The cabin is situated on a 60 acre farm nestled in the valley. The Bluestone River runs around the boundaries of the farm. Beautiful mountain views provide a peaceful setting for both sunrise and sunset. The Greenbrier and New River, Bluestone Lake and Dam are close by. Floating down the Greenbrier River is breathtakingly beautiful, soothing, and kayaking on the Bluestone River is a great way to relax!

The main level of this historic cabin has a sunporch that allows viewing of deer as they graze in the pastures. There is a kitchen, dining room and comfortable living room with flat screen TV (Dish). 2 comfy recliners and fireplace. Queen bedroom and sitting area. The front door opens onto a porch with antique rocking chairs.. There is one bath with shower on the main level.

The area around this property offers extensive indoor and outdoor activities, all within a short drive.

Each room is appointed with beautiful antique quilts, old trunks, and pieces of furniture used on the farm. It is like a museum! You may sip coffee while watching the deer eat apples from the old tree!

If you are looking for pampered, modern conveniences this is not your place. If you want peace, quiet, tranquility amid old relics, antiques, and farm pastures you will enjoy this property. The homestead is much like it was during the time it was built (early 1900s). It is intended to give visitors and guests an idea of how living on the farm in the early years might have been. Our guests tell us its like 'revisiting their childhood when ‘going to Grandma's house'.

Life on the farm remain pretty much the way the it was when grandma lived there in the early 1900's. Guests today have a few more modern conveniences including wifi, cable tv, and . . . a bathroom, replacing the old outhouse that once stood on the farm.

Experience the freshness of the cool mountain filled with the sound of owls and crickets chirping softly in the stillness..

If a rain should be falling on the old tin roof, you're in for a special treat. There's nothing like listening to the soothing raindrops as you curl up with a good book or nap the entire afternoon.

The farm comes with a 4-legged security system named Diesel who watches over all who visit, barks upon your arrival, and waits for his biscuit treat!

Guests can go for a walk to the old barn, go fishing or kayaking in the river, watch deer graze in the pastures, or make conversation around the crackling firepit while roasting marshmallows and taking in the beauty of a clear, starlit night.

Time stands still at this old farm, rusted glimpses of days gone by, inviting guests to visit and remember when life was simpler. Paradise awaits!

Please note: Cabin is restricted to 2 guests, no smoking or vaping, no pets, and no extra guests allowed.

Felt like home
Upon arrival the property was as beautiful as the pictures. We were enchanted by the feeling of home that this little cabin exudes. I grew up in this area. I felt like I was at my grandmother's home. It brought back wonderful feelings and memories. The property owner is great and easy work with as well. If you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to stay this is the one.

Wonderful stay
I had a very nice stay at the cabin. It’s exactly as described. It was comfortable and had everything you need. Diesel was a welcomed friend as well. He came by in the mornings for his biscuit and even kept me company by the campfire. I’d definitely rent again.

PEACE
It was so peaceful-something I needed for a minute in time. Perfect location to Princeton, which is where I had to do some business as well as where my relatives live. I loved watching the deer play in the field. They were truly beautiful.

Weekend getaway
This place was just as described. We enjoyed getting back early each evening just to sit in the sunroom or walk along the field. And we liked having the kitchen for breakfast as well. Just a very pleasant stay if you like old cabins and antiques.

I am the granddaughter of the original owner. From his sawmill that once stood on the premises, my grandfather cut logs and all timber used in building of this historic authentic, log cabin. He hauled huge sandstone rocks from the nearby river to serve as the foundation and placed them around the fireplace. The home was built in the early 1900s as a dreamhouse for him and my grandmother, Lora Bell. Here they farmed, raised cattle, chickens, garden vegetables, and enjoyed a simple life until their passing.

Why they chose this property

I love sharing my grandparents old homestead they loved so much!

What makes this property unique

Peace, quiet, tranquility...beautiful night skies.. firepit for enjoying it all! Cabin filled with many original items from 100 years ago!
