Blue Dolphin "Nicest House on the Island"

Thank you for your interest in our beautiful 5 bedroom/ 5 bath / sleeps 12, beach house, the Blue Dolphin. If your group wishes additional space we do offer our separate "lil Dolphin", 2Bedroom/Full Bath (sleeps 4-6) exclusively for Blue Dolphin guests (if not needed it is never rented independently to respect your privacy, so is available for your group to rent at anytime prior to arrival.) The "lil dolphin is located on the same property having it's own ocean view/full kitchen/roof top deck/veranda etc... Our new VIDEO TOUR, made last May, 2015, is wonderful to give you a feel of our "slice of paradise"!! Since the video we have retiled the entire main floor and pool area along with a fabulous addition to the living area, affording lots of space inside and out for your group to enjoy and "spread out"!! We also updated the roof top deck as well, making the Blue Dolphin again "The nicest house on the island"!! The "new paved road north also was removed from our property and placed along the edge of the lagoon making our property even more private and very very quiet as our property stretches from the ocean to the lagoon!!

Our beautifully landscaped, very private and expansive 2 acre estate includes 150 feet of white sand beach right on the Caribbean Sea with a pier that's wonderful for snorkeling and fishing from and reaches back 700' to a beautiful wildlife filled, mangrove lagoon with another pier for fishing. We also have available to our guests 3 kayaks to carry you swiftly (5 to 10min. depending on the breeze) to the reef for your own private snorkeling adventures and a Belizean canoe and a small row boat for touring/fishing the lagoon.

___October, 2014: we built a resort size pier, complete with large palapa covered area at the end, stairs, fish table with running water to rinse off gear, making it an "unbelievable" place to fish, swim, morning yoga or coffee or just enjoy the ocean breeze viewing the reef or passing dolphins or bone fish!!
___November, 2014: San Pedro Town completes the 1st phase of the road north which ends 1000ft from our private drive making town a 10minute smooth golf cart ride away!!
___April, 2015: We completed our addition of two new bathrooms ensuite, making the Blue Dolphin 5 bedrooms/5baths with 3 being ensuite!!!!
If needed we also offer, at an additional cost of $369/nite, the adjacent newly constructed, two bedroom/sleeps 6, 'Lil' Dolphin with its own full kitchen, living room, dining area for six and full luxurious bath and all the amenities of the Blue Dolphin house including; WIFI, Phone, Cable TV, Smart TVDVD and I-Pod stereo and Air Conditioning. All seven spacious bedrooms have wonderfully comfortable Tempurpedic beds. The 'Lil' Dolphin is offered EXCLUSIVELY to those guests staying at our five bedroom Blue Dolphin and would like more space...it is never rented without the main house for your privacy!!

Upon arrival you will take a short, 15 minute taxi ride to our beach house, the Blue Dolphin, they all know it. If you wish, they will stop and let you do a little shopping before heading up to your private vacation home, the Blue Dolphin! We can have your golf carts ready and waiting for you at the property. Our fabulous caretakers, Corrina and Eswin, will be ready and waiting to pamper you and take care of your every need. In addition to them doing your daily maid service, grounds care they are available to assist with anything to improve your stay. Corrina and Eswin are a huge reason the Blue Dolphin has been so successful and they are a true delight and we feel very thankful to have them as you will as well! We can set you up with first class, amazing tours/diving/snorkeling, fishing, golf cart rentals and anything else you may desire for the best rates as your fabulous Belize experience is our focus and priority! The Blue Dolphin is within walking distance from some of the island's top restaurants or you can have a New York style pizza delivered pool side. Our guests also receive a 20% discounted round trip air fare from Belize International to the island of Ambergris Caye.

First trip to Belize and ambergris Caye and didn’t know if we should stay in San Pedro or South or North or ??? Blue Dolphin was like hitting the lottery. An amazing owner/host, onsite caretakers who will do anything you need, and a property that was perfect for privacy, amenities and Location!!

Great stay at Blue Dolphin

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Dolphin and Lil Dolphin. Dr. Mark was great at assisting us with transportation to and from the airport, setting up our golf cart rentals and excursions. They have been on the island for a very long time and have an excellent network of contacts for about anything you would need. The location was beautiful, very well maintained. Perfect size for our group of 13. Gloria and Armando were excellent on site hosts. They came and cleaned every day, made the beds, cleaned the pool and made sure that everything was perfect for our entire stay. We even asked them make a traditional Belizean meal for our entire group, and you would think you were at a restaurant, great food and presentation. Perfect trip for everyone!

