About this property

Around the Corner from St Paul's Cathedral

This is a very central property around the corner from St Paul's Cathedral. It is tucked in in a very quiet cul-de-sac so noise from traffic won't be a problem, which can be quite common in central London properties.

Many thanks.

The flat has a contemporary look. It is spacious and with plenty of natural light. It is on a 1st floor which you can access through its own entrance, straight from the street without having to go through the main block. It is very private and quiet (great for sleeping).
The 2 bedrooms have a comfortable double bed, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers or shelves. They both have original artworks. They are at the back of the flat so you won't hear any street noises. They are ideal for 2 couples or 2 friends.
The bathroom is situated in-between the 2 bedrooms and is also contemporary in looks. It is well equipped with a set of 3 towels per guest, a hair dryer, shaving power point, large cabinet for all the toiletries and hooks on the wall to hang your individual towels.
The kitchen is simple but practical. It has a toaster, a kettle, a cafetiere and a "french press" style coffee maker, washing machine, microwave and conventional oven, fridge/freezer and enough utensils to prepare lovely meals. The window goes from wall to wall so you have plenty of daylight and you can see the top of the dome of St Paul's Cathedral while you do the washing-up.
The living-room is large and spacious. the south side has also a wall to wall window for lots of daylight (see pictures). Also original framed photographs. There is a TV and DVD player with about 60 films available, 2 sofas, a table for four and a shelving unit. It is connected to the kitchen with a 1960's cupboard with opening window in the centre. There is also an audio player with which you can connect your MP3 player or IPOD and listen to the radio. What else could I say? Look at the photos. A picture is worth a thousand words! ;o)

Oh so convenient, clean and quiet central location
The apartment is very well located and convenient to both train and bus that provides freedom to visit any location in London. The bells of St Paul's Cathedral were welcoming and somehow comforting. The apartment was exactly as represented in the photos and it was clean and comfortable and Juan provided a thorough review of the apartment and the facilities provided when we arrived. Juan responded promptly to our emails and was waiting for us at the apartment after the long haul flight from Australia that we were extremely pleased with as we were able to unload our luggage quickly without any delays. Juan provided us with very clear instruction to get to the apartment that made our lives easy and followed up with sound information on transport options and points of interest. The kitchen provided our family of four with all the things we needed to ensure that we could make our own meals and the local shops provided all the ingredients we required and some interesting additions. Local shopping made life so much easier to self cater and a Jamie Oliver restaurant on the other side of the Cathedral was a bonus. The apartment is tucked away from the busy street so noise was not an issue and the area felt safe to us. We recommend this apartment and Juan to any of you who want a centrally located apartment that is clean and well maintained. Juan, you can bet that we will want to stay with you again when we visit London again during 2016. Thanks for your effort and look forward to the next time.

Location, location, location!
The flat is in an excellent location - steps away from St. Paul's, the Underground, buses, lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Juan was easy to communicate with and provided detailed instructions and directions to the flat. Tim, who was handling the property during our visit, was exceptional and answered all of our questions. The flat was perfect for our family of 4 for Christmas in London!

Convenient, clean, and comfy!
Juan's flat was the perfect home base for our first time visiting London. The location is super convenient to the Underground and is surrounded by countless dining establishments. Additionally, there are three supermarkets right around the corner, which allowed us to prepare breakfast, etc at the flat instead of relying solely on restaurants. We loved hearing the bells from St. Paul's Cathedral, which served as a frequent reminder of how historic and special the area is. Juan's communication was prompt and thorough and his impressive attention to detail translated into a smooth checkin/checkout experience -- not to mention an impeccably clean flat. This was our first time ever working with a security deposit (which is very common in London, from what we've researched), so just to allay any concerns for other first-timers: Juan was extremely professional and our deposit was returned promptly. We loved our time in London and would happily book again with Juan in the future without hesitation. Thanks so much, Juan!

Beautiful flat in the Financial District!
A great 2 bedroom flat conveniently located in the heart of London’s financial area and across the street from St Paul’s Cathedral. Juan was an excellent host and was extremely helpful with his knowledge of London.

Wonderful stay at charming flat!
Our family of four had a wonderful stay at the flat around the corner from St. Paul’s cathedral. Each family member rated it five stars all around. It felt like home! The flat looks exactly like it does in the photos and is very clean and has everything you need. The flat is in a perfect location with easy access to public transportation and short walking distances to supermarkets, restaurants, shops, and attractions. Juan was very friendly, extremely helpful, and all communications with him were super easy. We absolutely recommend staying here!

