About this property

Spectacular, clean, charming, private and great for surfers or families.

Breezy high ceiling 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom bungalow. This is a beautiful, comfortable and well loved home with a private entrance and spacious private garden. Garage offers a lot of room to put down your surf boards. Outdoor shower, propane barbecue, outside patio dining, eat in kitchen island, gas stove and gas oven (for the cooks). Immediately across from the entrance to popular beginner surf spot, 'Freight's Bay'. 5 minute walk to South Point surf spot and a 10-15 minute walk to 'Miami Beach' and 'Mr. Delicious' who makes incredible rum punch and fish cutters. Comfortable Barbadian home in a safe, residential, coveted upscale, friendly neighbourhood which is often full of happy surfers on days when the waves are up. Must love dogs (all the neighbours have dogs for pets) and they speak to each other occasionally at any given time. It's a truly beautiful Barbadian experience with rum punch waiting in the fridge for guests on every arrival.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin size beds that can be pushed together on request. We also have a fold away bed which can be rolled in to either bedroom. And we have a baby crib which I can set up for your arrival.

The ever popular Oistins fish market is walking distance away. There is also a grocery store not too far and many restaurants and snack places a short drive away. You don't need a car but we do recommend one for at least part of your stay so you can explore the island. I have a friend who rents cars at incredible rates, so feel free to shop around but I'm happy to get you a quote as well.

The TV in the living room offers access to Netflix and YouTube.

We have two bicycles for use during your stay with helmets and locks. This is a fun way to explore surrounding areas.

The Blades family owns Coconut Court Beach Hotel located in Hastings, Christ Church (about 20 minute drive from the bungalow). Our guests are welcome to day use as this hotel. They have a rum punch party every Monday and movie nights on Sunday. They also do Karaoke on a Saturday. Sundays also have a great buffet and live music. There is lovely swimming area and amazing beach bar, Captain Charlie's (my father in law), all at this hotel. Definitely plan to take advantage of this perk while staying in our guest house.

I love this home and ask that you treat it with love as well Avoid sitting on sofa if covered in sweat or sunscreen. Use coasters and clean spills
Report all breakage or damage to your host. Do not remove bath towels from house. There are beach towels to take to beach.
Do not leave food on counter as it will attract ants - put everything in the refrigerator. Take out garbage every day if it contains food scraps.

Better than home!
Tristan and Mark's bungalow is delightful! A short walk or bike ride to the beach in a beautiful neighborhood with ocean vistas every other step - what more could you want! The home is much more attractive than portrayed by pictures. With a well equipped kitchen, we were able to prepare meals and take advantage of essential appliances. Bedrooms are very comfortable with an en suite in the MBR. The patio was our favorite place to experience breezes, retreat, eat, read, you name it. Tristan and Mark were very responsive to our questions, generous with their time and patience, and even allowed us to use their family's beach resort short drive away - If you surf or if you do not (we do not), we highly encourage you to stay here !!!!

Simply Perfect!
We were first timers for Barbados and it will NOT be our last! The home was lovely, clean, quiet, safe and just a step away to surf! Every single recommendation from Tristan was spot on! Tristan stands out all on her own with her warming welcome and ability to help at any given moment. She, and any of her recommendations, are just perfect! Any guest would be happy to select this bungalow for a stay!

Wonderful accommodations
This is the very best guest house we have ever stayed in. Immediately when you walk in, you are struck by the vaulted ceilings and open, airy rooms. The tropical breezes that cool the main part of the house are lovely and the air conditioners in the bedrooms were perfect for a sound night’s sleep. We love Freights Bay waves and this is about as close as you can get. The fully equipped kitchen was a real plus so you don’t have to eat out every meal. I really can’t say enough good things about the surfer’s bungalow. We will definitely be back!

The best accommodation ever
My family and I cannot stop raving how awesome the visit was to this home. So much so that we are working on plans to return to this lovely home for a longer stay next time. The kids got a kick out of greeting one particular baby bird every morning when they awoke from sleep. They were very sad to leave and even shed some tears. In any event, Tristan was ready and able to respond to our needs with haste. She was the best host that we ever had in our travels. Looking forward to returning. Thank you very much.

Great location for surfing!
I spent 5 days at Surfer’s bungalow with a friend.The property was clean and safe. The property owners Mark and Tristan were available for anything you might need with a quick response. I would definitely stay again!

My husband Mark is a local Barbadian and I met him while I was visiting his family's hotel back in 1990. I was 16 and he was 25. He was working the front desk and I just found any excuse to keep going to the desk so I could chat with him. I left the island to return to Canada with my family and professed that I had met the man I will one day marry. Many moons later in 2005 we were married on the beach in Barbados. This home is our first home we owned together. We later bought the bigger house next door and now rent this to friendly surfers and travellers and hope you all love this place as much as we do. We want to move back in one day the home is just that special.

The location is amazing. It is big, spacious, newly renovated bathrooms and as charming as you could hope for! You won't want to leave (or at least we hear that a lot).

Mark's family owns Coconut Court Beach Hotel in Hastings, Christ Church. Family owned and operated hotel for more than 40 years. Our VRBO guests are welcome to use the amenities at the hotel.

You will feel like an extended part of the Blades family as this home is in a neighbourhood filled with many many Blades family members including parents, sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews (all who surf). We are happy to give you privacy but often our guests join in on family activities (which often include alcohol...).
