House was in a protected cove. We were able to launch our kayaks and fish with no issue with the evening wind. Frank was a great host, very straight forward check in and check out process.
The lake water has a sewer smell, maybe it's just that time of the year?
The owner was easy to work with.

Disppointed
While we have stayed in a number of VRBO homes, this is the first time we felt compelled to thoroughly clean the home, inclusive of purchasing and installing replacement shower curtains. The home is stocked with uncomfortable furniture and beds, and general miss-matched "Dollar Store" junk. In a hope of being able to take advantage of the lakeside location, it was necessary for me to purchase a rack and hoe and spend several hours working to remove significantly overgrown weeds and misc. debris from the yard.
Our disappointment was to the level that we were willing to forfeit the money spent on rental and leave the home on Day #1, if we had we been successful in locating another available home.
So hard to find wheelchair access property on the lake. This place has it. Host is attentive and understanding. Hope to make it back for fall fishing season.
Great stay and good disability access. Will be coming again

Cannot use the lake and the entire lake smells!!!!
The property manager was very prompt and helpful. We could not use the dock because it was full of thick algae which was the entire reason why we picked this house. However, when we tried few other marinas around the lake the algae level was either the same or worse so we could not use the lake at all- it was not safe to be o the water which we did not know prior booking…The smell of the entire county was like a cow manure, that included the house unfortunately …. To top all of this , the house had only one stand up ac for cooling the. Entire house which of course did nothing , it did not even bring the house down to 85 F and we could not open the windows even late at night because of the manure like smell! You would think there were cows all around the house … yes it was pretty bad!!! All of this should have been put as a note to the listing- not just this one but all of the clearlake properties !!!!
I had great communication with Frank. The check in was very easy. We had a very welcoming surprise in the fridge upon our arrival. The home was clean and well stocked. We found some nice surprises like games and binoculars. It was very warm weather during our stay and thankfully there was an A/C and fans to help keep us cool. The deck was very nice to hang out on and had a very nice gas grill that we enjoyed in the evenings. Do not let the normal Clear Lake algae bloom and smell from it deter you as we saw our neighbors show that it a good place for fishing. We had a nice view of the 4th of July fireworks too! The only things that could use a little attention is the living room carpet and the stove top. The entire stay was reminiscent of going to visit a grandparent or aunt at their cottage. It was comfy and we would stay again. :)
Property location was awesome!! Very quiet atmosphere, loved the view. Didn’t”Spent time on the deck, had a bbq, and did some fishing!! I would stay again.
Totally hassle free process, dock was perfect for the boats, sleeping arrangements a bit difficult for 3 couples. Perfect for a guys only fishing trip or single family with kids!
It was peaceful stay. Was able to enjoy the dock for fishing. Some of the item need to be replaced like- grill, microwave, blender tat are not functioning properly. Also a new DVD system or perhaps TV connection. Beside that, It was a relaxing place.
My sons 40th we went fishing-stories for another day. If your into fishing and want your own private dock, you came to the right place.
Thanks for all the convinces. Will check this one for a return visit.
The house was perfect and Frank was great to deal with. We brought a boat to do some fishing and the dock at the house was great. Stayed three days and only had to launch the boat one time! Can’t wait to go back and sure hope this house is available when we do!
Everything you need to enjoy your stay and experience at Clear Lake. Easy Lake access, backyard dock, the cabin is spacious, clean, and comfortable. Frank is always a email away with immediate response for any questions you may have.
The house was set up nicely with a nice back deck overlooking the water. The open kitchen and dining room make use of the lake view. Everything was great!

Made the best of it
We came for the lake and then were disappointed that we couldn’t swim because of the algae and bacteria. Apparently this is a known problem at Clear Lake. Thanks to helpful neighbors, we went offsite to nearby Blue Lakes, Cache Creek and Highland Springs and managed to have a good time. The views from the deck are spectacular! We saw otters and ducks and a great blue heron. Morning and evening are the best times because it gets to be 95+ degrees during the day. At times, the odor from the water was unpleasant. The general feel of this part of the lake is run-down and depressed but the neighbors were friendly. The cabin itself is as pictured - small and a bit dark. Master bed comfy but smaller rooms were pretty pokey and unventilated. Kitchen adequately equipped for cooking. House was clean but old carpet is stained in places. Communication with Frank the owner was easy. There was and air conditioner and some fans but hard to keep the house cool. We desperately needed an affordable getaway near the Bay Area and we got it and had a great time despite the negatives. We would probably choose the west side of the lake next time for water quality.
The property was bigger than the photos show. The view was beautiful and the area was nice and quiet. We enjoyed playing a few of the board games stored there.
We booked this at the last minute on a weekday, so choices fewer, but this place was a good choice and very fairly priced. Nice deck and very nice view of the lake. Clean and comfortable but small. The location is near the City of Clear Lake so houses are fairly close together and we were a little concerned about disturbing the neighbors while talking on the deck. It is important to keep in mind that this is truly a cabin and a bit rustic with a bit of that 50's family lake cabin feel to it. We would certainly consider staying there again in the future.
This property was in a great location. The backyard was awesome, a great big patio and plenty of room to hangout. For the most part, the house was clean and the living room was spacious. Would book again.
