Fabulous time in a wonderful home

We could not ask for a better property and location for our family vacation. There are 19 of us and we were very comfortable in this home. Plenty of room to share time together... And ... Find a spot for personal quiet time as well.

Friends and family vacay!!

House was big enough for all of us! great location! short walk to the beach. the pool is a good size for everyone. house and shed was stocked up on everything you needed. only downsides were the AC unit didn't really work on the 2nd floor and some of the railings outside on the decks were loose. The portable ac units through out the house came in handy .. we used them on the 2nd floor at night for the kids.

A perfect vacation house

Everything about the house exceeded our expectations. The home, pool & hot tub were immaculate. It was just a few minutes walk to either the oceanfront or the gym w/indoor pool. We highly recommend this rental for any large group.

Footprints

The property was very nice we enjoyed the arrangement of the living room, dining room and kitchen. The sun porch was very comfortable. We spent a lot of time there. The one thing that bothered me was all the steps. I am 89 years old and the steps were hard especially the second week we had a wonderful time in Footprints. Thanks

Very nice accommodations for our large family. Everything was as advertised and had exceptional cooperation with owner who was friendly, helpful and prompt in responding to questions we had. Would stay here again!

Great location

Great house, great location. A very short walk to the beach or clubhouse. Beautiful community. The kids were able to go ahead on their own. Such a beautiful town with lots of shops & things to do. The house was great. More than enough room for our group to spread out. Contact with owner was easy & very helpful with any questions we had. Would definitely recommend to any families who would like to vacation in the Outer Banks

Was perfect for are family vacation. Very spacious, wonderful pool, nice hot tub, great neighborhood and easy access to the beach. We enjoyed the HOA recreation center. The home was well supplied with dishes, cookware, pool supplies and so on. Shops and activities close by ( most able to walk or ride bike to). Made for a awesome vacation.

Everyone loved this house! So much room and space for everyone. So many decks and easy access to all the decks. The Crows nest is amazing! Short walk to the beach and the rec center. Kitchen and dinning area wonderful for family meals and card games. We vacation every couple years and we hope to rent this house again.

Great location, okay house.

The location of Footprints is fantastic!! The beach is a short, easy stroll through the neighborhood and the beach wasn't too crowded. Shops and restaurants were an easy walk, as well. The positives on the house: ample space for a huge group (10 adults and 10 children) without feeling crowded, ample bathrooms for a huge group, plenty of service ware, large backyard, nice pool and hot tub, beautiful view from the rooftop deck, and beach chairs and sand toys in the shed. The negatives about the house: insufficient a/c units with the addition after they added square footage to the house (the only floor that stayed cool and comfortable was the bottom floor; the other two floors stayed in the upper 70s to low 80s), black mold in several of the bathrooms, one broken microwave, one broken ice maker, a couple of significant leaks in the ceiling, initial entrance into the home (neither key from the lockbox worked any door; luckily the cleaning crew were still there to let us in to retrieve the other keys), and the skillets/cookware (quite an effort to clean them from the diminished teflon).

Footprints provides every thing you could want or need. Clean, beautiful house, my family loves the screen porch, we sit out there every morning for coffee and conversation before setting out for our day! Thank you Wade and Sue for another great vacation!

Footprints was perfect for our large family!

Our family of 12 (8 adults, 4 children) had a perfect week at Footprints! We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoyed all of the amenities at the house as well as the community amenities. The pool at the house was fabulous, clean, and well-kept as was the hot tub. We spent many long hours at the pool (especially while children were napping) and enjoyed nightly family dinners in the amazing open kitchen/dining area. Having two of nearly every appliance helped make it super easy to prepare and clean up after meals. The big tables were also great for family game nights after the kiddos went to bed. The pool at the beach was a family favorite and great for "undecided" swimming. We accessed the raquetball court, playground, game room, fitness room, and outdoor pools at the community center. All in all, a perfect week in Duck! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We'll be back!

