We had a wonderful stay for Christmas! The house was clean. The beds including Murphy bed are comfortable and there is a large wonderful couch that fit all of us for hanging out Christmas morning and playing games in the evening. Deer loved the lawn next us and a great blue heron visited on the other side. The rocky beach is beautiful and less than a 5 minute walk. We would definitely stay here again!
Close to beach and Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. Spacious. Stove is traditional style gas burner with plenty of cooking space. Stocked with sugar, coffee, and key spices. Local mule deer camp out in open yard, grazing on forbs. Nice cleaning staff, very helpful.
Great space, new bedroom furniture, coffee maker as well as keurig, living room/TV area large and comfortable. Walk to beach is close ( down the street and make a left, it required us to ask residents how to get to beach. The listing shows that it sleeps 7, but you should be aware that they charge $25/person/night for any people over 2. The only other issue was that you can’t control the heater/ac and it was a bit cold in the morning.
We would definitely stay again.
Light and spacious home located close to the ocean
The main floor of this home has an abundance of windows . The location is quiet. It was a great home base for exploring the area. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is up to date with lots of equipment for cooking and dining.. The two full baths and half bath were very convenient.
So comfortable and clean. Kitchen is well stocked with supplies and highly organized. The master bed has a pillow top (I think) that provided for a restful sleep. Nice patio area to sit and read or eat. My husband also enjoyed their very large TV! Not only would we be willing to stay here again but we would shift dates around just so we could stay here again.
Simple to book/check-in. Will come again if we come this way. Thank you

Didn't feel like a vacation - don't remt
Not a vacation, rules were ridiculous. In addition to loading dishwasher had to do all dishes, had to handwash pots, pans, etc that didn't fit in dishwasher. Had to put out the garbage cans from the back of the yard all the way to the front ( we are ate not here to take care of your duties), false advertising about 2 full beds ( only one- the teens were pissed one had to share a bed, they left an inflable bed in the closet, it had holes in it and deflated through the night ), rule book stated they monitored you on the Ring !!! , friends are not allowed over for dinner.... Really?!?... They even count every cup, glass, plate, tupperware, salad... What the !?!!
It was pathetic. Dont rent unless you want to monitored by the state.
Im not there to take out your garbage.
Do it yourself.
We celebrated my mother’s 80th birthday this Memorial Day weekend in Cambria. Rented this lovely home and 3 others nearby for our extended family. This property is as advertised. Great location and very comfortable. Check-in/check-out was smooth and Christy was responsive to any questions we had. You will enjoy your stay here too!
This was an ideal property for four seniors to stay in while attending a lawn bowl tournament in Cambria.
Plenty of parking, very clean home and lots of room to spread out in.
We were greeted by two young deer and a gaggle of wild turkeys - loved the natural surroundings and so close to the ocean.
Second time working with Christy and she is easy to communicate with. Will definitely stay there again.
This home is located 2 blocks from the beach and 5 blocks from the Preserve. Great for our hiking family. We were treated to deer and herons in the yard, plus a tree that was regularly the resting place for beautiful monarch butterflies and yellow bumble bees. I do recommend you thoroughly re-read the rental agreement the day before you go as there are key directions (particularly concerning check-in and the spotty Internet service in Cambria). The problems getting in were mostly me. Christy was very responsive once we drove back to town and could get reception. Very gracious host.
We loved our time at Marine Terrace! It was clean, quiet, located with easy access to all the best aspects of Cambria...downtown is just over the hill, access to Fiscalini Ranch just steps away (2 short blocks), ocean access is just as close. The host was friendly and responsive and eager to accomodate our needs whenever she could.
I went with my friend. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The area and scenary is beautiful. The beach is in walking distance. The neighbors are very friendly. One aspect that really impressed me was when I forgot my friends Elephant stuffed animal, which was everything to my friend. Christy went above and beyond to search for it and remain in communication with me during that time. I would highly recommend.
Home was beautiful and kitchen well stocked for dinnersy. There were some minor issues with the home which we notified property manager about and she was very responsive. Neighborhood was quiet and very nice walking to the coast. Enjoyed our visit!
The house itself is clean and tidy inside. However, the outside grounds are deplorable. It's all dirt. The VRBO listing prominently shows a pathway to the beach that is at least 200 yards away. I didn't read the fine print like I should have because I have never had a VRBO listing so misrepresented.
