We truly enjoyed our stay! The communication with the owner was great. We got clear instructions in advance. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and the towels are soft. It had everything you might need… plates, plastic utensils, hangers, band-aids…There was newly installed decking to the door and patio area. It was quiet and a comfortable walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. Would come again!
I really was so fortunate to have Sherman for a host. This booking seemed plagued from the beginning due to problems with the VRBO email and confirmation system.Sherman kindly sent me all the necessary I formation and even helped me when I was lost in Wi Aton Salem trying to find the rental.
The property itself suited my purposes quite well. I was in town for a workshop, and the location was perfect for me. The bed was comfortable, and the bath had everything a person could need.
I have stayed at this property before and liked it so much that I rented it again when I was in Winston-Salem. It’s a good place. It’s as advertised and owner communicates effectively.
This was a great spot to stay to visit the area while still being walkable to downtown. Check in and check out were clear and easy. We would definitely stay here again!
I was here solo for Highpoint market and it was just what I needed with an affordable price. Walked to local restaurants and had parking in the back. Perfect! Will book again for solo travel to Highpoint!
One thing to note is that it is a charming, historical house. The walls are pretty thin so bring earplugs or airpods just in case you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep (ie morning). Nothing crazy or unreasonable with regard to sound and timeframe just a note.
Thanks Sherman! You were a lovely host, very responsive to questions, for a unique rental in a prime location in downtown Winston-Salem.
I’ll be back!!
The location was ideal for a conference I was attending while in Winston so I didn’t have to get a high priced hotel downtown. It was less than a mile away from the convention center. The room was small but that’s what was advertised and it’s all I needed. I would easily stay there again.
The bedroom & bathroom were very clean and the queen-sized bed was comfortable. There was a small refrigerator and microwave. The biggest improvement I would suggest is having a keurig coffee maker and some coffee pods. There was no nearby place to have coffee and a light breakfast.
I also noticed that there was no smoke/fire detector in the room, which I think should be required in a home as old as this one.
A perfect cozy, clean, casa walking distance to everything.
Great location, perfect for my husband and I visiting our daughter. Nice to be able to have off street parking . Exactly as pictured, historic building located on a quiet street. The bed was comfortable, clean, fridge, microwave, shower, bathroom. Everything you need and outside area to eat at as well. A true hidden gem.
I appreciated how nicely appointed it was and the access to both parking, entryway and the quiet neighborhood it was located within. Interestingly the unit was cooler than I expected given the time of year because it's in the basement the cold air from above had the temperature of the apartment well below the ambient temperature outside, at times I did need to open the door to warm up the space a little but I suspect most of the year that is a plus. Plenty of hot water, amenities (refrigerator, iron, etc). Small and comfortable.
Check in was great, mattress comfortable, and fridge convenient. Sherman was really responsive and helpful. The location truly was close to restaurants and yet the space felt quiet and secluded, tucked around back.
