Excellent property, great location

Very roomy house with great access to Zion National Park and surrounding area. We loved the quaint features in the home and were able to cook our family Thanksgiving there and eat in the roomy dining room. The house is sparkling fresh and clean, super comfy beds, and all the amenities that you might need!

Comfortable Historic Home near Zion

A group of friends stayed in this charming cottage while exploring Zion, Cedar Breaks and Snow Canyon. The house has everything we needed to relax, cook, do laundry on our Utah Vacation. Hurricane has good restaurants and services but Springdale is much closer to Zion and more upscale. We got a great house for the price but did a lot of driving. I’m happy with our choice and would stay again, especially with a large family.

Family vacay

Everything was as it was advertised. Nice to have washer and dryer. Games were nice. Everything decorated nicely. I did bring my 80 yr old mother. We stayed in bedroom downstairs Bath downstairs has cool old tub but didn’t really work for someone not able to lift legs high and not really able to do steps to go to second floor. Not really owners problem but I was trying to make sure we were in accessible areas. She did make waffles one morning. Fun. But no eggs lol. They turned out ok any way ha 😃

Cutest Property Ever

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this house. It is even cuter than the pictures and it was perfect for bringing a family. They had toys for the kids and a big yard to play in. We went to two state parks that were only 10-15 minutes away and had a blast. I have nothing but good things to say about this place, our experience, and the owners. We will most definitely be back!

Spring break

Charming property and home. The home had great indoor and outdoor spaces to hang and catch up with our family. Excellent array of toys for the kids to play. Kitchen was well stocked. The only reason I gave it four stars was we found the beds too soft for our liking.

Clean and well equipped. Great outdoor spaces

House was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with kitchen utensils, pots & pans, sharp knives, plates, spices, coffee, and bath supplies. The back patio and front yard both had comfy seating areas. Convenient location for mtn. bike trails.

Well-stocked, cozy home

This home was very cozy. Lots of nice interior decorative touches such as art, pictures, curtains, room colors, books, and games. There were many conveniences such as Kuereg coffee pods, teas, spices, aluminum foil, cooking oils, etc. It felt like the owner thought through everything that would make our stay a great experience. I would definitely stay there again.

Adorable and comfortable house accessible to Zion and Bryce Canyon

I took a group of 6, including teens and seniors on a National Park trip and was so fortunate to find Yeller’s House. April has thought of all the little things that make it easy to move in and feel instantly at home. From the well-appointed kitchen where all the colors match to the set of board games and the available streaming services on the TVs, our family settled in quickly, and we’re able to focus on our parks visits. Only 30 minutes to Zion and 2 hours to Bryce. Plus the towns of Hurricane and St George have everything you need from Costco’s to Cracker Barrel. Definitely recommend this home!

Lovely stay

It was such a comfortable house that really felt like a home. It felt like going to grandma's house, in the best way possible. Quirky and comfortable and perfect for our group. Our kids collected nuts from the trees in the yard and played hide-and-seek in the big yard at dusk. It was a great home base for exploring Zion and Sand Hollow. Would recommend to friends (and have!).

Convenient and affordable stay for Zion, Bryce, North Rim Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas in 3 days.

