About this property

Large Cabin Sitting at 4,000 Feet Elevation

Welcome to Beech View Retreat!

Beech View Retreat is a large, beautiful 4BR/3BA log cabin that sits at over 4,000 feet in elevation with long-range views of Beech Mountain! Located in a quiet mountaintop area where the cabins are all spread out with privacy and plenty of elbow room. The property is generous with many mature trees, areas to walk, and a rolling landscape to explore.

The main level features an open great room, also open to the kitchen and dining, with wood floors, vaulted ceilings, and exposed beams. The great room has nice furniture, a gas log fireplace, as well as a large screen HD Smart TV. A wall of glass windows and doors exposes mountain views. The dining table seats 6 to 8 guests, plus 4 more in bar stools at the adjacent custom wood dining counter. The kitchen has stainless appliances, granite countertops, and is fully equipped to prepare and serve meals to groups of up to 12. The rear deck off the dining and living areas has mountain views, most prominently the top of Beech Mountain and surrounding peaks. There is a gas grill and a custom-crafted, live-edge dining counter with bar stool seating. On the side is an open-air deck with a picnic table.

Also on the main level is a central full bathroom with a tub/shower combo which serves both main level bedrooms. One main level bedroom has an HD Smart TV and a queen bed. The other main level bedroom has a queen bed, as well as a twin-over-twin bunk bed, and an HD Smart TV.

At the top of the stairs is an open loft with a desk for catching up on work, as well as a comfy sleeper chair-and-a-half which opens to a twin bed. The loft boasts the best long-range mountain views of any room in the house. The king master suite is upstairs and has a full ensuite bathroom, a small, electric fireplace, and a seating area, and HD Smart TV. The bed is positioned in such a way you look out at the mountain range as you lay in the bed.

Downstairs on the lower level features a large den and game room with a Foosball table, a corner, gas log fireplace, a large HD Smart TV, and comfy furniture with a queen sleeper sofa. Another king bedroom suite on the lower level has an ensuite bathroom with a jetted Jacuzzi-style tub, a separate shower, and a granite vanity with double sinks. Glass doors open from this bedroom onto the lower rear deck with bistro table and chairs, and the hot tub.

Note: TV service is Hulu Live + on all TVs along with Amazon Prime Video.

Nice log cabin

The cabin was beautiful and in a great location. However the home could have been cleaned better in relation to floors and much of the carpet and rugs looked very dated. The beds were not comfortable and could use a topper or a new mattress.

Don't Waste Your Money

First of all, the house wasn't marked very well. If you miss your cabin, you are backing down a gravel road with a cliff on one side. Very scary if you're not used to the roads. I definitely do not recommend trying to find the house in the dark. Most importantly, the house was filthy. There was a paper on the toilet seats showing that it had been sanitized, but the toilets had not been cleaned and there was hair all over the backs of the seats. The carpets were filthy and stained. There was an inch of dust and dirt on everything in the house. Anything that we used in the kitchen had to be thoroughly scrubbed before using and things were just thrown in any cabinet. Every cabinet was full of food crumbs and dirt. Considering the amount of the cleaning fee for a weekend stay, the house needs a thorough cleaning and organizing of the items in the cabinets. The hot tub is set to not exceed 99 degrees. If you looking to hang and relax on a cool night, 99 degrees is not very warm. The cabin is advertised as having a beautiful view of Beech Mountain. The surrounding trees are so high that you could not see anything. You can see Beech Mountain from the cloudy window on the 3rd floor if you look closely. With all the extra fees and taxes, the total came to almost 2 1/2 times the daily amount advertised. If we had a choice and had not been there for a family funeral, I would never ever pay this much for a dirty cabin in a not so desirable area.

