Fabulous Lakeside vacation home

This was our first visit to Minnesota. The house was beautiful and well kept. Everything was just as stated in the listing. The location is very peaceful, right on the lake. Plenty of recreation and exploration opportunities around. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Great place to stay

Fun house, enjoyed our time at the house. Family members that had mobility issues stayed in the bedroom on the first floor. The bathroom is small, and we couldn't get a walker into the bathroom. The other issue to be aware of is that Internet is spotty at best. I happened to have job interviews while I was at the house and had to go somewhere else to do the online interview. Otherwise a fun place to stay. Thank you!

Beautiful destination

This property was perfect for our family. The grandkids loved the kayaks, paddle board , lily pad, pool table, and yard games. Beautiful and peaceful . Our entire family loved this vacation, everyone thinks we should come back again! Just what we all needed. Would be nice if more seating in the tv room.

What a view!

We had a group of fishermen get together for a week of bass fishing. It was awesome and this house was more than comfortable! Beds were great. Such a nice property. Large garage space for boats. Easy access to park, and not far from boat ramp, bait shop, restaurants, grocery, (and trolling motor repair). Teresa the property manager was terrific. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice!!

Loved the sauna (especially because it was a colder week), loved how well the house is stocked - household items all available like soaps and kitchen stuff, in addition to a generous supply of firewood. House is very clean and well looked after, neighborhood is quiet and family friendly as well. Our host was amazing, very quick to respond to questions! Lake area is quiet so we could swim, but lake is huge so the water is cold, we brought gear to swim in cold water.

Excellent property!

Property was exactly as shown in the listing. It was a perfect location next to City Beach and walkable to a few restaurants and ice cream shop, a really nice community. Home was very clean and had every amenity you could think of. It was the most well stocked VRBO or AirB&B we have stayed in. Theresa was excellent with communication. We would definitely recommend this home.

Perfect Location!

Not only is the house located right on Rainy Lake, but it's a short bike ride to Ranier which has restaurants, a brewery, and ice cream! The house is very spacious, and offers a beautiful view of the lake. The owners have really thought of everything to make guests' stay comfortable. We would definitely come back again.

God's Country

This is a beautiful property with steps to the water and the town of Ranier. Great place for a family gathering, with great sleeping accommodations for multiple families. Kitchen was really well stocked, we appreciated the extra fridge. I gave it 4 stars...only because there is a need for a new TV, the remote was broken and we couldn't log in to the smart TV. Also, with how big the house is more lounge seating in the TV/pool table room is needed. Overall, everyone with us loved it and even made the comment let's make this an annual trip!!

Could have been perfect

This home was spacious and clean, and easily accommodated our family of 8 adults and 3 children. The kitchen was well equipped and the extra dining area was a plus. The water toys were absolutely awesome! The downsides of our stay were mostly due to the aftermath of the flooding. Despite communication prior to our stay that there were "sandbags on the property", we were not at all prepared for the continuous 6 foot wall of sandbags surrounding the home and obstructing the beach access, lake view, and fire pit. We understand that the city is responsible for removing the sandbags, but this home was one of only two houses in the entire area that was still surrounded. There was also an enormous uprooted tree in the front yard, and the electricity on one side of the house was not working, which meant we didn't have any outdoor lights at night. Our family would have greatly appreciated an honest and accurate portrayal of what the situation was like before arriving. I also wonder if there was something further the hosts could have done to mitigate the effects of the sandbags on the overall experience. Despite this, we are considering staying here again next summer and hope that the next guests get much clearer descriptions of the state of the property before arriving.

Beautiful VRBO

Pros: We have been to this VRBO 2 times now and love the location and the size of the home. The kitchen is well equipped, 2 dining areas inside and a beautiful deck. Kids really enjoyed the kayaks and beach sand. The yard is clean and neat. Cons: (suggestions for improvements) Stairway railings are far apart and unsafe for children, put in queen beds instead of doubles, perhaps convert the downstairs den into another sleeping area, and the burners on the grill don't work well so you need to watch that closely. We see that the owner is making improvements each year and that has been very nice!

Family Vacation

This house was perfect for our family vacation, very roomy. The house was fully stocked from coffee to shampoo, it even has an ice cream maker, kayaks, bikes, paddle boards. The location was unbelievable walking distance for cocktails and ice cream and a great beach. The sauna was also really nice. We look forward to being able to stay at this property again.

Great space, beach and location

We had a great stay at this property! The first day we arrived, I was a little thrown off with the staining on the carpet however it was clean, just stained and with it being on the beach and with so much outdoor time, it makes sense. I've never rented a house with the amount of amenities as this one has! I brought way more with us than what we needed as they had everything! The water toys are the icing on the cake for this property! The kayaks and paddle boards were really nice to have and they are all great quality! It's listed in the housing info, however the number of beds in the master bedroom was interesting. If you have young kids and want them in the room with you, it would be perfect. If I owned the house though, I would move one of the beds from the master to the room on the main floor. The house itself is huge and there is not a shortage on things to do between the outdoor toys and ping ping/pool table. You can tell the owner is putting money back into the property with several bathrooms redone. The house is within walking distance to Ranier which was nice for a morning stroll. The owner was quick to reply to me when I needed to reach out. I would 100% recommend this property and we plan on looking to rent again next year!

