We welcome you to come experience the ultimate mountain escape at our cabin retreat. Aptly named "Ode to Joy” you , your friends and family will all enjoy the privacy, location and amenities our space has to offer. Featuring two large bedrooms , a small compact Kitchen , two full baths , a hall reading area, screened in porch , new soda June 2021 , wood burning fireplace ( Oct 15- March 15 ), two decks, brick patio , PRIVATE hot tub OPEN YEAR ROUND and a one of a kind light fixture from a famed artist imported from Denmark this adorable A Frame will check all of your boxes for the ultimate higher end relaxing getaway. Tucked in at the end of a private road in Coolfont Mountainside ww are a 3 mile car ride to downtown Berkeley Springs which has dining , shopping and world famous hot springs , 10 minutes to Cacapon State Park, 8 miles from Hancock and the C and O canal for walking running and biking . Coolfont mountain itself offers its own resort dining ( check web page for menus and hours )hiking , tennis, seasonal lake with fishing, kayaking and paddle board rentals , community hot tub and pool from Memorial Day to Labor Day and it's a short stroll to a our local Craft Brewery Berkeley Springs Brewing Company for a pint or a bite to eat and The wonderful Treetop restaurant overlooking the lake . Only a few miles from Cacapon state park with epic hiking , mountain biking , golf and lake .WE ASK THAT YOU MESSAGE FIRST BEFORE INSTANT BOOKING WITH PETS- $50 - pet fee.Dogs only please one max . Also please note no outdoor fires are allowed do to the dense tree coverage . In winter months it does snow in the WV mountains . Be prepared with a 4wd vehicle as we do not cancel or move reservations due to small storms .

Quiet, cozy mountain getaway

The house setup is perfect for 2 friends (my trip) or we even talked about bringing our families along next time! The kitchen has all you need for a vacation stay, two full bathrooms allow for privacy and space, the hot tub is divine, and the drive to/from town is easy. We loved how secluded, yet safe, it was for our girls getaway.

Last Minute Getaway

We booked this a day or two before coming down from Pittsburgh with our dog. The place is very clean, organized and cozy. We enjoyed both the fireplace and hot tub as well as great hikes in the snow at nearby Cacapon State park. We will have this on our list as a place to re-visit.

Girls trip.

Wonderful stay at this A-frame! It has a whole vibe and is designed well. So many cool little touches. Hot tub was amazing for the cool evenings. The wifi was pretty rough so expect to have spotty service being in the woods. We had a wonderful time on our girls trip and would book again!

Cabin was very cozy. Very quiet location. Had eveything needed for a quiet weekend or week long getaway. Will book this property again for sure. The only complaint is we had to leave. Lol

Nice quiet cabin

Wonderful cabin! We enjoyed the solitude and the mountain location that was not far from Berkeley Springs. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Would stay again!

Getaway

Very nice cabin . Nicely located by Cacapon State Park which has excellent hiking and a variety of things to do. Quick drive to Berkeley Springs for dinner. Cabin is well organized . Did not really use kitchen, but it is nice. Hot tub comes in handy after hiking. Would rent again.

Rustic modern comfort

The cabin was nicely appointed and decorated. We loved the privacy and location in the resort. The layout was great, beds were comfortable, kitchen was nicely stocked with little extras that you don’t typically see, and the wine fridge was a nice surprise! We will be back again, perhaps during another season although it was beautiful watching the snow fall while in the hot tub!

Quiet cabin in the woods

Ode to Joy is a lovely getaway that includes all the essentials you need to unwind; outdoor seating to enjoy your surroundings and watch the wildlife, comfy couches to curl up on to read a book, and a kitchen that has the essentials but won't let you go crazy cooking so you can enjoy this relaxing cabin.

Perfect place to relax and wind down

My husband and I love this area and the adorable A-frame is the perfect place to be able to get away from the city, curl up with a good book, enjoy the hot tub, be surrounded by woods, and step out the door and go for long walks and hikes. It is such a great location but still a quick drive into town for groceries and massages. It is so wonderful to be able to do these activities with our dog. Megan is wonderful and accommodating. I can't think of one complaint other than that our stay went by way too quickly.

Quiet, relaxing stay in a limited but fun cabin

Very, very quiet location close to a trailhead. Place is small though it manages its space well enough. Hot tub is great after a hike. Kitchen equipment is hit or miss. Add bags of ice to your grocery list. Grill ignition out so bring some long lighter matches.

Great little cabin at the end of a lane., VERY private & gorgeous wood views

interior of the house very clean , great supplies . Exterior could use a little power washing, such as the seating and deck , but honestly had a very lovely time. Great Hiking Do not expect tv as it is run off internet . So Phone & TV are almost always not in service.

Perfect for a couple!

Loved the overall of the house nice job with the remodel. We sat in the little screened in area a lot just watching nature, relaxing, quiet and beautiful. Used hot tub twice very nice. All was very clean and appreciated the the small soaps towels in all the rooms etc. Could use a new bed downstairs (very hard). So we slept in the small bed upstairs was much more comfortable. Lastly showers really need upgrade but the rest of the house had new faucets etc.

AWESOME RENTAL!

Super close to town! Quiet, wooded, reclusive spot, with a sweet little porch, a Hot Tub, and nicely stocked. The internet is spotty, so one night there was no TV or internet (Not what you go to the woods to do, BUT if you have small kids to entertain, they have board games). Also, I couldn't figure out the fire place too keep a fire going, but that is a ME issue. The fireplace was perfectly stocked with paper, matches and kindling. LOVED this little rental and I will DEFINITELY be back!

Perfect getaway

I’ll tell you what they UNDER SOLD in their description. 1. The house is great for a dog. The deck furniture is modular. You can move the sofa and block off the deck exit so the dog can stay on the deck without being able to escape. 2. The water and water pressure. I’ve stayed in a nearby cabin where the water smells and tastes like sulfur and must be filtered. Not here. 3. All the little things including binoculars, flashlights, lanterns etc 4. Proximity to Coolfont Resort. Try the restaurant This is a nice rental for a family of 3-5 or two average size couples. More and it might get close.

Dead bugs everywhere

Location is fantastic. Plenty of wildlife abound. Assuming the house was cleaned then sprayed for bugs. There were dead ants everywhere (I have pics and videos) There were also live ants on the walls and in the light fixtures. Internet was out almost the entire time I was there. That’s a bummer when all they have is streaming services. Luckily I had good cellphone reception for a hotspot.

Long Weekend

My parents have had a property in Coolfont since 2001. We always thought this A Frame was the cutest place so we contacted the owner who agreed to sell it to us . After many many renovations we think our spot is just the perfect mountain retreat !
