nice place -needs a bit of maintenance
the property and cabin where beautiful but-front electronic door lock did not work, no toaster, gas fireplace was difficult to get working, when it did it was barely working, tv and components where all unplugged and was a challenge to reconnect. shower on lower level had very poor flow. so a bit of maintenance would go along way in making this place a 5 star.. but its really nice even with a couple inconveniences. perfect lake -the view was 10 stars. We would stay again..

Sufficiently appointed and cozy
The chalet was as comfortable as it looks, and my eight friends loved the place, and the view of loon Lake. I was concerned that the lower-level bedrooms would be chilly, but there’s radiant heat in the slab so it was as comfortable as the main level. With nine single, mature adults staying together for a long weekend, none of us felt like we were crowding each other. At the time of this review, the description, photos and virtual tour are slightly outdated, so here’s what you’ll find in the way of beds: a pair of twin beds and one king bed on the lower level, two sets of twin beds and one king bed on the main level, and a trundle bed in the loft. The description also indicates a fireplace and a woodstove, but be assured there is only a gas fireplace on the main level, and an electric fireplace on the lower level (where apparently there once was a woodstove). We all found the beds very comfortable. A couple of caveats: The ignition on the grills didn’t work so be sure to bring a lighter with you since there were none on site. The gas fireplace didn’t turn on with the remote so you have to open the vent below the fireplace and move the switch on the small black box to the right. A terrific place overall!

Nice but.......
Beautiful location, swimming was great. Beds were awful, very soft and uncomfortable. Row boat was like the Titanic, leaked. Place needs to be updated.

Loon Lake Log Home
Lovely log home with private access to Loon Lake for swimming, fishing and all water activities. Lake water is clear and clean. Nice campfire area right on the the shore. Beautiful view of the loons diving and calling each other. Quick access to Rt 86 north to Lake Placid area. We came as a couple celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary but the home has plenty of room for an large or extended family comfortably. Plenty of activites to do within a days driving distance in all directions.

Family Fun on Loon Lake.
This home was the perfect place for two families to spend a week. The rooms are spacious and the house is so well placed on the lake. There are boats, games, a well stocked kitchen, and a deck to barbecue.

Beautiful home on Loon Lake!
We were a family of 6 looking for a winter vacation home. It was beautiful inside as well as outside. The lake was frozen and we loved walking around on the lake. It was minutes to all our activities. Skiing at Gore Mountain, Snow shoeing at the Natural Stone and Caves in Pottersvile, Sledding on Dynamite Hill, visiting Lake George, and snow tubing at West Mountain . After days of winter fun it was great to come home to a beautiful comfortable home! Everyone had their own room and we enjoyed the ping pong table and many games! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

Beautiful Lake Home
Enjoyed our stay, weather was perfect, all the facilities and more were there. There was 5 adults and 1 children and we had plenty of room, beds and bathrooms. Although, we had some days that were very humid, was wishing there was air conditioning, we dealt with it with the fans that were provided. The convenience of having a sandy beach was absolutely wonderful for our 4 year old, he was in the water everyday. Loved the paddle boat and the kayaks.

Good again...but, not great
This is our second year at this house on Loon Lake. Great setting, great location. Plenty of room for our family of nine. This year I thought some things needed updating. The outdoor chairs were mostly broken (caretaker noticed and replaced some), the sliding screens were off tracks and had lots of rips (we used tape to fix!). The fluorescent lights over the ping pong table were out...one worked but low light level. We couldn't see to play at night! The house was not really clean when we arrived. Lots of areas not even swept...especially the side by the dining room. We had a great time and hope some of these annoying problems are fixed for next year if we come back...my family is pretty easy!

Great house...
Our family of 10 plus a baby, loved this house. There was ample room for all of us. The weather during our week stay was very warm...we were thankful for all the fans in the house. Made use of the canoe and kayak and loved the floating dock. The family swam and fished...the lake was very clean. Was nice to have a yard and liked the trees that gave us privacy from the neighbors. Great location...close to Lake George and not far from Lake Placid. We had a wonderful vacation...thank you!!

Pros and Cons
We arrived to dirty towels in the master bath. A lawn service showed up in the middle of the day unannounced. Some cracked and broken chairs at beach. The cleaning crew arrived at 9:40am on check out day. The checkout is early enough at 10am. They parked three cars in our spot as we were at the dump (another inconvenience, I would revisit provided trash service). We paid half for same house two years ago. On the Pro side- the house is beautiful with lovely views, plenty of room, a very well stocked kitchen with plenty of boats to use. The downstairs bedrooms are a little musty smelling, but not awful, and the kids enjoyed ping pong. We had beautiful weather and were on the lake everyday. The loons came to visit daily and had two babies in tow and an eagle flew by daily to fish. I believe the nest was located across from us.

A Picture Postcard of the Adirondacks
This is a beautiful house, right on the water. With the floating dock and one you can walk out over the water, it is ideal for boating or swimming. This is a well-equipped house with plenty of room. With the new box springs and other little upgrades, it is an ideal place to vacation!

Great lakefront cabin!
Amazing cabin right on the lake, great character (upstairs), basically a finished basement downstairs. Tons of games, puzzles, books, dvds, ping pong table, etc. Well stocked kitchen with dishes, utensils, crockpot, spices, etc. Plus an outdoor grill. Several boating options, kayaks, canoe, pedal boat, life vests, etc. The owners have basically invited you into their home. Enjoy the view from the large deck, the loons and the red squirrels playing in the backyard!

Relaxing Well Appointed Retreat!
Our family had a lovely time relaxing at the house. It was well appointed in the kitchen and had everything we needed and then some. The hotel-style toiletries were wonderful, as well as the provided towels and linens. Our kids loved jumping in the crystal clear lake, even in October, and swimming to the shallow-water floating dock. The deck and yard are spacious and perfect for running around, playing football, grilling, relaxing, and having a bonfire with the most beautiful view. The home is easy access to surrounding towns, and we'd love to come back!

Moonbeams and Butterflies
Great house that more than adequately housed the 12 of us. We could all gather or scatter. And the location was great-Plenty to do paddle boat, canoe, kayaks, rowboat, and yard games at the cabin. Loon Lake has a Marina to rent a motor boat and Lake George is close by for exploring, Chestertown, is a quaint village with a variety of options for eating out. And the hiking in the area is great.

Cabin Life
Great views, spacious cabin. Fully stocked kitchen helped so we could cook all meals on site for a large group with no problems. The outside fire pit and wood stove downstairs were a nice treat for the cool fall weather. Lots of games and a fantastic ping pong table helped on rainy days. Two noteworthy items dropped the overall rating. The beds were quite uncomfortable. These were not just your normal “rental property” inexpensive mattresses, these were super loud uncomfortable beds that made it difficult to sleep well. Also, the downstairs had numerous spiders throughout our time there. It was bad enough that we went out and bought barrier spray and sticky traps to help minimize the impact. Understanding that cabins are susceptible to bugs (they are in the woods), this seemed quite excessive in the number of spiders and bugs. The beds and bugs were enough of an impact that several in the party would not rent this location again which is unfortunate because, otherwise, this was a fantastic venue.