Vintage 60th Celebration

The Blue Dolphin was everything we needed and exceeded our expectations. Our group came to the beautiful island to celebrate 60th birthdays and could not have been happier with the accommodations, the property and the care takers. Being our first time to San Pedro we couldn’t have asked for more. Dr. Mark was so helpful with suggestions and assistance with arrangements for taxi service and golf cart rental. We would highly recommend Blue Dolphin to all and would stay again if we return to San Pedro.

Very enjoyable time

We enjoyed our trip. Gracious, responsive host. Friendly staff. House needs a little updating. AC works well in rooms. No AC in common areas. Not surprised by that. But got a little warm and with some recent rains, we had a lot of mosquitos on patio area by the pool, so spent a little more time in the living room than we thought. Enjoyed the top roof deck at night and sitting out on the pier.

Great Family Getaway

We had a great family vacation at the Blue Dolphin with several adults and children aged 7-14. The pool was an amazing sanctuary from the heat and the house has great access to the water and is well positioned between downtown and Secret Beach. Thanks to the homeowner and caretakers for all of their assistance in making our first stay in Belize a memorable one.

This place will not disappoint. Although Belize may have lost a little of its luster over the years, this is an oasis in and of itself. The owner is an exceptional advisor, who will make sure you are equipped to have a five star vacation. He has staff assigned to the house to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. Great Stay for Large Group

The property is north of town about 30 minutes in a golf cart. The home is clean and very comfortable with a large pool that is cleaned daily. We also rented the lil dolphin for a party of 6 that is an upstairs apartment behind the main house. The diamond of this property are the two caretakers who stay on the property. Gloria takes care of the daily bedding and kitchen cleaning while Armondo takes care of the grounds. Anything you need they are there. We had Virginia bring in daily breakfast at 7:30 because we were a party of 16 going all over at the beginning of the day. We highly recommend doing this because the cost was much cheaper than going out and everything takes an hour on the island. The bedrooms are airconditioned but the rest of the living quarters are fan only. Beds are comfy and showers were roomy and humid at times. There are kayaks to take out and kayak from the property. Rental snorkal and fins can be gotten in town for 30 dollars a week. We took the Cay Caulker Cat tour and it was ok. I would just take a boat over instead because the snorkeling was very corwded and short. The house boat was amazing and incredible for large parties and a very relaxing day. San Pedro has small mosqitos that bite in the mornings and evenings at dusk. Bring 100% deet from the states as it is very expensive in Belize. Dr Mark (Owner) was always available over whats app if we needed options and help with excursions. We would absolutely stay here again.

Blue Dolphin Paradise

My family of 8 adults spent a wonderful relaxing week of Feb. 17-24, 2024. The blue dolphin is all Dr. Mark said it was and then some. The pool was a great gathering point with views of the ocean and the waves breaking over the reef off shore. We loved the long morning walks on the beach. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The staff is very efficient and most helpful when we needed information or other assistance. Ambergris Caye is a jewel for getting away from the over crowded vacation spots of other islands.

Best ocean breeze & location !

We had an amazing stay at The Blue Dolphin! Great location…. Not too far from San Pedro & not too far from Secret Beach. Such a nice ocean breeze and so peaceful sitting outside in the mornings! The pool was great and so was the pier (best coffee drinking spot). Steve & Esme were so nice and helpful. Dr. Mark (host) had great excursion recommendations and we had such a great time. Highly recommend!!

Easter Weekend

We stayed at the Blue Dolphin over the 4 day Easter Weekend. The island was very crowded but we were able to get away from it all at the Blue Dolphin. Steve and Esme were very responsive to our needs. Our group of empty nesters were able to relax and enjoy the warm weather. With many restaurants within 5 minutes driving (and some walking), we didn't have to spend all our time in the kitchen.

Lovely slice of paradise!

We came with 7 of our family from ages 18 to 73 as my daughter chose this for her graduation trip. Lovely slice of paradise! Loved watching the sunrise from the rooftop deck every morning and enjoying the sea breeze out on the private dock every evening. Beautiful property, friendly people! Dr. Mark helped us arrange everything in advance and everything went perfectly! He had trusted contacts to hook us up on some spectacular tours! Steve and Esme were the caretakers of the property and they cooked us an amazing Belizean meal! Very helpful with directions and any questions we had. If we are ever lucky enough to return we will definitely stay at The Blue Dolphin!

