This was an excellent spot for our family to explore Yellowstone, Montana, and nature. Kate and her family were great hosts, and the horseback riding was amazing!!
Amazing location and views! Right next to the creek which was beautiful and on property you can see for miles! True feeling of Montana. Kate was so great to talk to and our horse back riding trip with her and her family was absolutely perfect!
This was our second stay at this property (previously 2021). Little had changed. The house is very clean, comfortable, attractively furnished, and well-equipped. All is in good working order. The setting is remote and very private with Indian Creek flowing beside the house amongst large, old cottonwoods. The water level was rather high this year, providing a wonderful symphony of rushing water all night along with a cool breeze coming in the bedroom window. All in all, a very delightful place to relax and recharge, a pleasant hiking trail beginning right on the property, and friendly hosts who are available if needed.
Beautiful rustic clean property. Slept soundly with the help of clean mountain air and the sound of Indian Creek out our window. The only bad thing was is that we didn't get to see any bears, but seen almost everything else, and didn't make time for a horse back ride. Highly recommend if you like being off the beaten path but with great wifi connection.
Best kept secret in Madison Valley.. Coming from our ranch in Texas, we appreciated their authentic dedication to the western lifestyle. Family-run operation in the middle of God’s country. Indian Creek was the perfect small-stream water after a long day on the big crowded rivers. Thank y’all very much.
We had a wonderful stay at the CB Ranch Guest House. The house is well-stocked with everything you need, and the space is very comfy. The wrap-around deck is a wonderful spot to enjoy coffee and dinner by the creek! Near the guest house, there are great spots to fish, hike, and we were able to take a nice horseback ride around Kate’s ranch for a couple hours. Kate was very friendly to and easy to communicate with. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly return!
Even better than we expected. Very nice house, very comfortable. Very quiet - about the only noise we heard was the sound of the creek alongside, which was very pleasant. There are about five - ish miles of dirt roads to get there, but they were okay. We had a little rental car but it handled them fine. About an hour easy drive to Yellowstone west entrance. Close proximity to trout fishing on the Madison River. This was perfect!
If you're looking for a place off the beaten path that offers solitude, peace, great sunsets and big skies then this is the place. The home is well kept, extremely clean and has what you need for a comfortable stay. But, what makes it so special is what you experience outside. The ranch is beautiful. The creek outside the front door will surely wash away any stress and lull you to sleep each night. Then wake up refreshed to big blue skies. Enjoy dinner out on the deck as you take in the fresh mountain air and all the sounds. Feel free to take a walk, soak in the sunset or go for a hike nearby up Indian Creek Trail. Kate is a great host! I can't say enough about her or the ranch. Loved it all... Beauty Abounds!
Our family of 6 had an amazing visit at the Bear Creek Guest House. Kate was an excellent hostess from booking to checkout. She gave us many tips of local things to do with the kids on the days that we didn't visit Yellowstone NP. The home was a perfect size for 6. There are 2 large beds and 2 twins (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms). The home was extremely clean and comfortable. The beds were all very cozy. The large deck was so fun to sit out on and read or bird watch. The home is about 50-60 minutes from Yellowstone West Entrance. It is a beautiful drive and passes by Earthquake Lake (and the visitor center, which is very interesting!) and Hebgen Lake. The home is about 25-30 minutes from the cute town of Ennis; this town has everything you might need from church to shopping to restaurants. The most special part of our stay was the setting of the home. It was spectacular. The home sits right next to a rapid river (although we visited during early summer and there was a lot of rain so I'm sure it is slower later in summer). The river is beautiful and the sound of it lulled us to sleep at night. Behind the home is wilderness and mountains. The home is secluded yet it is fairly close to the owners' home so you don't feel completely disconnected. The owners have sweet dogs and a cat that my kids loved. They also have horses and we all enjoyed horseback riding on the ranch one afternoon. The wildlife is abundant! We saw antelope, deer, hawks and eagles around the home. There is no internet at the house and with a 16,14,11, and 9 year old, I was wondering how they would handle it. It was the best vacation ever without technology! There are games at the home and Kate has a ton of books. The kids played games and we bought a few DVDs. It was amazing to truly unplug. Our family stays in at least one VRBO per year and this has been our very favorite so far. If you are looking for TRUE relaxation and family time this is definitely the home for you!
The house was exactly as it was described and simply perfect. Got the opportunity to meet the hosts and personally thanked them for sharing this location. Hope to repeat in the future!
