Beautiful but Misleading

Upon arriving my eyes were so pleased, but to my disappointment, it was NOT the beautiful chalet one sees on the advertisement. It was the botton part of the chalet, The top part was the owners. So, as one knows, you hear the stomping above, the coffee smell at 05:30 and the general feeling one is not alone. Besides these negatives we had a pleasant stay. The Jura area was exceptional and the people were kind. Excellent cycling trails. The ower provided us with loads of information about the surrounding area.

Beautiful location to explore Jura.

This very clean chambre d'hote (our first time) was comfortable and in a very convenient location for the lake, village and surrounding countryside. The owners did not speak much English and our French is patchy but we made ourselves understood. The property is described as quiet but there are two nearby campsites which could be heard from the terrace. This did not spoil things for us but was unexpected. The room is simply equipped for cooking basic meals but could do with a couple more items, such as a slotted spoon/fishslice, wine glasses and a separate board and knife for meat (one is provided for bread). We had a great time exploring the lakes - don't miss the cheese making demo in Thoiria or the cascades d' Herisson. English is not widely spoken in this area but that suited us fine. It is an unspoiled and surprising region.

IMPLANTATION

Bon accueil des propriétaires pas très flexible pour l'heure d'arrivée proche de Clairvaux en voiture une route en contre bas du gite mais peu de circulation des campings en contre bas ambiance vacances jusqu'à 22H30 logement proprio au-dessus on entend marcher

Le logement est très bien, la décoration est fun avec de belles couleurs et il y a une belle vue sur le lac et la campagne. Seul bémol pour nous : le matelas trop dur à notre goût (mais c'est une question d'habitude).

Perfekte Unterkunft für einen Kurzurlaub

Wir haben die letzen 5 Nächte unserer Reise bei Olivier verbracht. Das Haus hat alles was man für einen Kurzurlaub braucht. Die Lage ist ruhig, trotzdem ist man zu Fuß in 15 Minuten am See und im Zentrum von Clairvaux-les-Lacs. Parken kann man direkt vor dem Haus. Olivier und seine Frau sind beide sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich kann diese Unterkunft absolut empfehlen!
