This home has the privacy you like and yet activities for all seasons. When you are done fishing on Barker Lake, you can head to the historic nine-hole golf course just walking distance away or hop on your ATV and explore the Tuscobia Trail. Sevenwinds Casino is only 22 miles away for fun and entertainment. You are 30 miles from Hayward, home of the Muskie Festival, Lumberjack World Championship, Fat Tire Races, American Birkebeiner, and other Birkie events. In the winter, you can take off to the snowmobile trail enjoying the beauty of a northern Wisconsin winter. Or you can simply enjoy your time relaxing in a spacious house or on the deck overlooking the lake.

When you come in the door, the first thing you will see is the elevated south-facing picturesque open view. Available on the first floor is open living with fully equipped kitchen, 3-season sunroom, living/dining room, laundry room and 1/2 bath. Off the living room is the master bedroom with walk-in closet and 3/4 (shower) bathroom.

Upstairs is second bedroom with queen bed, walk-in closet and 1/2 bathroom. The loft has a daybed with trundle for extra sleeping.

The walk-out lower level has two more bedrooms--one room has a double bed and the other a twin-over-double bunk bed (perfect for the kids). The TV/game room with a queen sofa sleeper is another area for guests to congregate. The basement also includes 3/4 (shower) bathroom.

Summer break

House/cabin was great. No complaints at all. Very nice. Wish the lake was a bit bigger but can't complain about a bad day of fishing vs. work. Overall very nice!

Wonderful Stay

The property is beautiful, clean, and obviously loved. We had plenty of space for our family and everyone was comfortable. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the numerous feeders. We would definitely stay here again.

Our fav north woods cabin!

Colleen's cabin is a total delight. It's become a family favorite and we have returned now for another year. She is an amazing host. The home comfortably fits our extended family of 8 plus a toddler. The views are incredible. Everything is top-notch and well equipped. We can't wait to come back! THANK YOU!

Barker Lake Vacation Near Winter, Wisconsin

Great property located on beautiful Barker Lake, part of the Chippewa Flowage. The property is large and located on a quiet roadway in the woods. The house has many bedrooms and bathrooms for guests. The large deck, 3 season porch, and layout to the kitchen and living room is great. Location is close enough to Winter or Hayward for a variety of entertainment or dining options. The firepit is great for a relaxing evening.

Annual family fishing trip

This home was very spacious for our family of eleven including grandparents, parents, & grandkids. It accommodated our family very well with bedrooms & bathrooms on every floor. We played board games, relaxed in living room & season room. We had plenty of room to store groceries in kitchen pantry. Side-by-side refrigerator/ freezer gave us adequate room for food. Pots & pans were of great quality. Daily fishing off dock & out in our boats on the lake granted us a fish fry for the family. Small mouth bass & panfish were real tasty! We got alot of exercise going down to the dock since it is a long walk down & back up to the house. Grandsons took advantage of golfing on the course in walking distance. My husband & I visited Sevenwinds Casino and had some luck! Everyone watched plenty tv movies. One night we all sat by the bonfire & ate smores. Several nights we entertained ourselves playing bags. For several meals we cooked with gas grill. The owner provided bug repellent we used everyday! Owner provided paper towels, napkins, paper plates, salt, pepper, plastic silverware, soap, toilet paper and many more. This house was the best stocked house we have ever rented!

Cozy, peaceful and best family vacation ever!

We love the Hayward area and we were looking for a cabin that was large enough for us and our 2 sons with their families. We also like modern, open spaces, privacy and great fishing! Your cabin fit the bill perfectly! From the moment we walked in, the transition from home to vacation was easy. Big windows looking out at the deck, dock, and lake, comfortable sofa, chairs, cozy throws and pillows...we knew this would be a great weekend with our kids and grandkids. Each room was clean & comfortable. The downstairs was perfect for my son, his wife and 2 kids. Plenty of space and a nice den with TV. The upstairs & loft was great for my son, his wife and their 2 year old. The master suite on the the main floor was very comfortable and private. The kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed for cooking during our 4 day stay and the deck was a great place to eat and gather. The deck was my favorite place, shady in the morning and sunny in the afternoon, it was totally enclosed, making it perfect for young kids to run around with a beautiful view of the lake and dock. Lake Barker is a nice clean lake with great fishing and swimming. We spent late afternoons in floats, just relaxing and watching the sun set. All in all, this was probably our best family vacation place and would love to return!

Trip with the boys

Magical Stay in the North Woods!

We were completely thrilled with our stay at Colleen and Dean's beautiful home. It was in the perfect north woods location. The home fit our large extended family and we had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen and home was totally well equipped from cooking supplies, games to baby equipment and everything in between. Colleen communicated well and helped us when we had to adjust our arrival dates (due to a snow storm). The beds are super comfortable and the view perfection. We enjoyed the variety of woodpeckers at the feeders. We can't wait to come back. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely place! The Tardrew Family

Wonderful Home for our family stay!!

Our stay was perfect! We had 4 adult couples and there was plenty of room for everyone. The home was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfy stay! We used the canoe for a pleasant ride around the lake, life jackets, paddles etc. all handy, clean and ready to go. Centrally located. An easy drive to Hayward for shopping and a great pizza lunch at Coop's! Also a short drive to Winter, for a delicious fish fry at Dix's Chalet. Would definitely stay here again!!

Great cabin layout for multiple families

We had three families for our stay and felt the cabin was the perfect layout to feel together yet have your own space to relax when needed. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and appliances which made group meals so easy to prepare, enjoy, and clean up. Location was a great balance of quiet while also in a beautiful spot on an active lake!

Awesome Property

This was one of the nicest VRBO property I have rented. Everything was well stocked and there was nothing that was missing. The lake was great for swimming and kayaking. Screened in porch was very nice along with the deck overlooking the lake. I would highly recommend.

Barker lake vacation home

Beautiful home, beautiful property, quiet lake, property owner is very accomodating, and golf is literally just up the road. We had a group of 12 stay for 7 days with no issues. I look forward to future trips to this destination.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property for the convenient modern living surrounded by a rustic landscape. It is away from the congestion of more popular locations, which makes it ideal for privacy--but it is not too far from the Hayward-area festivals. We love how it is right off the snowmobile trail and close to other nature activities.