Nice house with a few issues

The house was a good size, and great proximity to the beach. However there was water leakage issues that lead to mildew and mold. And the AC unit for the third floor broke on the second day, leading to an uncomfortable situation for the week.

Poor communication with the owner and several things not working

The location is great and the house is nice, but the communication with the owner was less than desirable. When we arrived we found out one of the dishwashers didn't work, the cleaning people did a subpar job (I will spare all of the details), the grill didn't work, etc. I reached out to the owner. He didn't call back for another day. He was not willing to do anything for the cleaning. He asked us to go find a part to fix the grill. On the last day we were there someone showed up to look at the dishwasher and washing machine. The dishwasher will hopefully be fixed for the next guests. He was slow to respond and basically said sorry but nothing else. I also reached out about our deposit getting returned and he slowly responded about that. He said it would go out on a Monday and then when I had still not seen the check he said it went out on a Tuesday. I think a phone call, an offer to refund a little bit of money for cleaning (we asked for this and he never responded about it), or a little hand written note would have gone a long way--instead of days of waiting around for him to return calls or texts and then very abrupt and unfriendly responses. We will not be returning. Again, the location and house were nice, but the experience with the owner was less than desirable.

Great Getaway!

This was our second stay at footprints. Our family of 19 were very pleased. The house has everything you need from pots, pans, dinnerware to pool toys and beach chairs. Only a very short walk to the beach and I noticed this time, our house had the highest and best shipswatch view, you could sit up there in the evening and hear the ocean, loved it. So close to the little town of duck and all the shops, We can't wait to go back!

Amazing family rental in Duck, NC!

My family and I (17 people total) stayed at footprints and we couldn't have been happier!!! The home is large and spacious. 8 bed, 8 1/2 baths made it possible for everyone to be relaxed and comfortable the entire time! All of the outdoor living space is amazing! Multiple decks on each level, large backyard with amazing pool. The kitchen was great! Made preparing dinners for everyone a breeze! Plenty of seating for eating or just kicking back and watching tv. The home is located in a community (schooner ridge) and as a guest you have access to all of the rec facilities. The ocean front pool was our favorite! The rec center also has an outdoor pool, playground, tennis, indoor pool, game room, and fitness center! It was great having access to this! The beach was never overly crowded, plenty of room to sprawl out. We are really very pleased with our decision to rent this home and look forward to renting it again. The entire process was seamless when working out the lease details with Wade and Sue. Can't say enough good things about them! Two thumbs up, for sure!

Amazing vacation home!

Our stay at Footprints in Duck, NC was the best vacation our family has ever had! This home has everything, the pool and hot tub are very nice and right out the back door with a cool sound system going outside so you can chill and listen to your tunes. You don't need to take anything, right down to the sand toys, boogie boards, and beach chairs. All the kitchen supplies you could imagine, even a crockpot! The 2 dishwashers sure made clean up easy and more time for the beach. We had 18 people in this home and it was so comfortable plenty of room for everyone. Just a very short walk to the beach, but there is a wagon there for you to pull all your supplies. Very close to the cute little town of Duck, where you can do everything from shopping to parasailing. Everyone is so friendly in this area as well, nothing but smiling faces for a week :) We loved this so much we are giving up a trip to Disney World to return to Footprints for our family vacation next year, we can't wait to go back!

What more could you want ??

Footprints has it all...we had a family reunion - 15 of us - and this home still felt roomy! With 3 king masters and 3 queen masters - everyone felt comfortable. There are two ice makers, two refrigerators, two coffee pots, two kitchen tables...you get the idea! The owners have thought of everything so you can relax and enjoy your stay. The pool is large and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. We LOVED the crow's nest up top and enjoyed cocktail hour at sunset most every night. Short stroll to the beach or to the shops and restaurants in Duck. Stop in at the Riverside Grille at dark to enjoy outdoor drinks and cornhole. Wave Pizza is a good place to eat and watch the sunset too. Very large, clean home with all you need for a perfect vacation!

Aren't Repeat Customers the Best Commentary???