Fantastic location
Amen Lodge was perfectly appointed for our family of four. We stayed for more than a week and loved the location. Easy to access the tube, bus, hop-on-hop-off tours, and it was so wonderful to see St Paul’s every day. There are great little groceries nearby, and we really like Cafe Rogue for breakfast. We were very comfortable in the flat. Loved have a washing machine, though no dryer. Clothes air dried fairly quickly on provided drying racks. The paternoster square was fun seeing people coming from work and some tourists. They always had something going on in the square, like mini golf, or table tennis. It was a fun atmosphere. Juan was great about meeting us at the apartment and explaining the accommodations and location. Very easy and pleasant to work with. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

A great find in the heart of London.
We were very happy with this flat and we definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of London at a low price. The flat is just as described in the listing and the pictures are accurate to the detail. Juan (the owner) was charming and helpful in all aspects of the booking and stay. We strongly recommend this property. Thank you Juan. Nancy & Jeff.

Stylish flat in a fantastic location!
We had a wonderful stay at Juan's apartment in central London. The property is in the heart of London, just around the corner from St Paul's Cathedral. Amazing to find a property like this one and at this price. Juan was very helpful throughout the booking process and while we were in London (he lives 5 minutes walk from the flat, which is convenient). He is very sweet and professional, unlike others we have had to deal with. the place is just what we needed for us and it is well equipped and spotless. We slept very well every night as it is tucked away in a Cul-de-sac street. Lots of shops around, 3 supermarkets, bars and restaurants (a bit pricey but it is central London after all). Mc Donald's is around the corner too for those looking for quick cheap meals on the go. We definitely recommend it to everyone. Thanks Juan. Florence and family.

Fabulous apartment, fabulous location.
Not only is the place itself clean and nice, the location fantastic. There is an afterwork "nite life" full of laughter very nearby, grocery, shops all around, as well as easy access to The Tube, the river, everything. Great place - all 'round top winner in my book. Recommend this to everyone!

Lorenzo's St. Paul flat
We loved our stay at this convenient, quiet St. Paul's location. We enjoyed our daily walk across Parnoster Square to the convenient St. Paul's tube location. Lorenzo allowed us early access after an all night journey, allowing us to refresh ourselves. And promptly repaired a dead battery in a smoke detector that was "chirping" annoyingly. Nice, moderate sized 2 bedroom flat completely furnished with everything we required. We would stay there again.

Superb location in the heart of the City.
We have had a great time in London and when we were not out and about sightseeing, we were at Juan's flat which is at the heart of the City of London. One can walk anywhere from St Paul's, to all the sights and to a large number of restaurants, shops, pubs and museums. The stay in the flat was very comfortable and dealing with Juan before and during our stay was very easy. There is a great collection of DVDs (about 30 of them) to watch a film at night or in between sights while recovering our energy. The flat is just as it is photographed to the last detail. What you see is what you get and Juan certainly delivered what we were hoping to get. We strongly recommend this place in central London. This place is a bargain. Thanks Juan, from all of us.

Charming, central, on the doorstep of St. Paul's
This two-bedroom flat is beautifully located--just on the other side of a minor street from Paternoster Square, a two-minute walk across the stair to the steps of St. Paul's, five minutes walking time from the St. Paul tube station (or you can walk a little less than half a mile down to the river for Blackfriar's). Three food stores and a dozen restaurants are just a stroll away. The flat itself is charming, spotless, well-cared for, and comfortable. Kitchen is adequate; washer included. The management was responsive and helpful. The square where the flat is located is picturesque and quiet (as long as you don't mind bells). The dome of St. Paul's looms up over a neighboring building and can be seen from the kitchen and living room windows. We loved our stay and will be back.

Superb location for sightseeing
My friend and I came here for a reunion and wanted to stay locally instead of at a hotel. Amen Lodge felt just like our home for a week. Yes the bells do ring every hour but it is a lovely sound (or you wear ear plugs). The best thing about this flat is its location. St Paul’s and Blackfriars tube stops are within walking distance and the Millenium Bridge is right there too. Grocery stores, pubs, tubes stops and a very nice owner make this a location I will come back to when in London again.