This was our fourth visit to Utah in the last 3 years. We were trying to maximize the efficiency by looking for a warm, welcome, affordable, and convenient home to spend our time together. Thanks to the home's owner and VRBO that plan was feasible and achievable. We have enjoyed our trip and staying at this home was among the succesful key. This time we left a graduation event from California, driving to Las Vegas for free shows on the strip, taking pictures, streching legs, and refilled gas tank. The house is independently located at a corner so when we were there at midnight there were no issues at all with all clear instructions provided. All supplies were provided so we took bath and slept for early morning drive to Zion. The owner thoughtfully gave us peace of mind by providing extra security latches from the inside doors for a good sleep. Zion has a lot of walking trails so be there early is a key to avoid crowds and waiting time on busses. Last 2 times with Zion we stayed 1.5 hours away so when we came to the entrance we could not park inside the park. It costs about $30 to park outside the park, waiting about 20-30 to get on bus/outside/Springdale. This time our parking spot was a few walks from the inside park bus stop because we were able to get here from the house within less than 30 minutes. We stoped by Fort Virgin on Hwy 9 for pictures. There were a lot of water on river trail (this trail is really beautiful and is must to visit during lower water) thus we used the saving time of 2 hours on the trail to drive through Zion park and 3 tunnels (1 long and 2 short) to Bryce Canyon. Summer/ end of spring has long daytime that we can enjoy so we came back vacation home late at night. Hurricane is minutes from I-15 so driving is very convenient and saving time. We drove to Grand Canyon North Rim the next day, through Las Vegas and back to California. If you have enough energy then you can go through the Death Valley for a few extra hours rather than hitting heavy traffic in Sunday evening. You will not want to miss 2 mountainous scenic drive sections, one is within the Zion park to Bryce Canyon and another one on I-15, about North of Nevada/Arizona borders with Utah (check Google for specific sections. They are speechless among the best of 40 plus US states I have driven through. The North Rim was snowing unexpectedly when we drove up there. We enjoyed the snow and taking pictures. Thank you April and VRBO.

Lovely home with so many thoughtful touches!

We had a wonderful stay in this home, and April was very helpful and accommodating. The house is completely charming and beautifully decorated, and there are so many little amenities that saved us from needing to buy extra little items (shampoo, lotion, kitchen items like aluminum foil and sandwich bags, paper plates, freezer packs, etc). We used the washer and dryer, and they worked great (so handy!). Plenty of cooking utensils, appliances and pots/pans for making meals at the house. The nightlights were so handy for getting around at night in an unfamiliar place. The carport was great for unloading our vehicle if it rained, and the porches are so nice for hanging out when the weather is nice out. Internet was great, and allowed us to watch streaming video on the TV. I could go on and on about all the little details that made our stay so comfortable and pleasant. Thank you, April, for everything! I hope we have the chance to return someday.

Darling home and gardens

We loved using this rental as a home away from home! The house is remodeled beautifully with character and is so homey! We easily slept 7 people. The gardens are a delight-we had a fun Easter egg hunt around the yard. April was a great hostess and even helped us find the Three Falls hike within walking distance. The home is close to stores, restaurants and gas stations but has an in-the-country feel. The master bed’s mattress is the best I’ve ever slept on!

Wonderful house in a surreal setting

I stayed here for 10 days in late March and had a wonderful trip. The house was clean, warm, and had everything we needed for a lovely trip. April is a wonderful, gracious host. Super responsive but not at all invasive. I really appreciated the attention to detail, with power strips in places where the plugs were inconvenient, adequate cleaning supplies for an extended stay, etc. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for a getaway around Southern Utah. The location is perfect for climbing, hiking, mountain biking, etc.

Perfect family vacation home

We hit the jackpot with this beautiful vacation home! It is totally renovated, immaculately clean and in a fabulous location for exploring Zion National Park. There is a terrific little restaurant 900ft from the house where we had dinner and breakfast and a spectacular hike where you can hunt for fossils close by. Our kids loved the board games and books that are available. Would highly recommend!

About the host

This is Yeller. While we lived in and remodeled the home, Yeller loved sitting out on the front lawn, greeting everyone as they walked by. It's funny, when you live in a historic home, everyone you meet calls it something else..."this is April, she lives in the Wilson House" Or "Oh, you live in the Hinton House". at some point, I wanted it to be my house, or even better.....Yeller's House. :) and so here he is, in all of his regal-ness. and so it is now called "Yeller's House".

Why they chose this property

This property is so charming, unique and fun! It really is like going to Grandma's you were lucky enough to have such a place. We have made every effort to make things comfortable. Please come and make yourselves at home. Walk to town center, eat at the Main Street Cafe or River Rock Roasting Co. Enjoy the small town atmosphere and peaceful days and nights in our cozy home.

What makes this property unique

We are originally from Southern Utah and lived in Springdale for 12 years. My 3 sons enjoy canyoneering in Zion National Park and have been guides as well. We know this town inside and out. If you have any questions, we hopefully have answers. Please feel free to contact me with all of your travel needs.
