**Historic Savannah Home**Great for longer stays--Request a quote**
Welcome to our newly restored 1902 home! We took this beautiful historic home back to it's glory days and it is so inviting. With four fireplaces, wainscotting and coffered ceilings, it makes you feel comforted and soothed. This home's 11 foot ceilings, beautifully restored wood floors and spacious rooms will give you and yours lots of room to relax or play after a day exploring Savannah. Historic Savannah is blocks away and access to the interstate and all points north and south is less than a mile away. Restaurants, shopping and parks are all within walking distance.
The downstairs has a "great room" for reading and visiting. There is an expansive and comfy parlor for television watching and game playing. A full bath with a claw foot tub makes bathing the children and cooking dinner at the same time a breeze! The kitchen has all new appliances and cupboards. There is a dining room table that accommodates six with extra chairs for a few more. The washer and dryer are hidden behind french doors downstairs for easy access.
Up the grand staircase are four bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom has an antique queen bed with a full bathroom attached with a claw-foot tub and a private porch that faces the street. A great place to sit and watch the activity in the neighborhood! The parlor bedroom also has a queen bed with a sitting area for reading, relaxation and television viewing. This is a wonderfully sunny and warm room. There are two additional bedrooms, both with full size beds. They are cozy and charming. All the bedrooms have new mattresses as of February, 2019 with new sheets and bedding. There is a ring security device and doorbell and chime installed for the protection of the home. There are outside movement lights in the back yard to detect movement in this area.
This is a wonderfully restored home in a diverse neighborhood. There is a fire station two blocks away, a new police station opening soon just two blocks away and a church across the street.

This home had everything we wanted we got around town easy kids love the big rooms l loved the tree lined streets with the moss hanging down beautiful home
Our daughter is a student at SCAD and we stayed the week before she moved back in January. This house was beautiful, very large and the hosts were excellent.
The street could be busy/noisy at times with a fire station down the street and the church across the street but we didn’t mind at all and never felt unsafe. We had the same experience as other reviews with the rundown houses - they weren’t an issue at all and common throughout Savannah.
It is a long walk to the river (about 40 minutes) but it’s beautiful the whole way and we made several trips with our kids (11 and 9). That included the walk back from the fireworks on New Years Eve (no shot getting an Uber then). Forsyth is only 10 minutes away and we went there or through there almost every day. Kroger is a 15-20 minute walk and we opted to carry our groceries back instead of Instacart.
As we were there in January, the rooms varied in how warm they were - some very warm, some pretty cold. The rooms on the street side were colder. The doors to the balcony off the bathroom do not seal very well so I suspect that’s where the heat was going in that room. The TVs are fairly small and the audio wasn’t great on those.
We would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful, graceful older home - and it feels like a real home. It's a fairly easy walk to (and back) from all the gorgeous squares if you're physically able to walk a few miles. The journey is absolutely worth it due to the architecture all along the way and, of course, the magnificent oaks.
After booking the house, I took a Google tour of the surrounding neighborhood and was a bit apprehensive due to the fact that the house is in a transitional area. This is true of many areas of Savannah, I found. There are many blocks of renovated homes with a decrepit or abandoned house stuck right in the midst of them. This house sits across the street from a church (which we attended while there - very friendly congregation) and a line of houses that have seen better days. Any reservations I had vanished immediately - the street itself is quiet and the neighbors are friendly. Even though we were two "old ladies" alone in the house most of the time, I never felt the least threatened or afraid to be out after dark.
The owners have thoughtfully outfitted the house and kitchen with most everything you could possibly need. We never had occasion to contact the owners with any requests, but I am certain we would have received an immediate response.
All in all, we loved our time here and plan to return should the opportunity arise. I actually felt sad leaving this gorgeous house!
We had a wonderful stay for our golf week in Savannah Ga. We are a group of retired Air Force members who get together in different locations each year for our big golf getaway. We chose Savannah Ga this year for the location and atmosphere.
This Historic Savannah Home was the perfect choice for us. We were 1.5 miles from the City Market area, but this was close enough that we easily walked from the house, through Forsyth Park (only half a mile from the house), through several different squares, then enjoyed a leisurely stroll through City Market and down River Street. One evening we all Ubered downtown to enjoy a Ghost Tour and dinner.
We loved this house, especially for the kitchen/dining area and the front porch. Many nights we found ourselves gathering in the kitchen, cooking a meal, and reminiscing about our past trips. Other times, we sat on the front porch, sipping a glass of wine and chatting with the neighbors as they walked by.
I marked this as a 4 for location and neighborhood simply because there are a few houses in that block that need some renovation/upkeep. Our first impression driving into the neighborhood was slightly affected by this. We learned from one of the neighbors that the series, The Walking Dead, had recently been filmed on that block and at one of the houses down the street specifically. Which was the reason for the "look" of several of the houses. But this would be the only issue with the location and was easily relieved once we arrived at this house.
The only true complaint from anyone was two of the beds were not as comfortable as they had hoped. The rest of us really enjoyed ours.
We honestly had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting Savannah.

