First Bitter Taste for VRBO
Unfortunately David, the owner, was aware that the upstairs bathroom tub/shower was not working properly but did not alert me to see if I wanted to break our contract. If I knew that 10 adult avid hikers would have to share 1 shower, I would have changed my reservations. To make matters worse, when I finally spoke to David, he implied it was “user error” and requested video. He had no maintenance person available and told me he would have to check with “the family” about some sort of compensation. As of today, I have not received a message, in text or voicemail, of some sort of partial refund. Imagine 10 adults sharing one small shower right by the kitchen/ living area…. Not pretty! I feel this was a fraudulent move on the owner’s part and feel disheartened for the first time, after using these types of services for many many years.
Overall, our stay was enjoyable and good! Communication with owner was difficult. Water in upstairs shower wouldn't get hot. Porch banisters on steps were very loose and hazardous and there was gum on the ceiling of one of the upstairs bedrooms and lip gloss in the living room floor when we arrived. We were allowed to check in early which was very helpful and the cabin was nice and roomy. It would be nice to have a key pad at the back door as well as the front door, since that is the handicap access point. We weren't there very much because we were there for a Women's Conference, but overall we enjoyed our stay.
Upstairs bedrooms were hot. Did not seem to have any air at all. Light bulbs on ceiling fan were burned out. Spiderwebs on rocking chairs and ceiling on back porch. Weeds were growing up between floorboards on porch. Porch furniture was dusty and had to be cleaned before using. Handrails needed on stairs. A senior member of our party fell downstairs. Handrails on wall may have prevented this. Liked the parking off the kitchen. Liked the spacious parking. Back yard was well kept and would have been great place for kids if we'd had any.
We had a wonderful time. The house was so spacious. everything you needed was close by. Even used door dash for a few forgotten items form the grocery store. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great time.
The cabin was very nice and plenty of room for our family of six. It is in an easily accessible location and had a large backyard that was nice. Would stay here again!
It was a great place to stay with multiple families and close all activities for all ages. The house was stocked great and the hot tub clean! Thank you!
Nice property close to Pigeon Forge without the busyness of Pigeon Forge. Great for our elderly parents and late teenagers/young adults. Would definitely recommend this place.
Overall it was great just minor issues front and back yard needs mowing and maintenance, replace some blinds and both bathrooms shower/liners but family really enjoyed it thank you.
Loved this cabin! The location is perfect. It is easy to find. One guest was pulling a trailer, so the flat parking was awesome. There were 9 of us and had plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked. There were plenty of towels. I did not hear anyone complain about a cold shower. It could be time for a mattress update, especially for the upstairs bedrooms and bunk beds. The sprayer on the kitchen sink tends to stick. Overall it is a great place and we would definitely stay there again!
This was our second visit to this cabin. We had an amazing time.
We had a couple little issues. I called around 10 in the morning to tell them and someone was there by 12. The repair man was very friendly and fixed what I called about and done a couple things I didn’t even ask for. We plan to make this cabin our family getaway.
