Perfect beachfront home with dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean and panoramic views from Monterey to Santa Cruz! Spectacular 3000 square foot home at Pajaro Dunes located on a secluded expansive beach on the magnificent Monterey Bay coastline.

The main house has three bedrooms--all with an ocean view. The Guesthouse is perfect for teenagers, kids or a separate family with 1-Queen bed, 4-Twin beds and a full bathroom.

The kitchen is fully stocked and equipped for your cooking needs. Just bring your food.

One of the few Pajaro homes that you can drive right to the front door--most homes in the area are accessed by a long boardwalk. The driveway will accommodate two cars, with nearby street parking for additional cars.

Pajaro Dunes has 24-hour security, biking & jogging trails, volleyball and basketball courts. The tennis courts are 1-block from the house. Kayaking and bird watching at Elkhorn Slough is ten minutes away.

Nearby cities such as Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel are only a 20-30 minutes away including famous golf courses, restaurants and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Great house and location.

We loved the house for our family of 7, 5 teens ages 16-19. Great location. Fun beach. The house was setup with everything we needed. Great family time. We would definitely go back. The ocean view is spectacular. The courts are located nearby. Beautiful mornings with walks in the beach were a perfect start to our day. Thank you!

Perfect Home

The house was amazing and big enough for our party of 10 adults. It was stocked with everything we needed and more. The beauty of the ocean outside the living room was a perfect beginning and ending everyday. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic home with premier location

We absolutely loved our stay at this home in Pajaro. Our extended family appreciated the roominess and great floor plan. Very clean and well equipped . The hot tub overlooking the ocean was a fantastic experience.

Perfect Pajaro Week

We've stayed at this great home multiple times with our family, and keep coming back for the gorgeous setting and views, huge, comfortable great room where all can gather and fabulously stocked kitchen. Vacation memories

Fantastic for Families or Adults but ...

Property is made to enjoy oceanfront stay. Huge deck, multiple deck chairs and sun lounges. Hot tub that overlooks the ocean with clear windbreak. Separate over garage accomodations for kids to stay together or whole family for privacy. Very clean. One issue - small discreet camera was mounted on top of tv. We pulled off of double back tape and left it dangle down but tv room is the downstairs bedroom which female in our party used and detected during stay. At end of stay notified property manager for explanation - no response.

House 43 Vacation 4th of July

Our family has spent the 4th of July at Pajaro Dunes every year since 1974. We've rented several homes over the years and House #42 is our favorite! The front deck facing the ocean is probably the best at Pajaro! The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and the spa is amazing. We also love having a garage! You'll love House 42!

Time at the dunes

The house was fine except for the outside stairs to those bedrooms. I found going outside was too risky for us in our mid seventies with some joint issues. We had to move to the TV room and sleep on the sofa bed. Not optimal. The house should have a true bedroom on the first level. Other than looking a little tired, it was a good time with the family. Being on the beach was perfect.,

Beautiful Beach House

Gorgeous location with breathtaking views of the ocean and beach. Easy access to the beach with lots of beach chairs, sand toys…Plenty of space for family; sleeping, meal times and gathering. Great kitchen with everything you would need, extra fridge, BBQ, games and a large TV. The outside deck has lounge & deck chairs, picnic table and a hot tub. Love this place!!

Beautiful view!!

This property has beautiful views! Gated community. It’s not updated but that didn’t matter to us, it was clean! Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. Beds were comfy. We loved the large deck with chairs and the hot tub. We walked the beach every day, fished and our grandkids found a lot of shells.

Beautiful vacation & priceless memories with family

We had a group of 11 people stay for five days at this property. The age is ranged from 8 to 70+ years old. There was some thing for everyone. There were plenty of games, sand toys, boogie boards, kitchen spices, beach towels, bath towels, blankets, beds…you name it! The ice machine, wet suits, Jacuzzi and the bar area were all great bonuses in our book. The bbq grill was clean and ready to use, as was everything else on the property. The view from the large living room and dining room is breathtaking. The back patio is perfectly maintained and can allow for some to sun bathe while others relax in the jacuzzi and both can enjoy watching the sea otters or dolphins swim by in the ocean. The only minor set back was that the guesthouse didn’t get phone reception or Wifi connections which was fine since the kids were forced to “unplug” and chill when they went back there to sleep. Also, the two other bedrooms in the main house are not accessible from inside. So nightly the senior citizens had to go outside and up the stairs to go to their master bedroom. They got used to it and said that wouldn’t deter them from coming again since there were way too many great things about this house. We would definitely stay here again if given the chance to do so.

Family vacation

Our family had an amazing time and this beautiful property. We love Pajaro Dunes and stay about twice a year. This was our first time at this property and we were very happy with everything. The house was fully equipped with everything that we needed for our trip, which is not always the case. The whole family loved the deck and were so excited to see the otters in the water. Beach access was very close. The spa was great since it was still alittle cool during our visit. All of the kids are already asking to go back to this house.

Serenity Abounds

We really enjoyed our stay at this ocean-front property. The house was very clean and well-appointed. The kitchen is filled with everything we needed to comfortably prep all meals during our stay, and then some. The extras in this kitchen abound, even boasting full, carafe coffee pots & a Keurig. An extra refrigerator in the garage was also a nice bonus feature. The spa on the deck was enjoyed immensely as the view could not be beat! Plenty of room and chairs on the deck to soak up sun and read a book. The beds we’re comfortable in the main house and the guest house was perfect for our kids. They had a great place to play games and hang out while still safely on the property. The unique features of this house, some refer to it as quirky, just added to the fun. Looking forward to staying again in the future!

