Smoke and mirrors
First off, It was unsettling that I had to download another app other than the homeaway where we make all our vacation rentals at and with. We love the home away app but when have to use an app from another source I dont feel as secure being that we have booked through homeaway many times.
We had to download the "hospitality "app and the process was not simple and frustrating!
The condo we rented listed it with a pool view which was one of the reasons we decided on it and had a photo in the listing. Wrong! No pool! The pool in the listing was about 50 feet from the back window in the listing and when we got there we saw that we would have to drive to the pool...not cool! The instruction on how to enter the condo were incomplete so I had to call for the home office to get the right code...pain in the butt! There was no hot water that night because the place hadn't been rented in a while and they turn off the the water heater to save entergy. I can appreciate that but they need to have the place set up when customers arrive. I figured out that it was a light switch that turned on the heater in the mechanical closet, so I turned it on and waited an hour for it to heat up. After a long flight and travel day and as hot as it was, my wife and I were ready for a shower! We turned on the water for the shower and the smell of rotten eggs was so bad had to leave the condo, open the windows and let all the cold air out, and wait for the place to air out! It helped a little but the smell of eggs was still in the air!
The couch was stained pretty bad and the bed was left unsaid so we couldn't really tell if the linens were clean or not! I could go on but I think I will stop here and hope that the next time I use the homeaway app thatthe situation is different for us! I k ow not all places are going to be the best but this really was a dump!
