Features: 3 levels of porches, 2 hot tubs, 2 living rooms w/ gas burning fireplaces, additional kitchenette, & more. At River's Edge on the Hooch is a lovely, cozy 3-story condo located close to the center of the delightful town of Alpine Helen. The condo is tastefully decorated and situated within a short walking distance from Helen Water Park. In addition to the water park, guests can enjoy the fun and excitement of tubing the Chattahoochee River in the summer months.

This condo is great for families or couples who want to be in town but off the main strip. The Chattahoochee River is only a short walk away and the condo has spectacular river views. 

After a busy day in Helen, shopping or trying one of the many delicious restaurants, guests can relax in the hot tub on the deck. The condo has a propane grill so you can grill your mountain trout or steaks to perfection and enjoy a bottle of local wine from one of the area's many wineries.

For outdoor enthusiasts, hiking trails are close by at Smithgall Woods, Dukes Creek, Raven Cliffs, Unicoi State Park, and many others. Sunburst Stables provides horseback riding and zip lines, while Unicoi State Park Lake is ideal for swimming & fishing in the summer months.

Helen stays busy all year round. Oktoberfest is a great time to visit & sample authentic German dishes while listening to music from the "old country." Visit Helen at Christmas and shop or take a horse-drawn carriage ride amongst the twinkling Christmas lights of Helen's winter wonderland.

Christmas at River's Edge

My family of 5 adults and 1 toddler had a wonderful stay at the River's Edge. The condo was warm, the beds were comfortable and the layout of the condo was perfect for our family, giving everyone a little privacy. We especially liked the downstairs suite which included a mini kitchen, washer/dryer and a hot tub on the deck. We wish we had been a little closer to downtown since it was a little cold to walk and traveling downtown in a car was not fun since Helen was very busy this time of year. We were especially pleased with the property management. The property was very clean and they were prompt in responding to our questions. This would be a great location in the summer to enjoy tubing down the River. Helen was beautifully decorated for Christmas and all the restaurants and shops were open. And the roller coaster was open too!! It was a memorable Christmas!!

This place was so relaxing

My friends and I wanted a nice place to relax while exploring what was offered in Helen. This place was great! It was so close to downtown, and it was so quiet when staying here. It was relaxing to go outside to hear the water, and we really enjoyed all the cookware to make dinners! I would definitely recommend!!

We absolutely loved out stay at Rivers Edge. The townhome was beautiful, very clean, and convenient to everything we wanted to do. My only suggestion would be to add some Christmas decore lol. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great Location

The place is right outside the hustle and bustle of Helen but close enough for convenience. The rental had everything we needed from fresh towels to a well appointed kitchen where we could have coffee and make breakfast. We appreciated the back deck as we spent quite a bit of time listening to the Chattahoochie River and watching various song birds. The beds were comfortable and there’s plenty of room to spread out if a family is staying. Very nice!

Great Property for the family

I loved this place. It was wonderful sitting on the balcony in the morning, drinking my coffee and listened to the water. The property was very clean and spacious. Lots of room for three 7 year olds to move. The location to local attractions couldnt be better. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay - each level has his own balcony with the view to the river ( we enjoy starting and ending the day there, especially if you like the hot tub). A very welcome place . We have some trouble starting the TV on the first floor, should be much easier not everyone is in the new technology era. Overall great place to stay not to far from restaurants, waterpark and other town attractions.

The property was exactly as the description on line. A short walk to the walking trail along the river which we enjoyed very much. We walked to Helen but it was probably 1 1/2 miles to town. Nice to be able to sit on the deck and watch and listen to the water flowing. We would definitely book this place again.

Gorgeous condo, very spacious and clean. The three levels allowed for plenty of living space, and the two hot tubs were terrific. The location was perfect, just far enough from downtown, but really almost walkable. We are so looking forward to our return trip!

Amazing Condo on the River

The property was beautiful next to a serene flowing portion of the Chattahoochee. My sin’s were able to through their fishing lines in while I could sit and relax in the hot tub. We walked most places downtown due to the great location. Owner thought of everything include family board games!! VBRO staff was helpful. I would stay again.

Perfect for MultiFamily

The home was well equipped. My sister and her daughter stayed on the lowest level of the home which was perfect for them. Plenty of privacy and a small kitchenette. The middle floor was open for all of us to gather in the evenings. The top floor is where I stay with my 2 boys. Spacious bedrooms and clean. The home had everything we needed. The only thing I could think of for a family of 6 staying 3 nights we were definitely short towels. We all had 1 towel each. Wasn’t a deal breaker but if your a towel hog like myself one for hair and one to dry off pack extras in your bag. Will definitely book agian.

Relaxing on the river

We had the best time enjoying our friends and family on the deck and in the hot tubs. The kitchen was big enough for all the ladies to cook together and we also enjoyed grilling out!! Plenty of room and great family place!!

No water access at the house

The house was wonderful and we really enjoyed the many different levels and space it offered for our family. Our only issue was not being told that you couldn't access the river from the property. We wish we had been told that because we had children with us that wanted to play in the water. There were no stairs leading down to the water and it was too grown up to hike down the steep bank to the flat spot. We called the management team twice to see if they could contact a neighboring property about us getting access to the water without having to drive to town, and both times they were friendly and stated they were working on it, but never called us back. We were also a little concerned there were no fire escapes on the third floor, but we never reached out and asked about it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the space the house offered.

Our stay on the Hooch

Very clean place, it was just like the pictures on VRBO. Drive to town was a little of walk from the townhome. It was quiet and the porches on the river were very nice to have. Customer service was great to work with and fixed our issue as quickly as possible. Would definitely stay here again . It’s perfect as every bedroom has its own bathroom plus a half bath downstairs in the main level.