Beautiful view, great sand beach and amenities

We had a wonderful time at this property! Plenty of living space inside and out. The bedroom sleeping arrangements have updated from the pictures. The master bedroom has a king, queen, and a full bed. The other upper bedrooms each have a full and a twin, they are not bunk beds anymore. Downstairs room has a pullout couch. It is comfortable for a pullout. Plenty of towels and paper products provided. Lots of lake toys (a SUP, 2 Kayaks, a lily pad, noodles and sand toys) the kids spent all day in or on the water. Thanks for the great stay! We are hoping to be back again next year!

Great family spot!

We had a fantastic time at the Ranier cabin! Our family is originally from I’Falls, so we’re familiar with the area, lake, and local activities. The location was great for all the above. The cabin was clean, had so many amenities, and was a perfect fit for our group. We were on the beach and in the water everyday! The bedrooms/bathrooms were great for our different family groups. One thing that we had to watch was the stair railing - the gap between the spindles is pretty wide so we had to supervise our littles going up and down. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will be back!

Great place to get away from the cities

My family and I had a great time. I am very happy my family and I were able to stay here for a short weekend. The weather was perfect and the home and property was gorgeous. Coffee in the morning with the beautiful view or Rainy Lake was just blissful. The water sport toys and the sauna was a nice surprise. Thank you for letting us use it. 4* for cleanliness was because there were a ton of spiderwebs and dead flies in the corners and on the carpet. Didn't bother me much though. I just took out the vacuum cleaner to clean it up. Otherwise this home had everything you needed, from kitchenware, laundry detergent, and excess towels. I appreciate the hospitality. My family would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you so much for allowing my family to create wonderful memories in your home.

Beautiful beach and views.

You can't beat this location. The lake and beach our perfect for kids and adults, calm shallow water. We had a wonderful stay and would consider going back. The property has everything you would ever need for water toys. There are even bikes to use. There is plenty of space and great indoor games. The only down side to this property is the sleeping arrangements. it is not set up for adults, or multiple families, unless the adult couples wants to sleep in full size beds. Pay attention to bed layout in the 4 rooms when considering this property. There is really only one "adult/couple " room. And that is set up with multiple beds. The other rooms have bunk beds and a pull out full size sofa. Otherwise great property. You can tell the owner is continuing to improve the property with many little projects.

Great Family Vacation

Our two family (11) enjoyed the property for 5 days. The sandy beach, dock and water activities kept the kids entertained for hours. We boated, hiked, and fished all close to the property. We walked into the quiet downtown for ice cream, beers and cocktails once a day. The kids all slept in the large master bedroom and the parents slept in the two other upstairs bedrooms. Plenty of room for everyone. The outdoor sauna was the cherry on top for us! We loved sitting in the sauna and then jumping in the lake. So relaxing and refreshing. Highly recommend this up north family retreat.

Rainy Lake Family Vacation

This was a very nice home with a lot of amenities. Very close to the lake with a great view. Sunrise was awesome. We really enjoyed the porch on the lakeside with the use of the Kayak and paddle board. The fire pit was used every night and there was a number to have firewood delivered! Thank you for the use of your home.

Not a great experience

While this house offers square footage, it is more conducive to families rather than multiple couples. The only two places to sit and socialize are the kitchen table with wooden chairs and an extremely uncomfortable couch in the living/game room. When we booked this house, it pictured a master with a king bed and a separate room with a queen plus two additional rooms. Upon arrival the queen bed had been put in the master with the king and the other rooms had either bunk beds or a sofa sleep. Again, not conducive to multiple couples. The site also pictured a garage, implying it was included. This was Not the case. There seemed to be multiple “projects” going on. There was a pile of dock accessories in the middle of the living room floor and a half-completed deck being added off the kitchen. While we understand the deck cannot be completed quickly, there was indication that it had not been addressed in weeks. The exterior had piles of landscaping supplies also. The master apparently had walls/partitions removed leaving large gaps in the carpet, that created a tripping hazard. And do not plan of drying your hair in the master bath. It was great that a dryer was provided but, there was no electrical plug. Just one down by the floor, next to the door and behind a small table. There was also no door on the master bathroom, which we thought was a bit strange. There also was apparently a miscommunication with the cleaning crew. Upon arrival the house was still very dirty, and beds were unmade. After a 12-hour drive, we had to fully clean and make the beds. With that, it may sound picky but, the carpet was stained in multiple places. Gross and nasty!! When we went to use the gas grill, the tank was faulty and had to be replaced before it could be used. At our cost! Positives…views of the lake were incredible, especially at sunrise. The cooler weather allowed us to have windows open at night which made for great sleeping. The bed in the master was wonderful. The guys had great fishing every day. All these issues were conveyed to the owners but fell upon deaf ears. We held off posting a review, to see if they would get back with us. This was not the case, so we chose to post an honest review.

Beautiful and spacious!

We very highly recommend this house. The owner was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with. The house is HUGE!! Our two families had tons of space. The view is breathtaking. The kids had so much fun swimming out to the rocks and playing in the sand during the day, and doing fire pits and listening to the loons at night. Awesome location, too! We enjoyed the 5 minute walk into town a few times for lunch and ice cream. We did some day trips around the National Park, rented a pontoon for a day, and loved walking around and shopping in nearby International Falls. It was a perfect trip!
