Loved the location of this house. Was amazing to have forest right out the back door. We loved getting up every morning and being able to walk off the back porch to go hiking on a bunch of trails. Kitchen in house was great - good size made it easy for cooking. There were quite a few cobwebs in the house and the lighting in the house was not very good. Had hard time figuring out heating and no firewood was available so we had to gather our own.
The property had no heat other than a wood stove in the kitchen and two portable space heaters. No rugs on the tile so the floors were unbearably cold. Each bed only had a sheet, a quilt and a sheet on top of the quilt so no one was comfortable sleeping. The house is for sale which was not in the listing. A realtor showed up at 9 am the first morning and attempted to show the house before I asked them to leave. The property management folks never responded to any of my messages.. House was dirty and very dusty. Ad promised there was plenty of firewood to burn but there was none. We had to go out in the forest and find what we could to stay warm. Very disappointing stay.
The property owners do not monitor vrbo. We booked two weeks in advance, were never sent instructions to get into the property, and despite driving all the way from the valley, we couldn’t get in. The owners were completely unreachable. We called them, messaged them, vrbo support called them. No response. Had to get a refund and book somewhere else a couple days later. This listing needs to be taken down. Don’t risk it. Don’t book here.
I was unable to gain entry to property. Once I arrived at property and after trying to contact owner for an hour, I was given an entry code by owner that was incorrect. Owner was in Europe and hard to reach. There was no cell service (rainy) at property, had to drive a mile down the road for cell phone coverage. I was finally given correct entry code the next day. I was unable to stay but did finally receive full refund.
We had a nice time at the cabin. Backs up to forest and has all the amenities. There are numerous trails to hike and we did many, right outside the back door. The extra space heaters were nice being there in the winter. Not a lot of comfy outdoor seating but nice big deck in front and large open fireplace in back. Only issue was The WiFi is weak and so could only be on one device at a time. They have internet tv which took up most the bandwidth,, but it worked most the time and we enjoyed watching some good movies. Overall this is a great place to get away!
Comfortable cabin, but could use a little bit of sprucing and tending to (comfortable outdoor furnishing, gated back patio, cleaner carpet upstairs, fixing broken locks on back patio door and bathroom downstairs). WiFi was very poor - especially when traveling with multiple teens. But overall it was a comfortable stay - we were out and about most the the day in any case.
Our family stayed 3 nights recently, we were very happy with this property choice!! Excellent location backing up to the forest with endless hiking and mountain biking trails available out our back door. Bonus - Elk serenading us at night and coyotes cruising by in the morning.