Selected this as our base camp for my Bucket List visit to Yellowstone. Although the ride was far every day (<1 hour) the scenery was worth it. We discovered Earthquake Lake along the way and that was a great stop on our way back.
Peaceful, memorable time with the family in Montana!
We had a wonderful time staying at the CB ranch guest house!! It was surprisingly well-stocked with things like coffee filters, coffee, dishwasher pods, etc. The land is absolutely beautiful. We grilled most nights and enjoyed the deck and hearing the creek. Our understanding is the creek varies in how big/deep it is- when we were there (beginning of June) it was deep and so loud! It was so peaceful especially with the mountains in the background. We went to Yellowstone one day but enjoyed our time on the property the most. It’s on 6500 acres and Kate was so helpful with areas to explore. The Indian Creek trail is right off their property and fun to explore (take bear spray!). Kate was an amazing host. She showed our kids the new baby sheep just born which was so fun. We booked horseback riding with her and she led us through their beautiful ranch. My 6 year old had never ridden a horse before and she led him and was so great with him! She communicated quickly and went above and beyond to make our trip even more memorable.
Wow! Absolutely stunning views from right out the front door. The creek running along the property provided such a peaceful setting for morning coffee outside and great to lull you to sleep. At night. We were able to walk right out the back door and hike up the mountain on the days we didn’t have other activities. This home is about an hour from YNP and Big Sky which didn’t bother us a bit as we enjoyed the quiet pace away from heavily trafficked areas staying out in Cameron. The home was spotless and offered plenty of kitchen supplies. . The host, Kate was responsive and easy to work with. We took advantage of the horseback riding offered and the trip was amazing. I really can’t say enough good things about this property and host. Our trip was so amazing I we wish we didn’t have to leave. Thank you
Kate and Eric’s place is perfectly tucked away in the middle of gorgeous Montana! The relaxed ambiance of the property was exactly what we needed to escape the rush of our normal, every day life. The property had everything we needed and to our surprise, the beds were super comfy! (You just never know what you’re going to get!) Kate and Eric were perfect hands-off hosts and were quick to respond to any questions or needs we had. Kate even went so far as to go look for an item that we had thought we left behind!! We would definitely be repeat customers!
As a side note, our flight had been cancelled and we were moved to a later one. We arrived SUPER late and had to find the property in the dark. Google Maps and Waze led us to the wrong home, which was slightly unnerving. (While it was on the same road, it definitely was not the right house!)
This place was perfect! We are country people so it fit us perfectly! The sound of the stream was so relaxing. We spent a lot of our time at Yellowstone, but we also went horseback riding at the property and did a hike around the property. We also visited Wade Lake, beautiful! Kate and Eric were great hosts as well! Answered all my questions and I had a lot at first!
The house is located at the end of a lane right next to lovely, burbling Indian Creek (low at this time of a hot, drought year). The house itself was very clean, spacious, well-appointed and attractive. The large deck with table and chairs was very pleasant. The kitchen was equipped with everything one might reasonably need in order to prepare meals. Everything was in good working order. Quiet, peaceful, restful. Lovely fresh flowers awaited us on the kitchen windowsill.
There are some small things that could improve one's visit. A map and/or some detailed directions for reaching the house would be helpful. The area is remote and our navigation app, at least, would not work. Turning in at the wrong end of the Bear Creek Loop cost us a much longer drive on rough gravel road. A bit of information about things to do in the immediate vicinity (e.g., how far it is to Noman's Falls and the location of the trailhead would be nice to know). The vrbo description states that there is no wifi at the house. We did not discover that there is until we had been there a couple of days.
Beautiful area with a everything you need kind of property
We stayed in this home for five nights in late spring. The home had everything you needed to cook in your own kitchen and stay warm at night. The deck was a place we used most watching the kids run up and down the drive listening to the swift creek.
If you are looking for an authentic and peaceful Montana experience, look no further. This house is in a wonderful location in the Madison Valley. It is close to Ennis, Virginia City, Yellowstone, etc. We stayed here for four nights and when we weren't checking out the places aforementioned, we were fishing in the creek that runs alongside the house, grilling on the deck, or horseback riding through their beautiful land!
The house is clean and very nice! We fell asleep to the sound of the creek each night and the stars are amazing due to no light pollution. Kate and Eric are WONDERFUL hosts and Chris (Kate's dad) was an awesome guide on the trail ride. We will be back and if you are looking for a place to stay in this area you should look no further. You will not be disappointed!
