The house was clean and comfortable. The owner was easy to get ahold of and the check in process was easy. We visited the 100 giants trail and a few others in the area and had a very nice time.
I was a bit disappointed that a pool was listed as an amenity but it turns out it costs $15 per person to swim. The description also painted a picture of the house being in nature, with a creek right across the street. We imagined being able to do some nature hikes near by but you are surrounded by houses all with signs saying “private property” or “we don’t call 911.” You can’t get down to the creek because of all the houses. It’s one long road, aligned with houses. I was also disappointed to discover I had been charged an “extra person fee.” The owner explained that it was in anticipation of extra cleaning costs for anyone over 2 people staying. I thought that was a little shady. If housekeeping costs more, charge more and call it house keeping. Don’t slide it in under a different fee.
On the day we checked out, we drove to the Sequoia State Park and it should be noted, if the actual state park is your plan, that’s about 2 1/2 hours away.
Again, the owner was very friendly and the house was nice. I wish the description had been more accurate.