From the moment we booked Blue Dolphin to the time we left Belize, it was a very pleasant experience and trip! Dr. Mark was more than helpful with information about the property, thíngs to do while there, taxi service, transport to island, golf cart rentals, etc! The property caretakers are so nice and helpful, we enjoyed meeting Steve, Esme and Lassie (the dog) - they all helped take care of any house/property needs while we were there, excellent job! It was lobster season so we went fishing/snorkeling and had picnic with Erick and Jimmy (guides) that took us out. So fun overall, our group of 9 had plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms and the pool was amazing too! We fished off the pier at night, and the rooftop view from Blue Dolphin is gorgeous too! We thoroughly enjoyed San Pedro and Blue Dolphin we will be back!

4th Trip to San Pedro

This was our 4th trip to San Pedro this time for the celebration of our daughter and new son-in-laws! There was a total of 23 of us that stayed at a total of 3 properties. This was a return trip to the Blue Dolphin for some of us! The property continues to be well maintained and the care givers Steven and Mira (who was covering for Stevens wife because they just had a new baby) were always available when needed and always willing to help us out with questions, arrangements anything else that we needed. There were always plenty of towels, cleaning was routine and timely, Steven even cooked the fish we caught one night! This time we checked out alot of the local spots like the Tipsy Lobster, the swim up bar at Belizean Shores, Sol Cafe', Crocs Sunset Sports Bar, in town we ate at El Fogon for traditional Belizean food and enjoyed watching volleyball at the Toast Seaside Boozery and Grill. We went into town to see the Christmas lights and they were awesome! I would highly recommend this property and its location.

Amazing home & property

The pictures in the listing do not do this home justice. It’s a really beautiful property. The views are fantastic. We were so happy with the location as well. We loved hanging out by the pool, reading on the veranda, lounging in the hammocks, kayaking out to the reef & watching the sunrise/sunset from the rooftop. The bedrooms all have plenty of space and we loved having so many bathrooms. The best part were the house managers, Esme & Steven. They helped with anything we needed & were so attentive. We were even lucky enough to meet Dr’s Mark & Joan, the owners. Great hosts! We took their recommendations for a catamaran snorkel trip, fishing trip, they arranged our golf carts & taxi to & from the airport. I just can’t say enough about how perfect our stay was! We will be back!

We are originally from Minnesota and have made Belize our second home since 1999! We fell in love with the Blue Dolphin as it afforded our large family plenty of space, private pool with stools for a swim up lunch, shallow end for grandchildren and deep end for a refreshing dip!! The 3,000 sq/ft pool area sits on top of a seawall provides a spectacular view and large areas for playing/gathering!! The large private yard provided our family enough space for volleyball and sports, relax in the hammocks and enjoy a bbq/picnic under the palapa! The location of the Blue Dolphin is stellar as the reef swings in, making it easily accessible for snorkeling/fishing or just making your own adventure with our kayaks. The Blue Dolphin is located less than 3 miles from San Pedro town, an easy 10minute golf cart ride on a fabulous new road, providing our guests with a private paradise and all the conveniences the island has to offer! We are also surrounded by many restaurants, within walking distance, offering many local fares and experiences...too many to enjoy if staying a short week! We are still, after 24 years, finding new adventures to explore!! Besides enjoying the continuous new adventures of San Pedro, Mark and Joan have enjoyed their passion of dentistry and coordinate volunteers and help create and maintain volunteer clinics on the island as Belize is still referred to as a 3rd world country and with the large population of children, preventive dentistry has been the prime focus. Another passion is showing the volunteers all the wonders of Belize as well to make it a win win for all involved!! Our philosophy is "Life is a great adventure or nothing at all," giving one child a smile becomes contagious and never stops giving!!
We truly enjoy sharing our beach home and more importantly truly care about your stay. Our goal is having your family/group of friends leave with magical memories to last a lifetime!

The pool area flows from the main living area is over 2500sqft and is perfectly set back from the ocean edge for fabulous views and upmost privacy. Lots of space for fisherman on our new resort size pier/second veranda deck for shade, reading...lots of space to share with friends and family and still have some alone time! 2 private acres with wonderful fruits, flowers....daily coconut water provided by a simple request to caretakers!!
The carved mahogany doors and artwork are truly amazing and full of mayan culture!