A few things to think of. Felt house should have been cleaned better. In the 2 bthrms a stand by the tub would be helpful. Back gate unlocks from inside but not on the outside. Found a sock under a dresser that wasn’t ours. Nail on porch is sticking up and a family of birds is living in the attic. The home is beautiful and nicely decorated. Just feel whomever takes care of the property for you should do a better job. Thank you, Nancy
This was the second time we stayed at the property. It is a beautiful historic home that the owners have lovingly restored. Everything is fresh and clean, and I love the high ceilings and beautiful details. The owners are extremely accommodating and the whole experience was outstanding. Would definitely recommend!!
Overall, excellent experience. The place is large, clean, and well-kept. Location is nice - if you like to walk like we do, then it's a beautiful and easy 40-minute walk through Forsythe Park and the historic district to the Riverfront. Also close to Starland area which is a nice area to explore. Ample street parking.
As for the house itself, it actually looks nicer than the photos suggest. The kitchen is well stocked with basic supplies. Plenty of sheets and towels etc. We were a little surprised to find the master bathroom and the downstairs bathroom had open bathtubs with a handheld showerhead, but nowhere to hang the showerhead up; looked charming but a little difficult to use. The upstairs bathroom in the hallway has a normal shower.
The owner was easy to communicate with. Only one little mixup at the beginning where they didn't answer a phone call when we were having trouble getting in, but everything was figured out and we had no other issues.
Overall would be happy to stay here again.
We recently stayed here while in Savannah for work. The house is recently restored/refurbished, and a tremendous amount of work and money was put into it. Everything was clean and neat, and it is a great combination of a historic home with modern amenities. The owners were wonderful to deal with, and actually shared some of the history of the home with us. Would definitely recommend!!
From start to end I was treated with hospitality and kindness. I rented this lovely home due to my son attending SCAD. All my plans where changed and uprooted due to hurricane Dorian. Debbie throughout the entire ordeal was there to assist me with the evacuation, school delayed opening and safety concerns. Once all calmed down with the storm passing, I came back to her lovely home, which was cared by for by Scott, who was very kind, accommodating and a SCAD graduate which made me feel comfortable to have my son part of this fabulous community. This home is in a diverse community which also was extremely friendly and welcoming to my family and myself. My stay was like being at my own home but with so much Savannah charm. The decor of the home made you feel like you living in the old Savannah days, while all the modern day facilities where in place to keep your stay comfortable. Absolutely enjoyed everything about my stay in this southern charm and looking forward to staying again. Thank you Debbie.... and Scott too
This home was stunning. You could just feel the love and hard work that went into making this house a home. We kept talking among ourselves if these walls could talk and tell us about the history and memories that took place there it would be amazing! It gave you that “Gone With the Wind “ feeling. If you have the opportunity please stay at this home. It is beautiful!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Savannah thanks to having this beautiful home away from home to come home to every evening.

Just right for a big group or family
This beautiful restored turn of the century home allowed our extended family to spend quality time together while providing plenty of personal space for sleep and private time for 6 or more. The renovations were done well. The historic flavor remains while all modern conveniences are there. We especially enjoyed cooking for a crowd in the large open kitchen and dinning area. The beds were very comfortable and we all took advantage of the claw foot tubs . Really, it felt like our own home. The owners and caretakers cared about our stay. The response time for questions or needs was immediate.
Having visited Savannah many times, we felt safe in this transitional neighborhood. In Savannah all types of people live side by side and that is evident here. The neighbors we met when walking were friendly and happy. Distance to the Park and historic was just a few minutes. This was the perfect place for us and we would love to stay here again.

About the host

We live in Western Colorado year round and are both over employed. Our family lives in Colorado, so we are grounded here. We love the South and Savannah's charm and beauty. We find Savannah to be a great hopping off point for areas to the north and south, so we get to visit other areas also. We will go for a day trip or take an overnight and still get to come back to this home.
