We arrived and checked in with no issues after getting some communication from the host. Place was clean and spacious. It was a bit cold and discovered the thermostat needed battery replacement so the host was kind enough to come by and take care of that for us. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well supplied. Only complaint is the cushions on the couch in the main living room kept sliding off when we sat there to watch TV because there was a hard wood board underneath it to protect the pullout bed but I already mentioned this to the host and hopefully they provide a better option. We enjoyed a nice 10-15min walk to the beach through the neighborhood which was very lovely and relaxing. It was a beautiful day to stroll around the beach. Home is a short driving distance to the downtown area which has some restaurants and shops. About 30min to Mystic and 50min to New Haven.
This house was super cute! The property was clean and in a nice neighborhood. A small park down a few houses for kids.
I didnt think we wanted to use the beach pass offered for a refundable fee, dont be me and say no... we took a drive to see the private beach and i wished i would have paid.!
Definitely going to stay here again
We only stayed for one night for an event that we were participating in. The place was clean but smelled a little musty. Turning on the AC helped. We were overall happy with the place.
We had a great time staying at this house. It’s a great location and nice neighborhood. Yes you can walk to the beach but it is hilly and we wouldn’t have made it with our beach stuff lol. There were plenty of parking options and we did walk to beach at night. The only thing we would have liked was if there was a gas grill as we enjoy grilling all summer long.
The house was perfect for our family. We loved the private beach.

Misleading listing
I booked this for a little getaway for my 40th birthday. The renter was accommodating for an early check in as they did not have anyone there prior. That was the only good part. This property was listed as an entire house. When we arrived, we noticed a car on the left side of the house. I immediately messed him to inquire, to which he told me it is a shared location. I told him that was completely misleading as it is listed as an entire house. And nowhere in the description did it mention that. Turns out, it is an in law separated by a locked door! No private at all! We could hear every little thing, not because they were loud but because it was separated by a door. I wanted privacy which is why we didn’t rent a hotel! Could not even enjoy the outside patio as you could see them on theirs only a few feet away. And to invade or privacy more, he came by during the day to mow the lawn while we trying to enjoy our time outside. Also in the listing was a washer and dryer. I always travel with my own sheets and towels but because they had laundry I did not think I had to. Come to find out, there is a fee to use it! Also not mentioned in the listing. The air quality in the place was awful, it smelled like mold. we found mouse droppings in the kitchen, which he knows about as there is also mouse traps! I am highly allergic and had such breathing problems I had to stay somewhere else the last night. The light in the second bedroom didn’t work, so that guest didnt stay. Bathroom dirty.
Overall enjoyed the location while visiting family in the area. It did seem like the walk to the beach was further than advertised (and much hillier). I was glad I asked if there was an option to borrow a parking pass for the neighborhood beach since it would have been hard to walk with our kids. It did seem like for the price I would have expected some improvements (upgraded towels, sheets) and the bathtub looked like a bit old/ dirty. And a bigger kitchen trash can would have been nice.
The property is close to the highway and a quick walk to the beach. The check-in and out process was seamless. Would stay here again!

Not so good
I ll start with the property owner was very good at communication and did refund the cleaning fee.
The rental was not clean at all. Way to much to list on that . Grass wasn’t cut. This rental is one side of a ranch house. You can hear every conversation from the other side like they were in the room with you . We were there just for a place to sleep, no one wanted to eat or shower there.

Would have been “ok” minus mold
Unfortunately the property and house was not well maintained. The house had a significant mold problem. My wife and kids managed to sleep in the poor air quality but I ended up sleeping in my car due to respiratory issues from the mold. I hope the owner can have the property professionally remediated for mold. I am disappointed and embarrassed that we started our vacation this way
Property wasas advertised. Our issues were the cheap sheets and covers, under-performing air conditioner in the bedroom and not one extra roll of toilet paper - the rools were both no more than half full.
We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious the living area was. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. It was a relaxing home to stay in.
Property was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately the weekend I was there the weather was awful, it rained both days, so was not able to emjoy what Niantic has to offer, but overall we enjoyed our stay.

We rented out the property for one night to celebrate a friend getting married. Didnt get to explore much due to time constraints and canceled flights, but the house was beautiful and the homeowner was great to communicate with.
My friends and I had a lovely ‘girl’s night’ sleepover at this well maintained property. We enjoyed a pleasant walk to the beach. Thank you!

Great location but the property could use some TLC
While the location was ideal for visits to the beach and state park, the property itself was tired. The paint was chipped and the walls were dirty. The radiators in the bathroom were rusty. And the towels were well worn. The linens were thin and were no extra linens for the trundle bed. Window coverings were thin. And the living room sofa was so blown out there was a piece of plywood underneath the cushions. For the price, I expected a clean, well maintained, well appointed house.

Girls beach weekend
Overall the property was very nice. A few sections of the house bathroom and ceiling showed signs of rust and water damage which didn’t make it look very clean. And also the description of the house to the beach was way father then what was listed. But we found going to Rocky Neck State park was a better choice. Also owner had told me the day of that the beach pass was an added cost which i didn’t choose to do! All in all we only stayed 2 nites it was fun!
House is located near lots of stuff, close to the beach but nice and quiet. Check in was simple, had a little confusion with the address but the host answered right away and we were able to clear it up quickly. House was exactly as expected and comfortable!
House served the purpose for us
being there. Accommodation was good. Noticed right away bathtub was dirty. Window air condition system air filter was dirty. Outside lights were out. Over all we give it low rating.
We enjoyed our stay with the expected Hurricane & all. Very spacious house, we loved the little play area for the kids. The only thing we would say if we had to change anything was we wish they had another couch or chair in the living room. We didn't fit comfortably on the 1 couch to watch a movie at night. Overall great place though!!!

Honest review:
When we arrived, all seemed well. However, we did not realize that this was a shared property, and the walls were very thin. We could hear our neighbors loud and clear, and I am sure they could hear us as well.
If you like to cook, the kitchen was really lacking-it didn't have basic things like a normal sized trash can, serving bowls, or a colander for draining pasta. However, the owner was prompt at bringing things over after we requested it.
There were some other issues as well like black mold on the ceiling of the full bathroom, and mouse droppings in the stove drawer.
The area was pretty, but the walk to the beach was hilly and long. If you can afford the $400 security deposit for the beach pass, I would get it. Otherwise, someone will have to drop off and walk back.
The kids loved their bedroom, a d said the beds were comfortable.
