This home is amazing and perfect for a larger group. The pictures don’t even do the property justice, everything was perfect. Michael was very communicative and quickly answered any questions we had. We will definitely be back!
Lovely country house and grounds (pool, pickleball, basketball)
Wonderful, spacious, comfortable house with great amenities— sports court (with equipment), pool, piano, library, foosball, board games, great kitchen! Host was friendly, generous and responsive. Would recommend this place for a family getaway, reunion, multi-family vacation, etc. While the host provides great information about surrounding attractions and restaurants, the property has so many wonderful amenities and activities so you don’t have to leave — we loved cooking and eating on the great deck. Nice garden and local wildlife viewing — our dog loved staying here, too!
We travel often, and have stayed at many vacation properties all over the world. Mike’s place is unique because it doesn’t feel like a rental property, it feels like you are a guest at a friend’s home. Mike and his family have clearly thought of every aspect of your stay - from an incredibly well stocked kitchen (including a great selection of cookbooks) to super comfortable furnishing in every room (and at the pool deck), to detailed instructions on how to use everything in the house (peppered with sophisticated humor).
Mike himself is proactive in his communication, and checked in with us prior to our arrival, and during our stay. He’s super quick with his responses and genuinely cares about your experience.
The place was spotless, super-well maintained, and everything you might need is accessible and right at your fingertips. (Including toys and books for younger children (wooden blocks /duplo, etc) which you frequently don’t have at vacation properties, as well as fun family board games for an older crowd).
We are so happy we discovered this gem of a place, and look forward to returning to enjoy the R&R and family fun Mike’s place offers. Thanks Mike!
Everything about this property is wonderful and I cannot say enough great things about it. Lots of space, clean, amenities are excellent, host is so friendly! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway house.
We had a great time staying here as two families with children. The house is very large, with lot's of fun things to do for both children and adults. I would highly recommend it!
Mike was so easy to work with— he is a great communicator and was happy to accommodate my needs. Perfect house for a large group, kid friendly and an easy drive to town center. I can’t wait to go back! And the pickleball court was a family favorite !
I celebrated my birthday here during covid, and had to make sure each bubble had its own room. Mike was very accommodating, even setting up an extra bed for us. There was plenty of space for each group to eat - dining table, kitchen table, kitchen, counter, outside table, couch table, etc. We hired a chef crew to come (recommended in the big guide book) and it was a great experience. I would definitely stay here again - although I wish it had a hot tub for viewing the beautiful stars at night!
Such a great stay! Mike and Nancy were attentive, generous hosts, always available by text and phone during our stay. An 19-page compendium tells you about every feature of the house which didn’t feel like a rental but a home friends might have lent you. There was an abundance of stuff, unlike what you usually find in a rental. The kitchen, pantry and laundry room had everything you could possibly want to cook and host meals, including two dishwashers and two washer-dryers. During a sudden rolling blackout we went searching for flashlights and found four of them ready to go, and tons of candles. Also, piles of towels, pool towels, linens, napkins, etc. It felt as though everything had been thought of and provided for. Our grandson was even fortunate to find a treasure trove of toys left for him by Mike and Nancy’s little boy. The rooms were large, comfortable and pristine, important in these trying times. The setting felt a bit like being in an Italian movie, with a pickle ball court nestled in the trees, a charming overgrown garden replete with roses, tomatoes, herbs and fruit trees, and a pool overlooking a grove of California oak trees. The lawn by the house is a perfect place for children to play. Overall, there’s an old-fashioned, summers-gone-by charm to this place, a sense of peace and remoteness accentuated by its position at the end of a private road, yet it’s only ten minutes to downtown. We highly recommend Mike and Nancy’s lovely home and we will be back!
This is a wonderful place to just relax and be with family/friends. We had our two grown children, their spouses and a four month old baby. The home is very nice and private/quiet. The pool is heated and there is a pickle ball court and basketball hoop. Our family enjoyed all three! The owner, Mike, was totally responsive and the book for the home really answers any questions you might have promptly and is very easy to work with. The kitchen is very large and the owners have everything you need to cook meals. They even have two coffee makers, two dishwashers, two large refrigerators and two washers/dryers. We went to several very good wineries close by . Also went to Napa which was only a little over an hour away. Beds are very comfortable and there are tons of extra sheets and towels in the utility room. All in all, it is the best rental home we have stayed at. Would totally recommend!
My family absolutely loved this property. Our group had people ranging in ages form 8 - 72, and there was plenty of space to spread out and get some extra alone time when some of us needed it. We liked that there is a separate TV room so that those who were not interested in watching/hearing it had other nice living spaces to hang out in. The kids (and adults) loved the pool and pickle ball / basketball court. The big kitchen made it easy to prepare meals for our large group. Mike was a responsive host who took care of everything we needed very quickly. Just a really nice house/property with a very relaxing feeling to it.
We absolutely loved staying at this property! The house is beautiful, clean and so large. It was also fully stocked with all of the necessities and amenities. We cooked most of our meals in the house and there was nothing that this house didn't have! The pool and deck area is great and so relaxing and we also made good use of the pickle ball court. Perhaps what we liked most about this house was the laid back attitude of it all. The owners let us have access to just about everything and asked that if we used any of there consumables, that we replace it. Also, Mike, the owner kept checking in to see if we were okay and was very responsive when we had questions. Would definitely recommend this as the perfect house for a getaway. So close to wine country and also the Russian River!

About the host

I was born and bred on the East Coast (Jersey and NYC) but moved to San Francisco a few years ago. I used to work in technology - I was a co-founder of a startup in the education space - but I recently shifted career directions and now work in the real estate industry. I love making bagels, lox and cream cheese in my spare time.
If I've made a batch recently, I'll leave a bit of my lox in the fridge for you. You're on your own for the bagels since they only keep for a day.
Why they chose this property
If you're considering some time away with friends and / or family, I think you'll love our home. It's got ample space for 2 - 3 families or a work group to relax and enjoy the sunshine, outdoor activities, food and wine for which Sonoma County is famous.
