WHALE COVE BEACH HOUSE - An idyllic three-storey PRIVATE summer home on the gorgeous west coast of scenic Cape Breton Island. It is set on 10 acres with over 1,000’ of oceanfront to explore.

This private, full two-storey space is 2000 square feet with three large bedrooms and two full bathrooms. All three of the bedrooms feature very comfortable queen-sized beds. The spacious main floor features a large bedroom with full ensuite bath as well as a fully-equipped, large country-style kitchen that is stocked with all the essentials and includes laundry facilities. The eating area comfortably accommodates dining for six. The large living room features a wood-burning fireplace and walk-out to a massive 800-sf deck. This is the perfect area to gather, sunbathe, barbecue, dine or enjoy the spectacular unobstructed coastal views. On the top floor there are two bedrooms and a bath with walk-in shower. Wireless Fiber OP internet and Fibe TV are included, along with a Sonos sound system.

Whale Cove is a perfect base for exploring Cape Breton Island. We are conveniently located 5 minutes off the world-famous Cabot Trail. A short 20-minute drive south along the coast is world-renowned golfing at Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs - rated #10 in the WORLD by Golf Digest! Just 20 minutes north along the coast is the charming Acadian village of Cheticamp and entrance to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. This gorgeous home is just a short walk or 5 minute drive to three beautiful sand beaches where you can enjoy swimming in the warmest waters north of the Carolinas.

Be spellbound by the dramatic sunsets over the ocean from the west-facing deck as you enjoy an evening cocktail. Sip your morning coffee from the deck or take it with you for a stroll along the bank at the waterfront. Watch the whales and seals as they swim past the front of the property, bald eagles as they fish or local lobster boats pass by. There are many local attractions and activities to enjoy, whether scotch tasting at the Glenora Distillery; fly fishing on the Margaree River; golfing or playing tennis at Cabot Links; relaxing on one of the local sandy beaches; hiking; whale watching; kayaking or paddle boarding; visit a local artisan or market; enjoying a local Cèilidh; square-dances; and so much more. Fantastic place to stay

Our stay was wonderful. The view from the house is amazing. House was very clean and the kitchen was large and easy to find any item that was needed. Beds were comfortable. We would definitely come back and encourage our friends to stay here.

Great Location

This was a lovely home with a wonderful view of the water. It had 3 large rooms, two baths, and overall plenty of space. The location of the home is quite desirable being minutes from the Cabot Trail. Lloyd was very attentive and accommodating. Would stay here again.

Beautiful place with spectacular views just off the Cabot Trail

Lovely place, well equipped and peaceful with breathtaking views. The hosts communicated well and everything was very clean and it was a great location near towns and the national park.

Heavenly getaway!

This is our group’s second year staying here and we loved it even more than the first stay. The cabin/house is incredibly cozy and the view and surroundings area are amazing! 10/10 and very close to the Cabot trail.

Perfect get away

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The hosts were great - the well equipped home fits the area perfectly - it is centrally located to area attractions - it is wonderfully isolated - the deck is large and has a panoramic view of the ocean. It was great headquarters for exploring Cape Breton, but we enjoyed spending time at our home as well…happy hour on the deck watching the sun set is a must.

This property is gorgeous…from the comfy home to the amazing cliff walks.. when we weren’t on the deck being dazzled by the sunsets , we were out hiking the many trails and eating at the many excellent restaurants in the area… A wonderful holiday indeed…

Absolutely Delightful -- every aspect

I couldn't recommend this property and commend the owner more highly. Exactly as listed - exactly what we were seeking: location (perfect launching point for all exploits); accommodations (comfortable, clean, and lovely); kitchen (everything we needed); setting (peaceful and what a view!). Awesome location and view

This VRBO rental was in a great location near the Cabot Trail. The views from the front deck were spectacular. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the required spices and condiments. The bedrooms were comfortable. Communication with the owner was great. Very enjoyable stay.

3 day weekend getaway

This Property was everything we had hoped for and more. The view from the large deck complete with a very comfortable table and chairs was endless. Inside the home was very clean with lots of open space. All we needed to do was move in and unpack. Highly recommend this property.

Wonderful relaxing experience

What an amazing spot to relax and unwind with the beautiful ocean views and sounds of the waves hitting the shore. My family had a wonderful time travelling to many areas on Cape Breton. The location is perfect for exploring the National Park with it's breathtaking scenery and many hikes, relaxing on the nearby beaches or just sitting on the gorgeous deck admiring the view. Lloyd was a perfect host with many suggestions on local beaches and restaurants. The house is very spacious and well equipped. The evening sunsets were spectacular - you couldn't ask for a better location to sit and admire the view. A memorable family vacation for sure.

