About this property

Spacious Beach House with Spectacular Ocean Views and Private Beach Access

The cottage name is "High Tide" and is truly a hidden gem! It's located on a small island/peninsula called Little Neck in Ipswich MA that not many know about. Little Neck is a gated, private community where you can step back in time, relax, enjoy family time or begin a new adventure. It's a Seasonal property and only rented May - October. Off season May, part of June, part of September and October there is a 4 night minimum rental. Peak season June, July and August half of September there is a one week minimum rental.

The 100 year old cottage has been updated with all the modern amenities to make it easier to relax and enjoy the spectacular views but has kept its historical charm and roots. It boasts water, beach and sand dune views from every room, the beach is about 200 yards away, includes access to kayaks, a private community dock and two kids playgrounds. High Tide sits on a small hill overlooking the water with spectacular views of Crane Beach, known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Northeast, as well as views of Plum Island, Gloucester and the Ipswich River salt marshes.

“High Tide”, is the quintessential vacation place, complete with wrap around porch and rocking chairs to enjoy the fabulous sunrises and sunsets. The place is clean, spacious and well cared for. There are 4 good sized bedrooms, a generous sized amenity stocked kitchen, a large dinning room to accommodate a crowd for a lobster bake, a sunroom to enjoy your morning coffee, a large porch for coffee, afternoon cocktails or a place to nap, a family room with gas fireplace, and a must try outdoor shower.

Each bedroom has a water view. The primary bedroom has a king bed with smart TV, 2nd bedroom has a queen, 3rd bedroom has a full and the 4th bedroom located on the first floor has two twin beds.

Amazing place to watch the sunrise and sunset, and has the perfect night sky for stargazing! Comes with some beach chairs, beach toys and a wagon to bring your belongings to the beach. It includes two flat screen smart TVs, WiFi, washer and dryer, Weber gas grill and some air conditioners when needed.
Ipswich has great restaurants, is rich in history with historical houses to visit, the best homemade ice cream around, easy access to Crane Beach Estate and so much more. It’s close to other cities and towns to explore including Rockport, Newburyport, Gloucester and only one hour north from Boston. See details under location tab.

The Little Neck community has a schedule of social events for the season that you're welcome to join in. Typically most weekends there is an adult or family event such as a beach bonfire and roasting marshmallows or a lobster bake on the beach. There is a "coach" that plays organized games with the kids on the ball field each morning Monday - Friday and is free to those kids who don't require a babysitter.

Great stay at High Tide. Amazing view of the Ipswich River and Plum Island Sound. All the amenities one could want and very friendly & helpful hosts made our stay very relaxing. A real gem!

Beautiful settingl

The cottage is well taken care of. The sunroom was delightful and spent many hours there looking at the water. The sunsets from the porch were amazing and one evening we had a bagpiper playing down by the beach. A month before our visit we sent an email to confirm some questions. We never heard back till a few days before we were to be there It was vey unsettling for us as we had a long drive ahead The owner asked us to text her when we were 30 minutes from the house and she would meet us there and show us around. We never heard back from her. After we arrived she texted us she could stop later but we needed to go out to buy food We loved the house overall

Killer Views

My family and I rented High Tide in mid-Sept 2020 and had a wonderful time! Check in was easy. Property was exactly as described. Communication was easy, owners were quick to respond, super friendly and helpful. We found the cottage very clean and comfortably furnished and decorated. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful sunroom (on cool mornings) and amazing outside porch (on warm afternoons and evenings), both of which have killer views! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, even tuperware for leftovers. I found a raspberry bush on the side of the house with beautiful raspberries for my breakfast cereal!! The front porch had fresh herbs in a large planter and there were fresh flowers in vases in sunroom and master bedroom.! Lots of very nice extra touches!! We would highly recommend High Tide and hope to be back again!!

Super location for enjoying outdoor activities, both on Little Necks and elsewhere off-island. Nothing short of Wonderful!

My husband and I were fortunate enough to find ourselves restoring our sanity at High Tide. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. The house was so comfortable. The front porch is the best place to spend the day just relaxing. The master bedroom has the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. Linda, the owner was so kind and thoughtful. Our flight was cancelled ☹ and we had to scramble and rebook a flight that didn’t get us to the house until about 9:30 p.m., almost 12 hours later than expected, but Linda was there to greet us and make us feel welcome. The neighbors invited us over for a glass of wine and made us feel like family. I could go on, and on, and on… So, as I said, I can’t say enough good things about our experience. But one thing for sure, we will be back. Assuming we can find an open week.

million dollar view!

