About this property
Plantation Beach Club in South Seas Resort Available Week 9 2020, Feb 28 - Mar 6
Plantation Beach Club (PBC I) is a time-share resort on the grounds of the gated South Seas Resort on the island of Captiva, Florida. The unit is on the Gulf of Mexico with beautiful sunset views and a white, sand beach. PBC I has eighteen two bedroom, two bath condos with full kitchen facilities and a shared heated pool and tennis court. Unit 1017 is on the first floor (above the parking garage). It can be accessed by stairs or an elevator. The Master Bedroom has a King-sized bed. The second Bedroom has two twins. there is a pull-out sofa in the living room. Sleeps six.
The laid back atmosphere of Captiva is a great place to shed the tensions of the world.
Top Ten Things We Like To Do On Captiva/Sanibel
1. Visit the harbor and look for manatees among the boats.
2. Look for dolphins along the gulf beach and in Redfish Pass at the north end of the island.
3. Visit Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel. It is free to visit the visitor's center and is $5/car to drive the 4-mile refuge road. At low tide it is a huge concentration of water-birds, including white pelicans, roseate spoonbills, herons, egrets, etc.
4. Go shelling along the beach and learn the names of what you find using the poster in the condo.
5. Go to the Bubble Room for lunch or to share a desert. The orange crunch cake is wonderful.
6. Visit the Captiva Public Library on Chapin Ln. to read about the local history. Check out the photo albums of old Captiva life. (A visitor's library card is $15, I think.)
7. Attend the Chapel by the Sea on Sunday at 11:00. There is seating both inside and outside.
8. Go kayaking to Buck Key from Tween Waters (on Captiva Drive).
9. Have lunch at RC Otters. (Live music and good food.)
10. Visit the art galleries on Captiva and Sanibel.

Because PBCI is not part of South Seas Resort, some of South Seas' facilities are only available with the purchase of an amenities package. We have been vacationing at Plantation Beach Club for many years and have never felt the need to pay for their package. The optional package costs $19/person/day for everyone in your party over the age of 12. Below is a summary of what the package includes.
Trolley (We ride bikes, walk, or drive around the complex. Bikes or golf carts can be rented in town.)
Golf Course (The fee allows access to the golf course, but does not cover fees to play.)
Tennis Complex (Our condo has its own tennis court across the street.)
Fitness Center
Sunset Beach (You have complete access to the beach. Sunset beach is an area of beach that is used by patrons who do not have direct access. Without paying the amenities fee you would not have access to their chairs, but you would not likely go to their beach when you have your own beach right outside the condo.)
Kid's Club
Wireless Internet (There is wireless high-speed internet in each unit.)
The Point Restaurant (There are other restaurants available. This one just happens to be in the pool complex.)
Main Pool (Our condo has its own pool.)
