Great stay in Big Bear!

We really loved staying in this lovely cabin. Location is great— close to all the main Big Bear attractions, including the ski resorts. The home is clean, cozy, and has all the amenities you need for a carefree stay. My kids (ages 5, 7, 9) loved the video games, air hockey table, and especially the hot tub!

What a great find!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sparkling Bear Cabin. It was clean and well appointed. Plenty of towels, plates, silverware for our group and we ate almost every meal at the cabin. The loft bedroom with the door was a game changer as the teenagers could sleep in without being woken up by us and we could sleep at night without being kept up by them! Highly recommend this place.

Vacation stay

This home is great if you had kids or teens, great upstairs loft with a "mini" arcade. Good location within walking distance of stores. Felt the kitchen could have had an update, very average as far as utensils, pots, pans etc. Could use some new ones.

Great location and stay

We enjoyed the location of this property, centrally located and walking to restaurants and Alpine slide. The owner was great, easy to work with and so responsive. The kids loved having their own floor and we loved gathering at the big dinner table for meals and games. We all enjoyed the hot tub, adults and kids it was well maintained and nice. The only thing I would mention is that it is chilly in the main living space even with the heaters but the bedrooms were nice and warm. Beautiful cabin!

Great trip to Big Bear

We had a great family long weekend in Big Bear! Cabin was clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed for the weekend. Games were a big hit with our three kids and my husband:). Location is in walking distance to many conveniences and attractions and you can walk or drive to the lake through the neighborhood w/o getting on a main road (although we didn't figure that out until the last night). Communication with the owners was great and we would definitely stay again!

4th of July rental

My family had a great time at this property it was close to everything eyou would want to do in big bear and very easy to find everything. The rooms were clean and cozy. The Jacuzzi was super clean somebody even showed up to clean it when we left I had a constant communication with the cleaning ladies and the homeowner. Everything was very transparent and I could call any of them at any time for assistance.

Wonderful Stay!

Everything you see in the pictures and description are 100% accurate. We had such a great time at Sparkling Bear Chalet that we didn't want to leave. The location was very conveniently located close to shopping, restaurants, and outdoor activities. But we didn't have to leave the chalet to be entertained. With the arcade with dozens of throwback arcade games to choose from, to the foosball/billiards/air hockey table, to the wonderful hot tub, the 3, 6, and 7 year olds barely wanted to leave. Everything was clean and comfortable. And Daniella was extremely responsive and made sure we had a good time. Will definitely be back.

Overall great experience

We encountered a minor hiccup with the reservation - when we arrived the house was not cleaned (beds unmade, floors unswept, etc) but I called Daniela (the host) who quickly rectified the issue and had the cleaning service there asap. Daniela was very responsive and kept us updated with the status, which we really appreciated! Great location! Easy to park and walk in, which was super important with 2 kids under 2. Lots of space and activities in the home, best suited for older kids/adults. Cute little backyard space perfect for our needs. We’ve saved this place for our future Big Bear adventures!

Fantastic Family Fun in Big Bear

Our family of 5 had the best time staying here last week! The 3 boys had hours of fun between all of the different upstairs gaming options and then sitting in the secluded hot tub from the moment they woke up! There was everything we needed and more. Towels, extra spices, instructions, and room to relax for the whole family! Daniela was a 5 star host and helped us with anything we needed. We all loved the Asteca Grill across the street and the location had everything we needed! Would stay again!

Great Getaway, Great location

We stayed for three days and three nights. It was a great getaway during the pandemic. We arrived at 4pm but the cleaning crew had not finished due to an accident that day but promised to be in done within the hour. After we were able to check-in, the place was cleaned well. We totally enjoyed our stay and there was plenty of space for all of us. Basic kitchen necessities were provided. Plenty of fun and games provided as described. Extra space heaters, toiletries and towels were available. Owner was responsive. Slow drain in downstairs bath, owner provided drano upon our request but unfortunately did not work so we were down to one bath for part of our stay. We would rent again if we back to the area!!

Perfect in every way

We stayed at this gorgeous house to celebrate my sons 12th bday and let me tell you we had the best time ever. The boys were upstairs fully entertained and felt like kings with their very own section of the house with the arcade, bathroom and air hockey table. So perfect for them. Downstairs was nothing less than amazing as well. Everything was clean and had everything we needed. I have already been asked by 3 friends for the link and they plan on booking as well. I will definitely bring my family back! Thank you so much

Overall, the Sparkling Bear Chalet was a perfect place for our Big Bear Getaway. We all enjoyed the perks of the house (hot tub, foosball, arcade, air hockey, pool table and great wifi). The house was centrally located. The owner was very responsive during our stay - we had a few minor hiccups that were resolved easily. Marco and I both work in renewable energy. Marco has a Master Degree in Civil Engineering and works in Solar Energy, and I have a MA in Communication science, M.B.A., and work in Wind and Solar Power.

We currently live in Mission Viejo, CA, after several years in LA and 3 years in Minnesota.

We are passionate about a sustainable life and we love to be close to nature.

We love to travel, ski, ice skating, snowboarding, hiking, playing foosball, billiard, mini golf, reading, cooking, laughing, creating silly games with the kids, and enjoy family time.

I hope you will enjoy our house as much as we do, and build long lasting memories for with your family and friends!

Why they chose this property

Marco and I grew up in the European mountains, on the Italian Alps in the Lakes districts, at the border with Switzerland.

When we first visited Big Bear we immediately felt in love of the mountain views, the lake and winter sports, the year round hikes, the local rescues zoo.

We started visiting Big Bear during the different seasons, for hikes, photographing fall colors, skiing. After Luca and Sofia were born (5 and 6 year old) we decided to look for a place to be our family gateway in the mountains, so that they could experience the seasons, the life close to nature and for the all family to have a place where to relax after stressful city weeks.

We immediately felt in love with our chummy home where we are building lasting mountain memories for our family and our wonderful kids Luca and Sofia (5 and 6 years).

What makes this property unique

We immediately fell in love of the open and airy floor plan that allows for a great interaction between kitchen, living room and game room; great and spacious living space; high cathedral ceilings bringing in a lot of light;
We love the outside mountain log style, and the inside comfort of a relatively new house (built in 2005).
All of this plus a great location: the house is easily accessible year long (even with difficult weather conditions), and centrally located:
- 3 minutes walk to the brewery, restaurant and Bakery ( I love walking to the coffee shop for a fresh croissant in the morning)
- 15 minutes walk to the lake
- 20 minutes walk to the Village
- minutes drive to the slope

Remote feeling and centrally located