Christmas gift

This house is wonderful. Location and view and hot tub and lounge chairs and furnishings all amazing. We stayed during a powerful storm that washed away about 4 feet of the dunes. The wind and rain whipped the ocean until it looked like hot chocolate with whipped cream! We managed beach walks every day in spite of the inclement weather. The pellet stove was a warm and cozy welcome. One car fit into the garage the other two on the driveway. Unloading was so easy. The stairs to the 2 upstarts bedroom’s are outside but close to the house in the sheltered courtyard so even in pouring rain it was ok. The detached ADU is above the garage facing the ocean and gave one family complete privacy. The ground floor bedroom is really a TV room with a large sofa that has a bed. The windows do not open in that room. All of the rooms have sturdy pocket doors that give privacy. The main living area is really pretty. A wall of two story windows opening to the deck is just like being on the beach itself! My family loved this house and would like to stay there again. FYI , we have been vacationing at Pajaro Dunes since 1976 and this is the best house yet!!

Beautiful Location on the Beach

We had such a wonderful time staying at this property! The house is super quirky, but it worked really well for our group. The two parents stayed in the main house in the spacious master bedroom suites, and the kids (all 6 of them!!) stayed in the large apartment like room above the garage (that has a separate entrance). Even my 4 year olds stayed in the room with the "big kids" as the front door to the property locked securely and I felt like everyone was safe doing so! The wifi did not work well at all, and there was little data coverage on my T-Mobile cell, but that did not matter as we happened to take the week off. But if that is important to you, you might need to check in with the owner to see if it is better now. The beach was beautiful, the hot tub warm and clean for the cold evenings, and the house was SUPER well stocked (even a kitchenaid mixer!!). We had everything we needed for a great stay in Pajaro Dunes!

Great stay (with some unforeseen challenges)!

I booked this property for a family getaway to celebrate a milestone birthday. The 12 of us had a great time cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, eating meals at the large dining table, and relaxing & sharing stories in the various spaces. The ocean views were spectacular and the easy access to the beach was fantastic. Watching the regular stream of pelicans fly along the beach and the dolphins swimming just offshore kept everyone entertained! Unfortunately, some unforeseen house/property issues that nobody could have anticipated did derail us for the first 24 hours or so. These things can happen, as there are sometimes variables that are outside of anyone's control. How unforeseen issues are handled is what can set some apart from the crowd. The hosts Greg and Michelle worked quickly to resolve the issues for us. Their swift action and desire to make everything right left us feeling confident that we were in good hands and we are excited to stay here again in the future!

Family Birthday Trip

This was a family trip for a 50th Birthday and the primary reason we booked this property was to enjoy the hot tub on the deck overlooking the beach which is hard to find. We have booked a couple other rentals in the area in the past. We have mixed reviews on this property. First what disappointed us: 1). Based on the listing everyone in our party was under the impression there were 3 bedrooms in the main house (with beds, etc.). However we couldn’t find the third bedroom… lol. It turns out the entertainment/living room with the big TV and couch is considered a bedroom and the couch has a pullout bed. This should be more clearly stated as it felt a bit misleading. 2). The hot tub had a lot of sand in it and the water looked green/dirty. We didn’t go in the hot tub the first night and some of our party was not comfortable using it until it was cleaned. We arrived on Sunday, however, the hot tub cleaner comes on Tuesday and Friday per my email with the property manager who said she would try to get him out earlier which didn’t happen. 3). Check in at 4 pm with no early check ins. We got there at 4:06pm and the cleaning ladies were still there with the garage open doing laundry stuff and going back and forth to the house. They said it was okay to go in but was a little awkward with them coming in and out as we were checking the place out. They left around 4:30. Not that big of a deal but would be nice if the place was fully ready and cleaning staff gone when we arrive. We thought maybe they were rushing which is why the hot tub was dirty but turns out they don’t clean the hot tub. The hot tub guy does. He used a sucker to get the sand out. Maybe they could teach the cleaning staff how to use that so the hot tub is clean for arriving guests that come before the hot tub guys cleaning days. 4). There was a burnt out light bulb in the kitchen which made it dark and several burnt out or not working exterior lights outside over and he stairs which could be a hazard as it was hard to see some of the stairs at night (required to get to bedrooms and inside). THE GOOD: Everything else was good. The deck was big and awesome. Interior courtyard was great for BBQing. We knew the property was dated and quirky with the outside stairs so no complaints there. Having a guest house was a nice feature. The pellet stove was a homey and cool way to have a fireplace setting at night. The hot tub (when cleaned) was great to use.

Stunning view of the beach with lots of wildlife.

We love the place. Wonderful beach access for morning walks on the beach. Great for families. Stop at Costco on the way so you don’t have to leave the place.

Why they chose this property

The home belonged to my wife's aunt who bought the home in 1973. When she passed in 1997 the family sold the home. We always would say "wouldn't it be nice to one day own a home like Aunt Esther had at Pajaro Dunes"? Fast forward to 2002 while surfing the net for homes for sale at Pajaro Dunes I noticed a picture of the deck and the description of the home and we we couldn't believe the house was for sale again. We bought it back right then and have had it in the family ever since. We are happy to share with others this unique home and all the memories that are created there.
