One week minimum rental from mid-June to Mid-September. Three night minimum in the "shoulder seasons" at $800 per night. Two & one-half bathrooms +outdoor shower, Wi-Fi, Central AC, family sized Weber gas grill, full turn-key rental includes all bed and bath linens (or rent/bring your own), beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach buggy, and a kitchen outfitted to pamper any chef. And if needed, we have a Pottery Barn full size crib and high chair. Perfect vacation spot for your friends and family of 8 and fewer.

Family Cape Getaway

Our end of summer multigenerational family Cape Getaway was the best ever this year...made perfect by the McDonough house. A leisurely stroll to the beach or into town through a very friendly neighborhood, a lovely walkable beach, comfortable beds, plush towels and everything one would need in the kitchen to prepare meals. Marilyn has anticipated her guests' every need and is ever available to answer questions or just help out. Quaint shops, good restaurants but not the craziness you feel in other places on the Cape. And, despite a bit of a hurricane scare, the weather was terrific! Along with our children and grandchildren we had a wonderful time and look forward to the next stay on Essex Place.

The house was very, very well equipped: and clean! The location was excellent and allowed us to walk to town and beach easily! Quiet neighborhood despite close proximity of houses. Super friendly neighborhood of renters and owners.

Great family rental!

My family and I have been renting this home from Marilyn for 7 summers now. There is plenty of comfortable living and sleeping room for our multi generational family of 7. We often cook dinner in the home, and have never been wanting for a utensil, pan, dish, cutting board, and so on. The house is a short walk to Dunkin Donuts and CVS which is handy for coffee and the paper. It's also a short walk in to town where all of the cute shops and restaurants are. Most importantly, it's a short flat walk to the beach! Great for families with young kids, grandparents, or any situation where you need to the flexibility to go back and forth from the beach to use the bathroom, grab a drink, take a nap, etc. The house is always clean with everything in good working order when we arrive. You can tell that Marilyn takes very good care of her home.

Kind and understanding

My family and I were greatly looking forward to our trip and staying at this property. Near the departure date our daughter became very ill. She and her mother would have to stay behind while my sons and I went on the trip. I thought we can't get our money back so we need to go since that's the world we live in. My wife called the owner and explained our situation. Immediately, she recognized our dilemma and while we had made a commitment we needed to honor she ensured she would do all she could in a short period of time to help us. She immediately posted our week and within a short time secured a new renter. The owner was never anything but kind, gracious and understanding. We look forward to our next trip to Cape Cod and staying at this property.

Wonderful Vacation Home

A DEFINITE recommend. This beautiful home is located in a ideal location - walking distance from various eateries and shops as well as walking distance from the beach. Great location, comfortable home

As promised, this was a very comfortable, well-equipped home. The kitchen is really pleasant to use and is roomy and has many staples. We loved the location, an easy walk to both the beach and to shops and restaurants in town. We were there during a quiet week (pre-July 4), so the close proximity of neighbors was not an issue.

Impeccable home, perfect location, wonderful owner

This is not a rental house - this is a HOME. Marilyn and Dan have created a rare opportunity for Cape Cod renters by providing a warm, inviting, immaculate, and tastefully decorated home that is fully furnished with every amenity and updated top to bottom. Not only that, the location/neighborhood is PERFECT: walk to town, walk to beach, on a quiet & safe street. What more can you ask for? Oh wait, that's right - as landlords, they are in close proximity and incredibly wonderful to work with. This one is a no-brainer. Plan your summer stay early - this one starts to book up in December and will be fully booked by the end of January.

Lovely and Comfortable Home in Great Area

My husband and I rented this Harwichport house on Columbus Day weekend because it was near the site of a wedding we were attending and because it had everything we needed (including a crib and highchair) for the two of us, our daughter, and our son and daughter-in-law and their baby. We were all very happy with the rental. The house is lovely, well laid out, and nicely decorated, as well as comfortable, immaculately clean, and well-equipped. The kitchen, especially, is unusually well-equipped. And the location is perfect, with short walks to both the village and the beach. The owners have left a binder with with all the information needed for operating and locating things on the property and with information about the village and nearby restaurants. Included in the binder is a little history of the immediate area, which we found quite interesting. Furthermore, Marilyn is readily available by phone to offer any needed help or advice. We highly recommend this property.

Exceptional Family Harwichport Getaway

This house was fantastic for our family of five - two teens and a 10-year-old were each able to enjoy their own room, master was roomy and comfortable. House was incredibly clean and well-appointed, TV's and WiFi worked beautifully. Close to town, easy walk to beach, beautiful neighborhood. We would come back again and again!

Wonderful home in a great area

My wife and I, as well as my sister and husband from England enjoyed this wonderful place for a week this September. Very, very clean and well equipped. Pride of ownership was obvious. The beauty of this place is its location. Short walk to the beach as well as to town. Harwichport is much more unspoiled than many of the areas of the cape. Great restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend

Wonderful Cape Cod Oasis

Our family truly savored our vacation in this fabulous home and location. The house was beautiful, extremely well appointed with everything we could have possibly needed or wanted. The beach on Nantucket Sound was an easy walk, just down the street, and very family friendly. We frequently strolled to Harwichport center and enjoyed the shops and restaurants as we passed away the summer evenings. Our stay was perfection!

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!

This house was so FABULOUS! We have been renting on the Cape for about 40 years, and this house was the best we have ever had. Marilyn had thought of EVERYTHING. There was extra towels, sheets,pillows and GARAGE BAGS. The thing I liked the best was that the house was so CLEAN. It was so wonderful, you could walk to the beach and into Harwichport. I would give this house 5 star rating. It is really a treausre.

August Vacation

The home was absolutely beautiful and perfectly maintained. Upon entering, the house was sparkling it was so clean which is always very comforting. All of the amenities of home were provided which made things much easier when realizing I might have forgotten something when packing. I did have one question for the owner and she was easily accessible and got right back to me which was also a plus. The walking distance to the beach as well as to shops and restaurants was what we were looking for and this location did not disappoint. We usually hit the same restaurants when we are in the area and would recommend the following: The Port, The Hot Stove, Ocean House, The Marshside & Mahoney's - of course Clancy's is always an easy stop as well. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend.

We were fortunate to purchase the original cottage, which used to stand here in the late ‘70’s and then custom built the year round home seen here in the’90’s. We spent our summers in the new house when our kids were young and we now offer to share it with you to make your Cape Cod family vacation memories.

Location, location, location, as well, this is not a cottage….its a beautifully built up-to-date year-round home.
