The Sea Star, Previously known as Cocoa's Cabana. Authentic, newly renovated, beach house directly on the sugar white sands of the Gulf of Mexico in Gulf Shores, AL!

Look no further for your perfect home away from home on the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Quiet, yet close to dining, shopping, and festivals. This spacious, comfortable beach home is waiting for you with its mesmerizing views and large relaxing deck. If you love the sound of waves and the sparkle of clear blue waters, this is the vacation rental for you. Watch dolphins play, help baby sea turtles find their way home, or float the day away, right in front of your vacation home. The name of this home is Cocoa's Cabana- all who visit know they are experiencing a well-deserved vacation away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

This house has added a 3rd bathroom! Bedroom layout as follows:
King Bedroom with bathroom

King Bedroom shares a full hall bathroom
Bunk Bedroom (one twin over twin bunk, one full over full bunk)

Important Information
*Primary guest must be 25 years or older unless approved by Signature Properties.

Due to fraud, a driver's license and selfie must be uploaded as well as a Tenant Vacation Rental Agreement with Signature Properties must be electronically signed to secure your reservation.

Cancellation Policy:
A reservation deposit of 25% is due at time of reservation and will be applied to total amount. The balance of the total amount is due on or before 90 days (house) or 60 days (condo) or 180 days (rentals more than 13 nights) from arrival.

A 60 day notice (condos) or 90 day notice (houses) or 180 days (rentals for more than 13 nights) from arrival date is required for any cancellation to receive a refund of deposit. The $99 Reservation Fee is non-refundable and a Cancellation Fee of $100 will apply. If less than required notice is given, every effort will be made to re-rent the property. If we are unable to rent the property, no refunds will be due. If the property is re-rented at full rental rate, you will receive a refund less the Cancellation Fee and Non-Refundable Reservation Fee.

Very nice house, it looked newly renovated. The house was clean and beds were comfy. It’s in a good location. Beach access was perfect!! The booking was easy. They kept in touch during our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. Our entire experience was great!!

Fall beach trip

The house was very nice. Great location. The bed frame on one of the beds broke during the night, we informed the property manager the next morning, and they had someone there within an hour to correct it. I would definitely stay here again.

Fall Break

This was a great week. The Sea Star should be the Shining Star. It was clean, cute, and current! The house was well stocked with great kitchen utensils and full appliances that worked well for us. We will be back!

First Family Vacation

My wife and I stayed here with our 11-month-old son for a week. The house was in a great location. It was the perfect distance from the crowds, but still close to all the shopping and food options. The home was completely updated and felt like a high-end private home. Everything was extremely cozy and clean. We could not have asked for anything better.

Beach was not crowded as the property is between the public access points ( about a half mile on each side) . We utilized the outdoor area more than anything . It had The best view and comfortable seating for dining or lounging . The kitchen was well stocked , which was great as we cooked all meals , avoiding restaurant crowds . The property management service was quick to handle the one issue we had on arrival( two tv’s wouldn’t work and WiFi not connected but they had a tech out within the next day, fixed everything no problem . We really enjoyed this property and hope to return to it .

Great Location but bare minimum

My family of 8 adults all stayed comfortably at Jus Piddlin! We originally booked another house back in December but got a call two months before our trip that it was cancelled due to a pipe burst. So this was the house available during our stay. It’s a prime location! Not too busy and a perfect view! I would say the thing this VRBO is missing is details. You have to bring EVERYTHING. No sugar, coffee filters, beach towels, charcoal, etc. No rugs or personal touches which makes sense because this is a company owned and not family owned. The downstairs bathroom has a bit of a bug problem but all beds and sheets were comfortable and clean. The fridge takes a long time to get cold enough to keep your items cold. We were nervous our milk and meat would go bad but after a couple days it got cold. I just think this VRBO could invest in a better fridge, rugs, better bath towels, and outdoor chairs that you can see the view when you sit outside. Overall we had a great time!

Wouldn’t stay again

The view from the living room is really beautiful which is why I gave a couple stars, but we had several issues with our stay and will not be staying here again. Check in was stressful. We were supposed to be sent a code through an app and we didn’t get one. I had to call and leave a message and then speak with someone on the phone and then wait on them to text me with it. After a long drive with a baby it was frustrating. Also we had requested a pack and play and it was not in our unit so we had to call again about that. They brought it by an hour or so later. The management company wanted to do a repair one day and we said that was fine, but asked that they come during a 2 hour window from 12-2 when our baby was napping and that’s exactly when they came and did the very noisy repair. There is no boardwalk out to the beach so my mother in law had a hard time walking in the soft sand all the way to the beach and only went out once. There are also sharp nails sticking out of parts of the deck and the deck stairs are pretty precarious. I actually tripped down them toward the end of our trip and now have a small fracture in my foot. Definitely a bummer to spend part of your vacation in the urgent care!

Can’t get much better than this!

Reviewer Comments: I can’t say enough about how nice this stay was for our family of 6 plus our “granny nanny.” From the outdoor shower to the composite wood lighted steps and deck and deck furniture to the great room with comfy furniture and really attractive lighting options to the spotless, well-supplied kitchen to the smart TVs in every room, the 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathroom (plus another bathroom shared by the other 2 bedrooms and open to the hallway)—it just was so comfortable for everyone. It definitely felt like a getaway for our family. It’s located in a stretch of beach pretty distant from the condo towers so there was plenty of room on the beach to spread out and have space. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the small side, but everything is perfectly functional and comfortable. The property management was excellent and accommodating with great, unsolicited offers for help and simple instructions. We will definitely look up this property for our next beach trip.

Perfectly Perfect

The large, open living, dining, and kitchen provided a lot of space for our entire group to hangout comfortably. The back deck was a hit when taking a break from the sand and for watching the stars in the night sky. We loved everything about this home. If I had one suggestion, it would be a hook on the door to hang a make-up bag, towel, or clothes on when showering in the back left bathroom and maybe a rug just inside the door into the main living area. Those things definitely did not break the deal. This home would be one we would rent again.
