There is a double bed and dresser in the cheerfully decorated second bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with a full-sized fridge and antique looking Elmira woodstove electric range. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal or BBQ with and is also equipped with an antique hosier. The 3 piece bathroom has a shower, Mexican sink, counter top and toilet
The 32 foot deck extends 12 feet out towards the water which is only 15 feet away. Enjoy sunrises, morning coffee, reading, watching the kids play or morning yoga, on the deck, right outside your door. There is a man-made, sandy beach for the kids to play at, a gradually slopping boat launch, suitable for any water craft to be unloaded at and a 24 ft dock to park your play toys at. If you are short on your own play toys, there are a kayak and a14 ft fiberglass canoe to use.

Bass Cove is a quiet dead end road so bring your bikes and enjoy the loop and friendly quiet neighborhood. It is 12 minutes from the Glenora Ferry which gets you to Prince Edward County, the Sandbanks, Bloomfield's eclectic shops and the many wineries and micro breweries in the area. It is only 40 minutes to downtown Kingston if you should fancy a night out or 25 mins to Napanee or Picton. Both communities are also easily accessible by boat.

Beautiful quiet location in a funky cottage on the water's edge

Property quaint and beautiful setting but felt very much like someone else's home. Water craft and beach very limited. Needed a thorough clean and sheets provided for that price.

Magnifique endroit

Lovely spot, kind hosts

The cottage was a thoughtfully appointed, and lovingly cared-for space, stocked with everything you need, and with a gorgeous deck overlooking the lake. There was plenty to do, as the cottage was close to a walking loop, cycling routes through gorgeous countryside, and some of the best beaches in the province. And when lounging about, there was often an opportunity for a chat with the friendly neighbours. We had an adventure on the first day -- the fridge gave out in sweltering weather -- and Marty and Alex stored our food and went in search of a replacement fridge, which is no small feat in a pandemic. They got us sorted quickly and gifted us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. We left well rested with good memories and kind thoughts for our gracious hosts. Thank you for a lovely stay, Marty and Alex!

Cute getaway

The very cute cottage was comfortable and just right for our friends' getaway. We spent most of our time on the deck where the patio furniture was very comfortable and the view was great. The host Marta was very good. A great communicator and very friendly and helpful.

Perfect Getaway

This is very nice property with a view to die for! All the amenities needed for a comfortable stay and a well outfitted kitchen. We had a week of beautiful weather and practically lived on the spacious outdoor deck which looks exactly as advertised. The ferry access to Picton is very close and well run for some nice day outings! Very restful stay in a charming environment. Marta and Alex are both very hospitable and genuinely nice people. l would definitely rent again.

A wonderful visit

October is a fabulously beautiful time to stay at this cabin. The foliage was spectacular and the lake was quiet because most of the boats were out for the winter. Could not have been better.

Lovely waterfront cottage

We absolutely loved our stay at Marty and Alex’s waterfront cottage. The location is beautiful, the cottage is filled with all the amenities and the hosts were delightful. We watched the sunset across the lake every evening from the patio and enjoyed swimming and bbqing every day. The wine County was a bonus. Truly a gem of a place! We enjoyed our stay very much and we are hoping to come visit again next year!

Perfect getaway

We had such an amazing time staying at Marty and Alex's home. The photos do not do justice to how comfortable and relaxing the space is. Tofu was a little prince visiting us and we loved their dogs as well - pets are always a bonus for us when we are travelling. Kitchen had everything needed to make dinner and the back deck was our favourite spot to hang out and listen to the water. We plan on going back next year for sure!

We loved this place!

We were greeted by our hosts and their lovely pets and given the tour, then left to settle in. We were able to relax right away and enjoyed the beautiful patio most of our days with daily multiple dips in the lake and a paddle in the canoe. It’s an easy drive to Napanee for groceries, and a fun excursion to Picton on the ferry. Everything worked well, and we didn’t want for anything. The best part was the resident cat, Tofu. He came to hang out with us throughout the day and he was just a delightfully friendly little guy. Marta and Alex made sure we had all we needed and attended to things like the BBQ propane right away. We were very sad to leave and will definitely be back.

Relaxing couples vacation

Beautiful property right on the water. Bedroom door opens up to hear the water lapping and the nature. Excellent deck for reading, BBQing or just looking at the boats going by. Cottage had everything we needed and proximity to PEC was a bonus.

About the host

Hosted by Marta Lambert

Host profile image
We are a couple of empty nesters who are eagerly transitioning into "early retirees" and avid travelers. As such, we are finding that we don't really need a full-time residence all year long and are able to share our comfortable, eclectic little cottage. We love to camp and travel in the summer in our 1974 VW Westy, with our two affectionate Dalmatians, so our cottage is available for others to enjoy.
We are veteran hosts, as we previously owned a 5 bedroom house with 2 one bedroom apartments at our home in Prince Edward County. We will typically greet guests when you arrive for your week long stay, make sure you are comfortable and equipped with all that you need and then we will quietly retreat to or tipi at the back of the property to pack and leave for our own adventures.

Why they chose this property

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! The true beauty of our cottage is its diversity! It's man-made beach, boat launch, dock and included play toys make it unnecessary to leave the property. However, its proximity to "The County" , Napanee and Kingston mean that day trips, for whatever you fancy, are minutes away. You can boat to Picton in 15 minutes, or take the quaint Glenora ferry only a 12 minute drive away.

What makes this property unique

Our humble cottage is the full-time residence of a couple of professionals, striving to get out of the rat race. The cottage is our expression of the tiny house movement. It has been furnished with the favourite items from our two larger homes and we have made comfort, practicality, beauty and our environmental foot print, priorities.
