally, thought the kitchen could be better equipped. I have to say we have stayed in vrbo homes many, many times in a lot of different places. Never have I stayed in a place where I was so offended by the art. I'm an artist myself so it is hard to offend me. There seems to be a theme of female genitalia everywhere you look. Female nudes in the bedroom, female sculptures emphasizing female genitalia everywhere you looked in the main room, gross sculpture outside on the patio and in the garden. Seriously? Talking about overkill big time. I honestly don't know how anyone with children of any age could be comfortable with these conditions. My husband and I were not.

Light and Bright in Tucson

My husband and I recently spent 12 delightful days at Amy's property. Warm and bright, with all the comforts of home, it was the perfect "jumping-off point" for our Tuscon (and beyond) wanderings. We especially enjoyed early mornings on the patio, observing the quail, hummingbirds, doves, and other birds visiting the garden. The house had more than we needed for a relaxing stay - well equipped kitchen for making meals, cozy sitting areas with great light for reading, and a comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. The house was filled with interesting world art and a collection of books reflecting the varied interests of the owner, that made it all the more appealing to us. Amy was a text away in case anything was needed. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to others visiting Tucson. Thank you, Amy!

A beautiful and relaxing property with an amazing host

I had an extended stay, 48 nights, so had a great chance to get familiar with the property. I was relocating to the Tucson area and this property provided excellent temporary living quarters. The owner was great to work with. She hit all the notes, a well-organized introduction prior to my arrival and quick follow up with any of my questions. Her provided notes and local suggestions ensured my smooth transition. The home itself was an absolute joy. Both the inside sitting areas and outside patio are tastefully appointed making it very relaxing. I very much enjoyed the office area which looks out across the back patio and into morning sunrises. The high-speed internet allowed me to stay productive as well as keep in touch with family back east. The owner was kind enough to set up a guest account on the house computer. A full kitchen with all the cooking needs and a full washer and dryer made my long term stay very enjoyable. I would highly recommend staying, the owner was top notch in providing services and offers up a beautiful property.
