Great Place, stinky water

The cabin was awesome. It's in a good location, has decent views, and is pretty well-stocked. My only complaint, and I hope the owners address it, is that the well water smells bad. It may be a seasonal thing but during our stay in December, the smell was so bad we avoided turning on the water as much as possible. Showers were a huge struggle to get through.

Nice getaway

We really enjoyed our stay here. The views were fantastic. We enjoyed cuddling up by the fireplace. The Christmas tree was a very nice touch for us to enjoy over our holiday. Our dog loved being able to chill on the porch and watch the birds and other animals while my husband and I relaxed. My only note would be for anyone reading these reviews is the driveway is STEEP. We had some snow coverage on the day we were leaving. The main roads were fine but we struggled to get out of the driveway with 4 wheel drive.

Cozy Cabin Review

My husband I enjoyed the cabin. We were aware that the cabin had basic supplies needed for a short stay. We did not realize that meant there would be no coffee filters for the coffee machine. I would suggest including that in the section where it is mentioned salt and pepper are not supplied. The washer/dryer stack was difficult to use because not all of the settings work and you have to figure that out for yourself as it is not listed. There was an unfortunate amount of dust in the cabin and the air filter vent next to the fridge was very dirty. The thing that concerned us most was how things were plugged in in the bedroom. Two plugs had attachments to allow for more plugs. Extension cords were then plugged into those attachments to power the TV across the room and the router/hand held phone. My husband is a firefighter and was nervous about this. I want to be clear that we VERY much enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was amazing and the Christmas tree in the living room was so cute. The view from the deck is absolutely beautiful. While we had a good experience here and in TN in general, we will not be returning to any Bear Tootin’ properties.

Almost perfect anniversary get a way

Everything was wonderful except the water. The water smelled like rotten eggs. Definitely needs an ionizer changed out in the hot water tank. We opted to not use the whirlpool due to the water issue. Other than that it was awesome and would definitely come back.

Fairly clean just very old; sulfuric tap water

This cabin has a great view of the smoky mountains and is only about 10 minutes from the pigeon forge strip. The property was fairly clean and tidy. We weren't given enough towels for 5 days so we had do a load of laundry in the run down washer and dryer (which had to be ran twice). The jacuzzi wasn't able to fill up all the way before the hot water ran out. The tap water is highly sulfuric (shower water, sink water, etc) and so is the water filter attached to the fridge. We had to buy bottled. It's also not as secluded as the pictures show. We won't be going back to this cabin.

Nice cabin but you need more info

The cabin was just as described and great for 2 people BUT if renting this you should know more. First, they don’t provide shampoo(which I went back and read my email and they never said anything about shampoo being provided) but still. Secondly, the water stinks. I believe this is probably because of the location of the cabin being on a mountain so maybe it’s well water or something like that. Third, the TV in the bedroom didn’t work. You can conceivably watch the tv in the family from the bedroom if you really wanted and it wasn’t a big deal for us. Fourth, there was a family of squirrels that were outside in the covered porch area that would get in the wood and make noise. They never did it late at night and seemed to wait for a little bit in the morning too before they started. We didn’t care because we understand that we were in nature and even named them. Cabin is great just wanted future guests to get the whole idea before renting.

Great views!

We were a little disappointed we were emailed that the hot tub didn’t work after our booking and the bathroom had a funky smell but other than that it was a great location and a cozy cottage ! The views were amazing and we were close enough to everything we wanted . Bonus : we seen fire works in the night sky above the tree tops! It was awesome!

No hot tub

Cabin is nice and in a nice location. With that being said the hot tub was broke a week before our stay, which I understand things happen but $25 a night refund for lack of the one amenity this cabin has was not cutting it. We were not able to cancel and book somewhere else because it was in the 30 days and we would have lost ALL of our money, even though it was not our fault we were wanting to cancel. Who wants to stay in a cabin without hot tub....... Also upon arrival the pull out bed had blood stains and dirt all over it. Lesson learned we will not be dealing with this company again. They did answer us but they were very difficult to work with and not understanding or very concerned with the issues we had. We did receive another refund for the dirt but all in all this stay wasn't worth 1/2 of what we had to pay even with the refunds (which were not sufficient in my book at all) I MIGHT have been happy with 1/2 off but we didn't even get close to that. Oh and I asked to be moved to another cabin and that idea was not entertained either. Like I said we won't be back. Pigeon Forge is a 1/2 point between our home and our daughters college we have stayed in plenty of other places that were nicer and way easier to work with.

Nice cozy cottage but.......,.

The cottage wasn't thoroughly cleaned the water smelled so bad we had to use bottle water to bath and wash off food. The lights in the bathroom didn't work, the toilet stopped up several times and the bubbles from the jacuzzi backed up in the toilet, the remotes need to be labeled, the deck and back porch need to be cleaned off and cob webs removed, dog fur was all over cabin human plugs of hair found around cabin floor, the wash machine didn't drain water from load of clothes and also the hot tub didn't work and wasn't notified until after property was rented and a tear was on the bottom of couch that was glued on which means it was previously repaired

Amazing!

Nice place to stay to get the full experience of being in the mountains. Definitely out of the way though from everything, 25 min to downtown gatlinburg, 15 min to pigeon forge. But It’s nice to get away from traffic at night and have some nice and quiet time. Overall loved it! Water does have sulfur smell but very clean place!

Beautiful Cabin

It was a beautiful cabin! The pictures make it look a little bigger than it really is, but it was a good size for us and was still really pretty with a good view of the mountains in front of the property. I agree the water smelled like sulfur, but we just let the faucet run with cold water for a minute and it went away every time. We live in a house with well water, so we’re used to that. And I’ve noticed there’s some bad reviews about the driveway and the incline..We drove a Ford Edge and we didn’t have any problems getting there. It was just a typical mountain incline that comes with staying in pigeon forge/Gatlinburg, so we have no complaints of that at all. There also wasn’t a drain plug in the tub, so we couldn’t use it like we were excited about doing. But other than that, we were very happy about our stay!