I would never go back because of how dirty the cabin

It's a shame that such a beautiful cabin is in such a state of neglect and dirt! Unacceptable the conditions in which we found everything, the unclean kitchen with food remains everywhere, the refrigerator with food stains, the pots and pans dirty from long ago, the old and dirty coffee pot everywhere! The bed linen is old and much of it is torn, the accumulated dirt everywhere is unacceptable, we had to clean because we couldn't find a place to go. It is a shame that after months of planning this vacation we have had such a hard time. I would love to pass the photos that I take so that another family does not go what we went through and if we add that we are in the time of COVID the truth was very stressful, no matter how much we took measures, we are very afraid of having stayed there but we had no choice. That cabin hasn't been cleaned in months! The carpets are super dirty ... the worst thing that we reported the problem and they sent a person who only said that he would clean again and with new lingerie and he never came back when we called again they told us that they could not do anything because that person said that he had cleaned and had left us clean lingerie! THE SERVICE IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Good amenities. Great location. Kitchen needed updates but minimal. The rug is worn out and it looks bad. The cooktop was so greasy and I had to clean it by myself. Need better silverware and dishes. The grill was very dirty and greasy that I had to buy special cleaning spray and cleaned it by myself Everything else was really good.

Great place and stay.

We found the cabin to be clean and neat. Everything we needed was there and the cabin was supplied with all the towels, linens and extras. The cool days and nights was a pleasant treat from the 95 degree days at home. Sitting out on the porch was a true pleasure. If I only had to make 2 suggestions, it would be to trim the tops of the trees in front of the porch and to maybe invest in another coffee pot, as it tended to overfow at times. The view would be amazing if the tops were gone from the trees. Other than that....it was perfect. We would stay again....no doubt.

Lovely Home

This cabin is up the mountain so please do not under mind there emails about that :) The cabin has the most beautiful view. We did find some damage to some lamps and the air hockey table. The hot tub was also dirty but they came out right away to clean it for use. We did as we were told and took pictures within the 1st hours and sent them in and that was that. After staying in the house we did notice that the house was dusty in some places. (i.e. over the stove there was A LOT dust on the cabinets and there was a lot of dust on the baseboards in the main bathroom as well as on the wall above the door.Even with the dust issue we would come back.

This cabin was great! We had 5 adults and 5 kids, ages 1 to 13. The bunk bed room with the full bed was great for the kids and then the adults all had their own space. The adults and kids all enjoyed the Air Hockey and Foosball and Carolina Cabin Rentals made the rental process very easy.

Beech view retreat Cabin

Loved the location and the cabin. Great condition and high standards of cleanliness. The support staff was very efficient and responsive. They were always available on the phone and answered all questions to my satisfaction. The Jacuzzi was in great shape and instructions were clearly communicated. Cooking utensils might need to be refreshed. So does the grill outside. Overall great and enjoyable

Loved Beechview Retreat

We enjoyed every minute of our time in this beautiful home. The cabin was my favorite part of our trip. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have some privacy, while also offering plenty of gathering spaces both inside and outside. The kitchen was great and fully stocked. Loved the hot tub as well!!

Overall this place was

Overall this place was nice. It was a bit of a drive from the ski resorts but I was aware of that before booking. I have booked other cabins through Carolina Cabin rentals that were much nicer and at a better location. I would say the kitchen is very minimally stocked with cooking supplies. My biggest complaint is the fact that I was directed to this cabin as one of the last ones available that had a hot tub. The hot tub is the main reason we were willing to stay so far away from the ski resorts. However, when we arrived the lid of the hot tub was blown off and the hot tub had no water in it, clearly not functional. Overall I would say there are better options for a similar or even cheaper price.

The Cabin had a beautiful

The Cabin had a beautiful view and room for our large group. However, the main fireplace did not work, and we called Carolina Cabins 3 different times and each time they said they were sending someone out to fix it but they never did. Also if you plan on cooking be sure to bring your own pans and cookie sheets. The tv only has basic channels, so don't go planning to watch any football. The guys in our group were very upset because they missed some big games. Also the wine cooler in the kitchen does not work either. We have stayed with Carolina Cabins in the past and had a great experience, not so great this time. We will definitely be looking for other options in our next trip.