Awesome Relaxing Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. The view (especially sunset) is magnificent from the deck and the massive yard through the woods down to the grasslands where the cliffs and beaches meet the sea (and the owner has mowed a long pedestrian path to strategically arranged seating). The large kitchen made cooking easy and we enjoyed the local foods the owners gave us to try during our stay. The beds were comfortable and I especially liked being able to hear the ocean while falling asleep. The owner is easy to reach and knowledgeable about local attractions and restaurants. The location is nicely situated in a secluded spot, but a short drive to towns. Everyone in the family agrees that we’d like to return!

Wonderful!

We had an amazing time at Whale Cove. The house was perfect for our family of 5 adults and had everything we needed. Household items such as laundry and dish soap were provided as well as an amply stocked spice cabinet. We loved the coastal access via the trails cut by the owners and enjoyed regular walks and sunsets along the stunning coast. The house is centrally located to many activities along the west side of CB. In our many years of VRBO rentals, we have never encountered such gracious, helpful and kind hosts/owners. We have no hesitation in recommending this property and would love to return in the future.

Great House with Killer Views

This is a spectacular house. It has a very private setting with views of the gulf and working lobstermen from the deck. Inside it is clean, very well stocked and spacious. Lloyd and Kevin were wonderful hosts, who shared their knowledge of the area around Margaree Harbour. My wife and I couldn't recommend this property more. It was the highlight of our four week tour of NL and NS.

Amazing stay!

What a beautiful home and a spectacular view, especially at sunset! Loved the ambiance, the vintage look. We were 6 adults and never felt we were in each other's space. The grounds are gorgeous and even though you need to take a car to get to grocery store or restaurants, you can easily take lovely walks alongs groomed paths. Beaches nearby are great. Thanks Lloyd for being so friendly and you recommendations for restaurants were on point! Would definitely stay there again! Marisa

Simply amazing!

Our first visit to Cape Breton was so memorable, in part due to our awesome accommodations. Our experience from start to finish was top notch. Kevin was very easy to communicate with. Beautiful Property

This property was absolutely stunning. The view from the deck and the adirondack chairs is truly remarkable. You are just a couple miles off the Cabot trail and in between Inverness and Cheticamp which both have great food options. The property itself was very clean and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals at home. The check-in process was extremely easy and the communication with Lloyd was spectacular. He provided recommendations for food and activities which was greatly appreciated. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, I highly recommend this property!!

Perfect getaway

Don’t hesitate to book this property! Truly a very special place with jaw-dropping views of the water and the coastline. Very private. Fully stocked house with everything you can possibly need. Very clean. Sandy, picturesque beach (best we’ve seen in Cape Breton) is 2 minutes away. The Skyline trail is some 30 minutes away. Owner is very responsive. One of the best rentals I’ve been to!

Amazing property and vacation!

My family of four adults had an amazing time at this property! The house was clean, spacious, well decorated, and had everything we needed for a week on Cape Breton Island. Lloyd and Hugh were lovely hosts- so kind, welcoming, and flexible with a payment issue ahead of our arrival. They provided recommendations for favorite spots and were very nice to talk to, but were also extremely quiet and respectful of guest privacy. The views from this property are even better than the photos, with amazing sunsets every night from the large deck, and lots of walking trails down to the cove and ocean. It is a great location with easy access to the Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. We would not hesitate to stay here again on future trips!

Paradise

The property is absolutely gorgeous and with 3 couples, we had ample room to be together and privacy when needed. Each of the 3 bedrooms is perfect. We so appreciated the owners taste in decorating. The kitchen is well appointed and overlooks the water, so even dishwashing was a pleasure. The deck is huge and the sunsets truly spell bounding. Kevin was easy to communicate with and was extremely helpful. We definitely would recommend this property for a peaceful relaxing stay as well as an easy jump off point to enjoy the Cabot Trail and the Margaree area. Gorgeous beaches are minutes away. I cant say enough.

Everything promised and more!

This is a fantastic clifftop house! Every room is spotless, tastefully decorated and attractively furnished. Large kitchen, dining area, and living room with expansive ocean views. Sunsets were sensational and we enjoyed the huge deck throughout the day, including al fresco meals. Easy access to Cabot Trail and several outstanding golf courses. Beautiful beaches are within short driving distance. The property itself provides extensive groomed clifftop walking paths, views, and attractive seating areas (but no direct water access). The property provided for every need and more - including locally sourced welcome treats. We would return in a heartbeat!

Nothing Short of Amazing!

Beautiful home located on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence with stunning ocean and sunset views from the expansive west facing deck. The cottage is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The owner maintains a suite below but you would never know he's there...I actually got to meet him and he's super nice and quick to reply to any questions. The cottage is close to everything; The Cabot Trail, grocery and liquor store, gas station and The Dancing Goat Cafe and Bakery where we started every day. If you're planning a vacation in Cape Breton, I enthusiastically recommend Whale Cove Cottage. We will be back!

I fell in love with this property when introduced to it by my real estate agent, even before it was listed. I always loved the west coast of Cape Breton Island where the waters are warmest, the sunsets without compare and an unparalleled coastline. I flew down to take a look at it and the rest is history.
