My husband, 3 adult daughters, and their families stayed in this lovely home for over a week. The house was beautifully furnished, the amenities were just what we were looking for, and the entire family LOVED the pool. The space accommodated all 12 of us (7 adults and 5 children under 10) nicely. We felt close, but never cramped. Our ONLY complaint was the pool patio area. The pool is surrounded by paving stones rather than poured concrete. The stones have a tendency to pop up unevenly when water from the pool splashes out and puddles. The dry pavers were fine and caused no issues, but the ones directly beside the pool "floated" up creating a hazard. While I was walking across the pool area, I struck my toe on one of the up-ended pavers and broke it. One of my daughters is a nurse and was able to treat it and help me avoid seeking medical treatment, but I would hate to see it happen to anyone else-ESPECIALLY a child. That said, the pool was very nice; it was large enough for everyone to spread out and for the kids to play and was shallow enough for them to stand in more than half of it. The washer and dryer are front loader, high-efficiency models. The dryer did display an error message seeming to indicate there was a blockage in the drain. We were able to notify the owner quickly who arranged for a repair person to service the machine the following day. We had no issues after that. The dock just beyond the screened in pool was nice as well. My husband, sons-in-law, and grandchildren fished from the dock several times. One day, my daughter and her husband rented a boat; they were able to dock it here while they picked up some of the family and grabbed lunch. We were also fortunate enough to see 3 manatee in the canals one evening!
Here are a few pointers for future renters:
Front bedroom (by the front door): King bed, full bath (shower only) - this bedroom gets a lot of morning sun. The half-circle windows above the traditional windows lack any sort of shade. Put your early risers here.
Master bedroom (behind the front bedroom): King bed, full bath (soaker tub and shower), sitting area with sofa bed, pool access via sliding door. This room stays dark pretty late into the day. Very large, may be suitable for a family with young kids sleeping in the room.
Jack and Jill Suite: 2 twins in each room (4 total), full bath (shower only), double sinks. These rooms stay fairly dark throughout the day as well thanks in part to the blinds. We noticed these rooms were cooler than the other bedrooms. In addition to each room having a door, there is a pocket door to close off the entire suite.
Back bedroom (behind the Jack and Jill suite): King bed, full bath (shower only), pool access via door in the bathroom. This room stays very dark and due to its distance from the living room and pool, stays pretty quiet, also has a fireplace.
Kitchen: Fully equipped (pots/pans, flatware, dinnerware, etc.), in addition to standard kitchen appliances, there is also a warming drawer. 4 bar stools along the back kitchen counter, 6 bar stools around the large kitchen island.
Bar area: Wine fridge, Keurig, barware, stemware, 2 bar stools along the counter, small pool table.
Pool area: L-shaped pool, 3 ft by stair entrance, 2-person submerged seating area adjacent, closer to 4 ft by the bend, drops to maybe 8ft by the other side, 3-person submerged seating area along the deeper section. Waterfall at the bend, circular jacuzzi tub slightly elevated overlooking the 3ft pool area with a waterfall into the pool. Power for the jacuzzi jets is a white circular push-button on the brick surrounding the tub along the back near the lanai. Three (3) different seating areas around the pool: 2 person bistro table outside the master bedroom sliding door, large 8-10 person table under cover, slightly elevated over the pool patio, 4 person table under the lanai overlooking the deep end of the pool.
