Excellent cobdo, very clean, perfect location to restaurants and walking distance to Pier and Tiki bar. Love that you can hang out on the beach and just walk up to Tiki bar for lunch without having to drive or leave the beach area.
We enjoyed our vaca very much...although getting to the beach was somewhat a chore..the walkway was down at the end of the walkway.
We could leave our chairs and stuff on the beach all day and kept an eye on them from our balcony..condo was clean and equipped with most of what we needed
Disappointed that have to walk far to the beach. Only one access. Had knee replacement and was a bit too much. The twin beds were not come at all. Rolled toward the middle. Overall a good stay.
Great location, awesome amenities, and very clean!
Everything was pretty on point with this condo - location was perfect, very clean interior, lots of great amenities (the pool and downstairs storage area were clutch). The only slight critique I would give is that the master bed is definitely not a king, as it’s advertised. Truthfully, I don’t even think it’s a queen, it felt more like a full. Other than that, we really enjoyed the space! Perfect for families with small kids.
This was our first time to Carolina beach and we were not disappointed. The rental was excellent. Very clean and plenty of room for a family of 5. Check in and out was a breeze and we had zero issues with the property. We loved how everything was so close to our room. We were able to get to our car, pool, and beach within a matter of minutes. We can’t wait to plan our next trip here! 100% recommend this property.

Great view mediocre accommodations
The management company was friendly and professional. They were easy to deal with. The view from the condo is wonderful. I enjoyed both sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. The beach was not crowded out front. The actual condo needs a deep cleaning and a place to put groceries. I understand it’s a rental and you don’t want to have to replace expensive furniture but a bit more comfort and lots more cleanliness goes along way.
Location of property was perfect, views were beautiful! Condo had almost everything we needed. There was not a single square of toilet paper upon arrival, so keep that in mind. The master bed is in need of TLC- loud squeaks with every little move. Biggest complaint is that golf carts weren’t allowed on the property. I was told it’s in the listing, but I do not see it. Definitely choose another property if you plan to rent a golf cart. Will be back to CB, but will choose another property.
We had the best experience. Condo was great!! Only thing we noticed was sliding doors were worn and a little off track. It was just my husband and I so we didn’t need all the space but good deal and oceanfront. We would definitely stay here again and rent from Carolina retreat again. Loved it, thanks so much!!
The upkeep of the property was exceptional. During my 4 night stay I saw the grounds keepers picking up trash multiple times and the condo was very clean and welcoming. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is because the condo only had one couch to sit on... the rest of the chairs were hard and uncomfortable.

A shore thing Carolina beach. Sea colony resort area
The view and access to the beach were good. The beds all were terrible. I bought a mattress topper so my wife and I could use the queen bed and the twin beds were more like toddler beds each with a hard mattress. The ice maker didn’t work and the pots and pans were all very old and hard to use. Bathrooms were very cramped and no amenities provided. We spotted roaches a few times in the condo. The slide door to balcony was hard to open. Owners need to upgrade and check on their unit.

Big rental agency using VRBO = not awesome
I was under the impression that the condo community I was staying in was more like a little condo resort with amenities. The property was advertised to me (online and over the phone with a liver person at the rent agency) to have a pool that was open. When I arrived, it was made clear to me that the pool was never opened this year, per the HOA, and the other amenities (such as a closet to store sandy items, among other things) were also not available. The place felt superficially clean, but the comforters on top of the bed were dirty (like, gritty, and noticeable blots of dried blood, chocolate...or...some other brownish gross dried-up human sludge. The beds are hard, creaky and uncomfortable and there are no air conditioning vents in the bedrooms, only fans to blow air around. The kitchen, living room and porch are what made this Labor Day weekend family trip acceptable. For the price, this isn't the place, and I won't return.

Mixed feellings
First the positive comments. Beautiful view of the ocean from the balcony, easy access to the beach/strand area, quiet and neat condo complex.
The condo itself was disappointing in regards to the outdated condition, lack of personal amenities and not very clean.
There were stains on the pillow sham and the side table in the small bedroom. The dresser in that same room was placed so that only one folding door to the closet was usable and within that space there was the vacuum, leaving almost no storage.. There was no overhead lighting in either bedroom and the lamp in the small bedroom had a blown light bulb. Had to scrounge around and take another one from another lamp. The mattresses were pancake thin. No ceiling fans. The towel rack in the small bathroom was broken.
As far as personal amenities...there are none. No shampoo, no conditioner, no soap, no dish washer tab, no extra trash bag, no coffee filters, no dishwasher soap, nothing. (My husband and I have a house on Oak Island, NC that we do short term vacation rentals all the time. And all of these amenities are provided for our guests). The ice maker is broken. Quite disappointed with the condo. Not a relaxing or welcoming indoor space.
Carolina Beach is lovely and I recommend the area, just can’t recommend "A Shore Thing".
Our family loved the gorgeous ocean view and the 2 minute walk to Ocean Grille and Tiki Bar for delicious fresh seafood and adult beverages. Great Vacay all around!