Even though the listing carefully does not list a fireplace one is prominently featured in several pictures. It is a fireplace façade where the owner went so far as to put a nonworking switch on the wall that might lead one to believe the fireplace worked.
There is no ocean view from anywhere in the house. The view from the deck is of the plain dirt landscaping. The neighbors across the street must be appalled by their view.
Rather that replace the couch with its broken springs, the solution was to put a plywood board under the cushions. The master king bed was so soft that the fitted sheets came undone the moment any weight was put on the bed. The temp was set at 57 degrees with no ability to change it since the thermostat was locked. The entry instructions with lockbox, etc. are terribly outdated as there is simply a combination lock on the front door and the owner or property manager texted us the four digit code. As we were the tenants on Thursday evening it was our job to take the trash cans to the street and bring them back the next day. Apparently the owner or property manager is nowhere near the premises. Unless you are driving an SUV I can guarantee your car will bottom out on the steep driveway. The shower head in the master bath is permanently positioned so the water will hit a sort person in the face. The shower itself is too small to move out of the way. As others have mentioned, the TV is at an odd angle for viewing from the couch. It should have been placed where the faux fireplace is. The icemaker in the refrigerator works fine but the door dispenser is set to crushed ice with no way to change the setting. It would be a nice touch if the housekeeping crew emptied the ice cube holder when cleaning the house so that the next tenant would not be greeted by a block of melted and refrozen ice.
There are positives. The selection of glassware and plates is good. Good directions on how to use the TV and lots of DVDs to choose from. There are several tasteful decorator pieces throughout the house. All in all, a very disappointing stay and I feel I was duped by the listing. Shame on you, VRBO!
We truly enjoyed our stay. It was clean, great lay out, close to the beach, close to the trail bluff, and very quiet neighborhood. We would stay again.
We enjoyed the light airy home. The ocean was close with wonderful hiking trails as well as enjoying the beach. The kitchen was well stocked. Cambria was close, driving, and fun to investigate. The wild life, deer and birds made for enjoying the small porch. Check into the house was different than stated. It seemed the heating was preset and locked so we could not change it. These two things are why 4 stars. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
Great location and accommodations for a family vacation at the beach.

Ocean stay
We really enjoyed a long, lazy weekend in this Cambria house. The house was clean, fairly well appointed, and comfortably housed us all.
Cambria itself is a quiet town, along a beautiful, rugged coastline. We enjoyed walking down to the pebbled beach each morning . Our July visit was generally cool and overcast most of the day. Busier, sandy beaches and a seal rookery are short drives away. The downtown area is cute, though we did not linger there much.
Unfortunately for us, our trip was spoiled by a series of text messages from the house owner/manager a few hours after we checked out, which included "Call me you destroyed my home!!!" and a preliminary bill for $5000 for damage, theft and (one assumes) destroying the house. We were still in Cambria and agreed to return to the house to understand the problem. The issues raised to us where:
1) Damaged fridge: The owner accused us of damaging the brand new fridge to the point of requiring replacement. The damage she pointed to was a number (5? )of barely perceived indentations on the door. We could not see these without getting the light just right. We have no reason to believe we were responsible for any of these "dents". There was also a chip on the dishwasher the owner pointed out. We have no way to prove if that existed before we arrived.
2) Theft: The owner initially thought that we had stolen her kitchen knives. We obviously had not, which she had since realized. We had washed the knives and left them to dry rather than putting them back in the knife block. The owner was upset that we had not placed every kitchen tool exactly as found.
3) State of mess: We had missed/neglected cleaning up spilt oatmeal on the stove. We had also not scrubbed the sink clean. There was probably some amount of sand on the floor. We had not replaced all the dining chairs at the table (we had moved them to do a partial sweep) and we had left DVDs mis-stacked. THe owner pointed to these as irreconcilable messes and mistreatment of her home and requiring "excessive cleaning" charges. We had followed all of the listed house rules regarding clean out (trash, etc) and left the house as we would any rental, knowing that we had paid a cleaning fee already.
Quibbles from our visit. As other reviewers noted, there is no access to laundry despite it being listed on the post. This shouldn't be ambiguous or "corrected" in the house rules. The water/ice maker on the "brand new" fridge
