Great place to stay! Cabin is adorable and updated! Lake is clear and beautiful. Owner was easily reached (we had no need but still the offer was there). Would totally book again if we are in the WI area! Highly recommend!
Tami was the perfect host and the cabin was everything we could have asked for and more. The dock access was really great and the lake was clean and the best one I have been to in my many trips to Northern Wisconsin. There was even firewood and games available when we weren’t on the water. I can’t recommend this place and host enough. Thanks for the perfect family vacation!!
Very nice place We enjoyed the stay very much. The only glitch was we didn’t bring any salt with us, only about 2 teaspoons in the shaker which didn’t last long with 13 people. We had to make a quick trip to town for an easy fix. We will definitely consider a stay for next year.
7 of us “geezers” had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Eternal Flame. Golfed local courses, smelled burning wood, splashed in the lake, grilled burgers on the fire pit grate, lounged on the deck and in the yard. Had a great time. Amazed how Tami was able to arrange such fantastic weather—2-3 hours of rain in 4 days of otherwise sunny conditions with temps in 70s to maybe 82. The area, mostly wooded, so naturally beautiful. Just didn’t stay long enough. We move our gatherings around but The Eternal Flame is at top of our list for any return to NW Wis. Thanks for providing just what we had in mind when we booked with you. Nicely done!
Excellent property adjacent to a boat launch. Communication with the owners was excellent! The property was quiet and very clean. We would definitely consider staying here again.
Had a great week at this cabin. The main cabin has a great layout and was perfect for our group. The kids enjoyed having their own space in the bunkhouse! Kids swam a lot right off the dock and the location on the lake was great!
The house is lovely, clean, and comfortable. The lake is beautiful and very swimmable. We saw lots of different kinds of water birds and more bald eagles than we could imagine. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware. So much to do in the vicinity. Owners are very communicative. Great place!
Beautiful cabin with great view. Cozy cabin with a great kitchen that even in extreme cold temps outside was warm and homey inside. Would highly recommend for any season getaway.
The property was new, clean and fresh. The views from the deck and the yard were amazing. We were able to watch the sunset and see the trees turn into their fall colors before our eyes. Our time away from our house was much needed during this time of unrest and the Eternal Flame was the perfect getaway.
Cabin has great sunset views. The boat house is excellent for kids and has a nice view of the lake. The dock is very nice and easy for tying up boats. It is a windy lake so plan accordingly for tying up the boat. Boat landing is also nice an convenient. The place is very clean and new. Nice deck, fire pit and yard to enjoy to lake views.
If you like sunsets, this is the place for you. Absolutely beautiful sunsets every night of our stay. (We were very fortunate with great weather). The cabin is flawless in our opinion. The walk out on the basement level is very convenient for bathroom breaks and the kids needing to change clothes.
The location is as good as it gets. This place is only a short couple hundred yard boat ride from a great sandbar, across the bay from Angler's Haven, and secluded enough to escape into isolated peacefulness as well. The dock as adequate space for 1 boat to be tied up and was in fantastic shape. We spent every evening on the dock fishing, swimming and taking in the views.
The owners of this property were in touch with everything we needed but were not pushy or over the top in anyway.
Great place, location and experience.
The cabin and the lake were beautiful!! It was just a perfect setup for two families. The owner was very nice and accommodating. We also ate at both restaurants on the lake and loved them. We look forward to going back.
My family of 5 loved this property! The house was clean and comfortable. The lawn, fire pit, and dock were a great for family activities. The neighborhood was great for walks and it is a very friendly area. We were already familiar with the lake from previous vacations, and it didn’t disappoint either. Our kids could spend hours at the sandbar. We would definitely stay here again!
This was a great property. I stayed with my extended family. The entry to the property is flat and doesn’t require and stairs. The driveway is steep but with skilled backing you can drive down and back a boat out. There wasn’t a lot of parking but we stacked in and at at least one person was always able to get out. We did have 5 vehicles. Once inside, the main bedroom with bath is on main level. My dad has poor knees and it was nice not needing to go up and down stairs to gain entry to the house or main bedroom. There was a decline down to the lake and then steps to the dock. The decline was manageable with poor knees and the railings were in great shape for the final steps. There were kayaks to rent that were nice. They were not included in the rental fee, but I felt the rental fee was priced accordingly so those that wanted the kayaks could add them on themselves. There were plenty of pots and pans and cooking items. I definitely recommend this place.
We loved everything about this home and location! It appears smaller then it really is but comfortably accommodated all 10 of us. It's well appointed, thoughtful layout and VERY clean! It offered everything we needed. We especially loved the yard space and from the lake you can see it's one of the only properties that has that much yard! Use of the kayaks and dock was great too! The lake water is pristine, warm and the boat traffic was never congested. I might suggest water shoes because it's rocky (but not sharp rocks) and it's shallow by the dock so not able to fish much but you don't have to go far! We plan to return!
My family and I (there were 10 of us) immensely enjoyed our long weekend at The Eternal Flame. They layout of the property is great and the sunset views can't be beat. It was so easy to get our pontoon in and out of the water. The boat dock was almost next door. Tami was more than accommodating. I would highly recommend this vacation rental.

About the host
Hosted by Tami Groskreutz
We are a family of four (two teenage girls) who absolutely LOVES our time at the lake. However, with our busy schedules, we aren't able to enjoy it as much as we'd like, so we want to give others the opportunity to enjoy our little slice of heaven!
Tami's family has owned this property since 1979. In 2002, Brad and Tami bought into the property. In 2018, we retained full ownership. Fall 2018, we demolished the 110+ year old log cabin and began construction of our new, year-round cabin. We have put so much thought and care into the design and construction of the new cabin. We hope you are able to enjoy it!
Why they chose this property
Our property is one of the few on Lac Courte Oreilles and the only property on the peninsula with an open yard. No other property on the peninsula offers the open view of the lake and sunsets that we have. The Victory Heights Peninsula is an amazing, family-oriented community that is ideal for bike rides, walks, runs, etc...
