About this property

This spacious 4,000+ square foot lakefront custom cabin is perfect for your family vacation. Located in a gated community, it comes completely furnished and is stocked with all the amenities you will need.

Relax on the large back deck overlooking the lake, play croquet on the manicured lawn, fish off the private dock or play tennis on the court at the end of the block. Four kayaks, a paddle boat, and a fishing canoe are available for your use. This spacious cabin is only minutes from many activities including hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, antiquing, gambling, dining and much more. Sunrise Ski Resort is approximately 45 minutes away. There are plenty of family games and kid toys to keep your family busy, including a pool/game table in the bunk room and sleds or bikes for your use in the garage.

The cabin will accommodate 14 people but we are limited to 12 by our HOA rules: one king in the master (2 people), one queen in bedroom #2 (2 people), one queen in bedroom #3 (2 people), one queen in bedroom #4 (2 people), and 3 twin/twin bunks (6 people/kids) in the bunk room/playroom. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and cable tv. The bunk room has a 1/2 bath.

The family room has cable TV, a DVD player, a VCR and surround sound. There is a DVD library. There is also a wireless router and a Roku so you can sign into your own accounts.

Air conditioning is available during summer if needed, though it's not likely that you will. Summer highs are 75 to 88 degrees with night-time lows in 40s and 50s. Whole house fans cool the cabin down in a matter of minutes as the temperatures drop at the end of the day.

In addition to centralized heating, two wood-burning fireplaces in the main living areas and a gas fireplace in the master bedroom provide warmth and enjoyment during the cold winter months. Imagine relaxing in front of a roaring fire after a day on the slopes.

This is our private family cabin. We rent our home with the expectation that it will be cared for as if you were a guest. No events or parties are allowed and the HOA has strict rules regarding noise.

Perfect home for a family vacation

This home is a choice location on Rainbow Lake with a fabulous view and peaceful setting. It is so spacious and is such an ideal set up for a family vacation - and the best we've found in the Pine-top-Lakeside area. It allowed everyone their own room and bathroom, with a large dining table for meals and games. Our grandkids loved having their own large playroom space. The boating options were great, as well as all the outdoor spaces to enjoy. We're so grateful we found out about the Bald Eagle Retreat, and we would be blessed to visit it again in the future.

Beautiful cabin!

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin! The property manager was very helpful and nice. The cabin was perfect sitting right on the shore of Rainbow Lake. The kayaks were extremely convenient, and the kids loved using them. Super clean cabin. Really enjoyed the early mornings sitting on the back deck, facing the lake sipping on some coffee. We will definitely be back to Bald Eagle retreat cabin!

Beautiful home and location

A great place for a family vacation and escape! The kids and adults had a wonderful time fishing, paddleboating, playing tennis, pickleball, going on the lake with the kayak and canoe and using the pool and ping pong tables inside. The views are amazing and the house was perfect to fit our extended family. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely book this beautiful home again! Great amenities!

White Mountains lakeside home

This is a beautiful 5 bedroom log cabin on a canal at Rainbow Lake in Pinetop Arizona. It has a dock for fishing and kayaking. It’s in a lovely gated community that has a tennis/pickle ball court, ramada, boat ramp and large dock. One bedroom has 3 double bunk beds with trundles, a pool/pingpong table. Our family and friends loved staying there.

Relaxing Getaway

We had 4 families come together for a much overdue family vacation. There was plenty of space for everyone. It was close to town so we could quickly run to the store but still felt so peaceful. Stunning Views & Activities

My family and I had a great time. The views are spectacular and the lake/doc access straight from the house was the perfect set up for my boys who love fishing while some of us retreated to the oversized patio. The kitchen was awesome to use as well and perfect for a big group or family. There are a few TLC things needed to make this place absolutely perfect. Mainly around the wear and tear on the leather couch. My family placed blankets over the torn/worn fabric so as not to further damage the sofa. We wished there was a better/more convenient way to store our dry food. The pantry was locked and there wasn't a lot of empty space to place our dry food. Of course, this is not a deal breaker at all, just a good to know. Otherwise we had an absolute blast. Thank you for opening your family home to our family.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We just returned from a three night stay and loved it! Amy, the property host, was wonderful and was available for questions when we needed her. The cabin is huge. Perfect for a couple families. We had 6 children under 10 in our group and they enjoyed all of the amenities as well. Beautiful home, perfect location. We will be back!

The most relaxing and beautiful place to gather with family

The cabin and grounds are immaculately clean and well kept. The gathering spaces were more than adequate for our family of 8 adults and 3 children. We had space to be together but there was also a lot of space for a little time on your own but still nearby. Each room is a master bedroom with plenty of space to relax and beautiful spacious and private full bathrooms in each room. The master bedroom downstairs with its king bed is massive. The adjoining bathroom is lovely with its shower and jetted tub. The walk in closet has plenty of hanging space and drawers for a nice long stay. The three bedrooms on the second floor also are beautiful, each containing a great amount of storage, a queen size bed, and as previously stated a bathroom with a shower (one has a bathtub/shower combo). The second floor also contains the loft room. This is a great place for children. Our three granddaughters enjoyed this room each claiming her own bunk bed. The loft is a massive bedroom/playroom. Many hours were spent playing pretend and watching the occasional movie on the tv. The loft room also has a half bath. We loved the well equipped kitchen. It was truly a joy to cook in and the breakfast bar was large enough to serve from. We also served from the island. The backyard and the lake were beautiful. The lake on our visit was extremely low (prayers for sending some rain to the high country). The adults and children still enjoyed a little fishing and all enjoyed the unbelievable sunsets. The squirrels and geese provided regular entertainment. Everyone in our group loved the cabin and its surroundings. Although we were in a neighborhood, most of the time we felt like we had the area around the cabin and the lake to ourselves. Truly a beautiful place to spend time with family and relax.

Lake weekend

Paradise in the mountains

This is our second visit to this home. Perfection in every way! The owner is a dream to work with; very accommodating. From the first time you climb the stairs to the front porch and open the front door you are taken back by the beautiful view of the backyard and lake. This is a family home that’s perfect for another family. Gourmet kitchen fully stocked. Large living room and dining room; kids room with six bunks and four other bedrooms with private bathrooms. Kayaks, bicycles, lawn games. Perfect vacation spot on beautiful private lake. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Our cabin is host to four families.

Why they chose this property

We have vacationed in Pinetop since the 70's, when we owned a small A-frame in the pines. As the family grew, we needed a larger cabin in which to gather. We love the laid-back and friendly attitude of the White Mountains.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin allows us a place we can all gather and relax, yet not be on top of each other. Our favorite activities are fishing and kayaking on the lake during the summer. The kids love to play tennis and the court is just a few doors down. In evenings, we play Scrabble, and Rummikube in the loft or watch family movies with popcorn and surround sound. Sledding and skiing are favorite winter activities but we also love building snow forts in the front yard. The dads like to cook - fortunately the kitchen is well-stocked and large enough to accommodate all of them. Although the cabin is convenient to all that Pinetop-Lakeside has to offer, it really is just a great place to hang out with family and friends!
