A wonderful time!

We come to Amelia every year and always stay at the Omni. We decided to stay at the Oceans this year and we're so glad we did and plan to book the same unit next year! The unit was very comfortable and quiet. We loved the easy access to the beach, pool - and the balcony was amazing! Our only issue: Upon opening the fridge when we arrived, we noticed a very strong odor (likely crab or fish from the previous guest) in both the fridge and freezer. We threw away our leftover groceries before we left b/c the smell clung to the wrapping. A thorough cleaning and baking soda are recommended. That said, overall, it was a wonderful experience and doesn't detract from our desire to return as we believe that's an easy fix. Thank you!

Good place but...

Beds were great as was location. Kitchen could be better stocked and some of the furniture could be updated. Outdoor cushions were all ripped and torn. However, the view could not be better

Beautiful beach and condo complex

Fernandina Beach is beautiful and Ocean Place complex has great views and very well maintained grounds and pool area. This condo itself needs some love and attention. Management company was made aware of our concerns in hopes that repairs can be made for other renters. Some of the things we noticed were dirty carpet, very firm mattresses with no pads, lack of spoons, lamps without bulbs, TV and outlets not operable in queen bedroom. Space was nice and quite for our family and would definitely stay at the complex but find another unit.

Amazing!

We absolutely loved this condo. I had children and grandchildren with me, but what I loved was the master bedroom was on the beach front and the other two bedrooms were in the back with bathrooms, and there was a door to close off that whole section. We also loved the big balcony with a dining table and chairs.

Many positives, definitely a few needed items

Fernandina Beach is a wonderful place and we have stayed frequently at other properties and also at OP with other property managers. Having this experience made us appreciate the many positives of OP50 - including location, view, covered porch, 3 BR sleeping accommodations with comfortable mattresses, parking accommodations, and fairly well stocked kitchen etc. We appreciated having access to both a drip coffee pot and Keurig although did not use both. There were several things that surprised us given the price and my conversation about concerns in the comments prior to securing reservation. I was assured things had been corrected. A light in MBR did not work, leaving frustrating little light, and there was not a complete set of silverware and knives, which we solved by buying plastic ware and flashlights. A shutter was broken in one of the smaller bedrooms. Lights not working in several places including sporadic florescent bulb in kitchen (even giving it time to "warm up"). There is a need for hooks on the back of the BR doors to hang towels if the number provided continues to be so few. This is a fairly dated unit in terms of the furniture with stains on carpet and paint needed on several walls. Nice but not as essential as above: label the light switches, provide instructions for use of TV remotes when there are multiples. Many units we have been in provide a few oriented games and beach items. Overall very good, could be better

Your Comments Let me start by saying I have been coming to Amelia island for over 20 years and staying at ocean place almost as many years. When we checked into this unit we noticed it was not very clean. We moved the coffee table to find piles of dirt. There were multiple lights that didn’t work(not just bulbs). Several of the drawers were broken and unusable. The blinds in some od the windows were broken. There was paint peeling off the walls in the dining area. We were just disappointed in the quality of the unit for the high price tag.

Great location, clean condo and spacious

We stayed three nights. The condo was very clean, space was great for party of eight. The view was stunning, two pools were perfect and close to local area restaurants. The staff were accommodating and I would highly recommend staying here. Looking forward to booking again!

JUST What We Needed!!

This is the first time we have stayed at Ocean Place. Love the location and Unit 50! There was plenty of room for our family and clean! I appreciate having additional towels, so no need to wash them daily. Although we did not use many appliances, I love that there are lots to choose from, including a small mixer! Having multiple coffee pots is a great idea AND thank you for also providing a Keurig! It's my go to!! There are plenty of pots and pans for cooking. Lastly, the covered patio is perfect for sitting outside and having a break from the sun. AND I loved having a separate laundry room where we could close the door. Although none of these are deal breakers, we have few suggestions that might be helpful in the future: it would be helpful to have somewhere to place shampoo bottles in the master shower. An additional towel rack in the master bath would be great (we try using towels more than once but there were few areas to hang them). We found ourselves running out of silverware often. An additional set would be helpful, as well as an updated set of steak knives. Also, a few additional cooking utensils would be great. It took us a while to figure out which light switches controlled what. Labels could help with that. Overall, compared to other condos we've stayed in on Amelia, this is one of our favs. The owners thought of a lot is things that other condo owners may not have considered. We loved staying in Ocean Place 50!