Our next stay at Footprints will be our 3rd and my family starts planning the next trip on our way back to PA. 8 Adults and 5 children this year expanding to 7 next year and Footprints will remain perfect. Footprints is exactly as it is presented in the listing and never disappoints. Footprints location in Schooner Ridge only adds to its appeal. Far and away the best feature of Footprints is the owner/customer relationship. Great customer service and you feel like you belong!

"Footprints" Couldn't get any better!!

This house was absolutely perfect for our family reunion in Duck. We have never stayed at a place that had so many amenities. It is obvious that the owners went out of their way to think of anything anyone would need while staying there. Bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect, kitchen and living areas were spacious, so much room to spread out. The two ice makers, two stoves, 2 refrigerators,2 dishwashers made things so easy. I have never seen a kitchen so well stocked!!! The kids & adults loved the pool at the end of the day as we prepared dinner. It was an easy walk to the beach, which was made even easier with the 2 seated wagon that was in the shed, with beach chairs and pool & beach toys. This house is perfect for families or large group of adults. We would definitely recommend "Footprints" to anyone wanting a carefree vacation with all the comforts of home. Great Vacation at Footprints

Our family had a great time at Footprints in Schooner Ridge. Your house met all of our needs. It was spacious, yet cozy. It was large enough for us to have plenty of room to spread out, and it still had little nooks and crannies for privacy if we needed a break. All of the bedrooms were comfortable, and the gathering spaces were welcoming. The pool and the hot tub were a hit with everyone, young and old. We loved Schooner Ridge and its close proximity to the Ocean and the Town of Duck. Schooner Ridge is a nice neighborhood to take a walk or go bike riding. It is quiet and relaxing, yet close to the center of town and all of the activities there. The pool at the beach was a nice addition for little ones (adults also) to take a break from the surf and sand. Also, there was plenty of parking for our vehicles at Footprints, which we noticed that some homes did not have. Would highly recommend Footprints for multi-generational families. Thanks again to the owner Wade for great customer service in making our vacation to Duck a wonderful experience.

Wonderful vacation at Footprints!

Our family just spent a wonderful week at Footprints! The home was as beautiful and clean as the photos. The three levels with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms kept us from crowding each other. We enjoyed both cooking here in the well stocked kitchen and eating at some of the restaurants that were within easy walking distance in Duck. The boardwalk was enjoyable as well and afforded great opportunities to see wildlife such as otters, turtles, crabs and even deer! The grandkids loved the pool, both here and at the beach, as well as the games at the rec center. We also had a great time hunting for ghost crabs at night! One of my favorite spots in the evening was the crows nest. The view and the stars were incredible. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better spot to enjoy some family time! I would highly recommend this house to multi-generational family groups!

Wonderful family vacation!

My sisters and I and our spouses stayed at Footprints along with two of my adult granddaughters. We arrived to a clean, well located house. Everything we needed was at the house and we had a wonderful week. Plenty of room for all of us! The owner, Wade even called to make sure everything was OK. Really liked the personal touch! My youngest son was getting married in Duck so the location was just perfect for all of us. Close to restaurants! Highly recommend this house if you have a large family and enjoy lots of space! Everything in the description of this property is very accurate!

Marvelous Family Vacation at Footprints"

Our family spent the week of July 19, 2014 for our annual summer, family vacation at "Footprints". What a marvelous place to have a grand family vacation. The home is simply spectacular and well appointed. We had 6 adults and 6 kids and never felt crowed whatsoever. The upper level, open concept living/eating/kitchen area was just perfect. It was only a short walk to the beach (less than 5 minutes) and the home had a beautiful swimming pool in the backyard as well as a nice hot tub on the first deck. The community was safe and secure, clean and well maintained. Everyone had a wonderful time. If you are looking for a "rowdy" vacation spot, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a marvelous spacious home, safe, secure, and private for spending a family-oriented vacation, don't look anywhere else. Footprints met and exceeded our expectations. On a side note, the driveway was certainly large enough for our 6 cars and no parking problems whatsoever. All of the pictures that are posted on this site accurately portray the Footprints" home.
