Fantastic fishing and family fun; waterfront property located on Caney Creek.

Situated on Caney Creek in Live Oak Bend, our house is perfect for a family vacation, fishing trip, or a weekend getaway. The Sargent/Caney Creek area offers friendly folks, fishing in Matagorda Bays, surf fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, fishing in Caney Creek (guides available), duck hunting, bird-watching, beach-combing, skiing, wake boarding, boat riding, or just relaxing. Fun fishing right off the private pier -- day or night under 2 (1000 watt one green one white) fishing lights – is available. The private dock will accommodate 3 bay boats or several jet skis. The free, neighborhood boat launch is just 1/8 mile down the road where you can launch your own boat.

The house was a perfect size for our family. The manager was very helpful and thoughtful. She was making sure we kept an eye the hurricane that was headed our way. We always love our stays in Sargent and the people there are awesome.

This property was a great location. Neighborhood boat ramp close by, boat and fishing dock, short boat ride to the Intercoastal Canal and East Matagorda Bay. Pete was very responsive to every question. We would definitely stay here again.

This is our second trip to Sargent. Second time to stay in this house. The house was great and the beach was amazing. Caught a 3.5 ft gar from the dock and a 37 in Red Drum off the beach!! Wonderful trip.

Great location to fish and relax

Booked Mr Biggs home to get away from our Iowa winter for a month and could not ask for much more than what this rental. provided. It was clean and furnished with most of what we needed for our stay. The owner was quick to reply to questions. He checked in with us a couple of days after our arrival to see if all was ok. Our first day the tv had a loud hum to it and Laura was quick to get a replacement for us. Would go out for an evening walk in the quiet neighborhood. Really liked this place and it was hard to leave. Had to use both the AC and the heater and both worked great. Thanks you for the use of your rental!

Property needs some attention

Downstairs areas is very cluttered (embarrassing when family came over) door stops need replaced therefor there are holes in the walls from door knobs, only one old wash clothe in master bath and mix of other old in other bath, pillows on master bed very stained and worn flat, frying pans need replaced egg stuck all over entire pan even with large coating of spray oil, kitchen trash can sitting out in kitchen and there is no lid this is gross to walk by in the kitchen, cannot open any of the blinds nor pull them up in dining or living room areas to enjoy the view of the cree we had open then one piece at a time. Definitely needs some TLC to bring up to par for a VRBO rental. Very disappointed.

Grandsons bachelor trip

We had a great time despite the weather trying to ruin the weekend. The house is comfortable and well equipped for a group of 6 to 8 men. We had two 23 foot boats, plenty of room to dock or tie off. Ample parking. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The hall closet is full of games, poker chips, etc. The boat ramp is very close to the house. A few tips: The ride down the creek is long, but very few no wake zones. Bring a couple of 5 gallon cans if you make a few trips down the creek (14 mile round trip). Very easy to trailer to the Intercoastal canal to launch. Once you turn (r) between the dollar stores, make sure you cross the bridge. GPS will stop you before the bridge, so, like your talkative wife, ignore it. Turn left, go until you see the family name on the house. I was shocked by the size of the Blue crabs we caught. Bring chicken backs. Bring something for outside cooking (frying fish/boiling crabs) coleman stove, etc. There is a charcoal grill.

The BEST HOME to Stay

Everything was perfect. This was our Anniversary trip. All the kitchen stuff was available for our use, as were the tables outside. The beach towels, bath towels Everything was exactly were I expected it to be. We fished the whole time. Day and night. We didn't catch any keepers, but it was a blast!!!