Condo 50

The Unit was fine and my family really enjoyed it. The view was beautiful, and the furniture was comfortable. The washer and dryer and other appliances worked well. The Unit needed more silverware, and bulbs in some ceiling lights and lamps were out. The one problem we had was taken care of by Mock's as soon as possible.

We have stayed here several years now and enjoy the unit. While they didn't present a problem, there was a light out in the master bathroom and we couldn't get the outside deck light to come on. Entry and exit went smoothly. We plan to soon submit a request to reserve another week there next year.

Sunrise oceanfront condo

This was our first time visiting Amelia Island. We enjoyed our stay. The unit was at Ocean Place, 3 bdrm/bath had a balcony and seating for all of us with expansive views of the ocean. Beautiful sunrises every morning. The beach was tranquil and clean. It was comfortable and spacious. The couch/chairs could use a new cover or cleaning but otherwise very nicely furnished. We spent most of our time at the beach. Downtown is about 10 min by car. We will definitely be back.

The bathroom with the double bed has black marks where the caulking once was. I would not like to think it's black mold. There are cushions missing from chairs on the patio. The drapes are down from the rod in the living area. Otherwise, the unit has a beautiful view and is nicely decorated.

Needs work

Location is great with short walk to beach. Things we feel should be looked into. Leak under bathroom sink off room with queen bed. Towels under sink were very damp to slightly wet Condo is short on bathroom towels, silverware in kitchen, specifically spoons Carpet should be cleaned Dining table takes up too much space. Feeling of being cluttered Just needs updating. Don't mean to be critical but this is our honest opinion Blessings to all.

Beautiful...

This condo was beautiful and fit our family really well. The view from the balcony so awesome and it overlooks the as well. I have stayed in several rooms at Ocean Place and this is definitely one of the nicest. My only complaint was that they only had 2 wash rags in each bathroom. When your there for a week, 2 Towels and 2 wash rags isn't enough. So we went out and bought extra for the room so we didn't have to do laundry every night (we left them there for future guest as well). Also the water pressure in the showers definitely needs some attention. Its too nice of a place to have that bad of pressure in the showers. Overall, I would definitely recommend this room.

Ocean Place 50 Sandy Bottoms -Three Star

Other than the view of the ocean from the balcony and the layout of the condo, we were disappointed with the condition of the condo and amenities. There were noticeable stains on the carpeting in all 3 bedrooms. The lighting in the bedrooms was dim, light bulbs we're missing or not working in some of the bedrooms and dining room. One bedroom had only one light bulb. There was a stain on the living room sofa, one of the cushions on the balcony was ripped. The wine glasses need to be replaced, they have a white film from the dishwasher. When we removed the pillow cases, some of the pillows were stained. Written instructions to navigate and program the TV would be helpful. It's not intuitive. The condo needs to be updated including the furniture.

Hard to recommend

While the location and ocean view was terrific, this unit was very tired and worn out in appearance. Upon entering the unit, we noticed a very musty odor. We opened the windows and the door to the patio, but the odor lingered for our two day stay. This unit can use updating in many ways - upholstered furniture in the living area and patio was worn, limp, and unsupportive. In fact the patio chair cushions were dirty. The bedding could use a refresh, as well as the bathroom rugs in the 2nd bathroom. The bathroom fan was very loud and was on the same switch as the light. The fixtures were a bit scratched and "rusted." We did not use the master bedroom, our senior guests used that, and tried not to complain, they are good sports, but I kept wishing we had booked a nicer place. We did encounter a huge palmetto bug in the hall upon returning from dinner one night. We did not use the kitchen, but the Florida tap water was not too tasty. The clothes dryer looked very old. I used it to take wrinkles out of clothes, and that did work. New paint on the walls and trim and patio floor would help immensely. In lieu of that, a good scrubbing of the floors and trim might work. We paid $600 per night for this 3 bedroom unit, and I feel we overpaid. We also decided not to use the pool, as it had a fair amount of sand in it. One plus I noticed was the boardwalk to the beach was new and in excellent shape. Sadly, we cannot recommend 50 Sandy Bottoms.

I would recommend they change out their outdoor cushions as they were old and battered. And also carpet in the bathroom but other than that house keeping is doing a great job and the view was very nice

Three Star

We love the three bedroom unit and have stayed in Ocean Place many times. This unit was lacking quite a bit. It had one dish towel, no oven mitts, no sheets for the pull out couch, light bulbs were out and the master needs hooks or towel racks. There were only two bowls and few glasses though the room sleeps eight. The twin mattresses also need updating and more lighting in the second bedroom.