We picked this location for our fall tour of New England and we weren't disappointed. The view from the front porch/deck was soothing and relaxing. We found the area to be a choice location to find local seafood at its finest. This was considered a 5 star vacation and I thank the owners for the opportunity to have stayed there.

Summer Bookend

We stayed here in the spring and decided to come back for a fall getaway. The location is perfect, the house is everything we could want and a bit more, and the owners are great. We love this area in the fall, beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights. A great place to relax, unplug, and listen to the waves. Can't wait to come back!

Perfect vacation spot!

High Tide is the perfect vacation spot. The home is even better than described. We spent many hours on the porch, watching the tide change, drinking coffee or wine (depending on the hour) and enjoying the quiet. The surrounding area is great to visit, lots to do. A great spot!!

Great place to relax!

We absolutely loved our stay at High Tide! No detail was spared in the house and many extras to boot such as fresh flowers, berries for the picking, and even a happy birthday sign to greet us, as we were celebrating a milestone birthday. Linda was so easy to communicate with and was very attentive to our needs. The neighbors were also so friendly and helpful! We enjoyed beautiful sunrises, sunsets and were even treated to a full moon while we visited - and all over the incredible ocean and marsh views. We enjoyed the area around Ipswich but found it hard some days to leave the incredible porch! Great beaches so close by and great places for day tripping. We will certainly be repeat visitors to Ipswich and High Tide!

Outstanding Getaway Location

The High Tide rental house is a gem! Linda was a wonderfully proactive and positive host, who helped us to get acquainted with the area even before we arrived. Traveling with young kids can be a trip, but the High Tide house made everything so easy! The wrap around porch and outdoor shower made it easy to enjoy coming home after adventures around town. With a beaches and playgrounds in walking distance, we didn't have to go far to find exciting places to explore. The neighbors were all very friendly and we enjoyed evening strolls. The house has everything! The kitchen is well-stocked and the rooms are beautifully decorated and thoughtfully appointed with everything you'll need to be comfortable and feel right at home. We hope to come back next year!

View from the porch!

High Tide is a classic beach cottage, VERY well kept. We were very comfortable there and found everything we needed. Whether you want to relax on the porch, head for the beach or explore Ipswich the house is a perfect home base for vacation. 180 degree views of the Ipswich River, even a gas fireplace for chilly mornings. It’s a perfect getaway, and we look forward to returning.

A beautiful getaway with so much it offer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at High Tide in Little Neck! Linda was easy to work with and her home was comfortable and so much character. Everything was clean and we had all the amenities we needed. The view from the porch was amazing and we enjoyed having our coffee there in the morning. Ipswich is a friendly little town with an interesting history. High Tide was a perfect place in which to relax but also close to most tourist areas as well. We utilized the train to Salem and Boston. We highly recommend Linda’s beautiful home and hope to return again.

Wonderful respite

Everything you could want for a vacation getaway. Stunning ocean views, comfortable and tastefully decorated digs, and one of the most pleasant neighborhoods we’ve ever been in. Loved the close proximity to the beach, and reading on the porch and sun porch with the ocean as a background was heavenly. Oh yes, and it came with every convenience - even the small items - one could ever need. Many thanks to Linda who was very pleasant and helpful while also giving us plenty of privacy to enjoy this great find.

A gorgeous cottage overlooking a panoramic view

This home is gorgeous. It’s beautifully furnished and decorated. The amenities are also very well thought out. Thank you, Linda, for being so responsive and detail oriented. We felt relaxed, content, and cozy all week, even when the rain/fog kept us from the beach. We will be back!

Picture perfect way to reunite and celebrate family

Our family gathered from all over the country for an 85th birthday celebration by the water. Our stay at the cottage couldn't have been more perfect. We relished the cool evenings by the fire and sunny mornings on the porch enjoying the beautiful view. We were able to cook a family meal as well as going out for lobster and clams at a local restaurant, walked on Crane Beach, ventured over to Plum Island and went running and mountain biking at nearby Willow Creek Park. What a wonderful area and stunning cottage. Thank you for sharing it!

Our family has been here for four generations and we are a close knit community. You can come here to sit and relax and do nothing or come here to experience and participate in the many social activities each week. Whether it's a beach bon fire roasting marshmallows, a cookout on the beach or a dance in the community center for the little ones, your welcome to join in the fun.

What makes this property unique

The most sought after place in the cottage is the front porch. Some prefer the rocking chairs and some prefer the comfortable seating. But there's no dispute over the incredible view; just which is better, sunrise or sunset.... I still can't decide.

The beach is just a short walk away, if you forget something.... no big deal, just walk back and grab it! A parents dream vacation spot!!