Comfortable and Well Located
The location was just right for my major interests. I could walk across the Millennium Bridge in ten minutes to get to the Tate museum, Shakespeare's Globe Theater, and the National Theater. The flat was comfortable and well set up for cooking and relaxing. My grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cheryl Dockser

Perfect location for a visit to London!
We just finished an 8-night stay at Amen Lodge. We found the location perfect for us as we explored the city. It is located minutes away from Paternoster Square and St. Paul’s cathedral. The owner Juan was friendly and professional. He was very accommodating to meet us and work around our schedule for our arrival and departure. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable. There are two bedrooms with double beds in each, which worked great for our family of four. The neighborhood felt safe and during our stay was quiet in the evenings. Other reviewers have mentioned the bells of St. Paul’s. The bells never bothered us, even with the windows open. We loved hearing them when we were awake. We visited during an unusually hot week - upper 80’s and even over 90 Fahrenheit on one day. We opened the windows and were able to get a good enough cross draft to feel comfortable. There is a grocery outlet in Paternoster Square and two Co-op grocery outlets nearby as well. We took advantage of them to eat one or two meals a day at the flat. The flat is located close to several tube stops. St. Paul on the Central Line is the nearest but occasionally we used Farringdon as well. Be sure to take a stroll across the Millennium Bridge and along the Thames. One day we walked down to the London Eye and we found the Southbank area to be quite lively. We took a family poll after our trip and every one of us gave Amen Lodge five stars. We highly recommend it!

As Advertised
I would recommend staying here, the positives far outweighed the negatives. First the positives. This was the first time that we have ever stayed in a non hotel on a trip. The location was good, right beside St. Paul's and close to a couple of subway lines. It is also about 1.3 miles to the Eye and all of the Thames activities. It is not a touristy area at night so it is relatively quiet (I'll get to the relatively part). The landlord Juan, was great. He was honest and helpful. He gave us our deposit back with absolutely no hassle. He also sent his friend over at 10:00 at night when we locked our keys in the flat. No complaints about that. It was nice having 2 bedrooms and a living room as opposed to a typical hotel room with 2 beds in one room. The bathroom was a little unusual in that the shower has an open side to it where water seems to escape but maybe that is a London thing. The only slightly negative thing was sleeping. The beds are listed as queens but they are not the same size as the queens we have in the US. Two adults are pretty tight in the beds. I am 6 ft 1, 200 pounds and my wife is 5 ft 7, 125 pounds and we were pretty crowded. The beds are very basic and below average (compared to a hotel room) comfort. If you are sleeping on one by yourself, it is fine. Also, if you are a light sleeper, the bells of St. Pauls's may keep you awake, they chime every 15 minutes. It was warm so we had the windows open and since you are right beside St. Paul's the bells are loud. Other than that, the flat was as advertised. It's not luxury but it does the job.

fantastic apartment and owner!!
There were 3 of us and we all loved Juan's flat!!! It's a wonderful location, close to everything we wanted to see in London. Also close to lots of grocery stores, restaurants, a couple of different metro stations, a train station, etc. Walking distance to many theatres as well. Couldn't be more convenient. The flat itself was spotless and very comfortable We loved having the kitchen (stocked with everything you might need) to be able to make breakfast and snacks. My ONLY suggestion would be to put some safety bars up in the bathroom because the tub is a little hard to get in and out of. Juan was very easy to work with, super nice, and very trustworthy. I can't recommend this place strongly enough--it is top notch and when we go back to London, we will definitely stay here again.

Left us cold
We were cold in late November. Only the living room had adequate heat. No heat in the kitchen or bathroom, and inadequate heat in the bedroom. The owner was not available to help us. He left the country the day we arrived, and so did his backup person, although he was available by email. The location is convenient and attractive, and in good weather this accommodation would be fine.

Wonderful location, sparkling clean!
We spent 2 nights in this little gem of an apartment in the third week of September, perfectly situated for getting around the highlights of London town. A few steps to St Paul's Cathedral and lots of nice places to eat within easy walking distance. The apartment is sparkling clean, Juan is obviously very fastidious about maintaining it's high standard. Everything was perfect with the exception of the fact that the heat did not turn on during both nights of our stay and we were pretty cool in the evening and during the night. The bathtub is quite high sided and might be an issue for those with mobility restrictions. Otherwise, it's well equipped, the bedding was crisp and clean. Kudos to Juan for keeping it so spotless even though he has a number of guests moving through. Highly recommend this location.

City Center
My wife, daughter and I just spent 9 nights at Juan's flat, located just a few steps from St Paul's Cathedral. The flat is just a two minute walk to the St Paul's tube stop and there are plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. The flat is in a quiet side street away from the noisy nightlife though you will hear the bells of the cathedral (not loud enough to wake you). The flat has everything you will need for a comfortable stay with a sitting room, two bedrooms and a small but adequate kitchen. There are plenty of small grocery stores nearby as well as an ATM. I highly recommend the flat and would certainly stay here again.
