River View Rainforest Tiny Cabin with Kitchenette (No Cleaning Fee)
This tiny house offers a private bathroom and a well equipped private kitchenette on a screened-in porch. You will also have access to our shared waterfall swimming area.
This cabin is off-the-grid. Being off-the-grid means that we get all of our electricity from the sun and all of our water is collected from the rain. We are not connected to the island's grid power system. Our solar panels charge a large bank of deep cycle batteries all day in order for us to have power around the clock. Guests are asked not to use any appliances that generate heat from electricity (such as toasters, hair dryers, curling irons, etc...) as they consume too much energy for an off-grid power system.
Regulatory Note: This is a hosted rental and is not subject to Hawaii County Bill 108.

This property is one of the most amazing places to stay. The closeness to the waterfall was magical and it just felt like a little piece of heaven... cannot wait to come back💕🌞
If you want to feel the through Hawaii you should go to this place.
It’s magical, simple, beautiful and you will connect with the nature.
I really recommend this place.

Exactly as described! Waterfall just 1 min walk away from cabin. Little kitchen. Private driveway. Little tricky to find even with google map direction, but once you get here, it’s worth it!
This is definitely something different from most vacation properties. Unfortunately for us, our stay corresponded with a 'kona low' rain storm and so we couldn't take full advantage of uniqueness of the property. In drier weather this could have been a lot of fun, but with constant rain it was only a step up from being stuck in a tent in the rain. The property managers were super friendly and helpful. The kitchenette is basically like camping. Don't plan on cooking much in it.
We truly felt like we were in paradise. Pictures don’t show the true beauty of the plants and trees and water. The sounds were incredible too. We had just came from Waikiki and it was so nice to be with nature - the true original Hawaii.
The cabin is better than the pictures. The grounds are incredible. A private waterfall with a large pool at the base. Its perfect for cooling off. Jungle sounds, rushing stream, a one lane road for morning walks. Perfect.
Had a great time at the property. Cabin was clean, in a serene private area, and had all the necessary amenities. Would certainly book again and recommend to others.
Great location in the middle of the rainforest 15 mins from downtown Hilo. Private natural swimming pool was awesome! I recommend take the scenic route to get to the cabin
This was so amazing! I literally was beside myself with how incredible it was.
Clean. Frogs! Spectacular waterfall! I got engaged here. So memorable, I love camping. This was glamping! Bidet, flushing toilet, warm shower. Great bed. Fabulous out door kitchen. Just what I needed for rest and relaxation. Warning, you need to be an active healthy person to stay here. Im from Alaska and this was a slice of heaven on earth.
The cabin was a nice, secluded stay, in a jungle flare. Sitting outside and listing the little waterfall and all kinds of animals was amazing. You could cook for yourself but the space was limited, but thats what to expect for a tiny house. Definitely would go there gain
We were looking for an adventure and we got one. We aren’t “campers” really but we thought we could do the tiny house. We also wanted to be in a jungle environment. This was the perfect setting for our two-night adventure. Location was convenient to area amenities. The sound of the waterfall and the frogs at night added to the whole experience. It was a fun stay!
The cabin is very cute, had everything needed for our stay. Communication was great, location was great, nice getaway. It’s not a 5star hotel so come with a camping mindset. It is darker and the humidity is higher but that wasn’t a problem for us, you can get sun at the main guest house or on the beach. The waterfall was beautiful but the water was too chilly for us to swim in, it is January after all. The hosts were very nice and helpful and the price was right!
Had a wonderful time at this secluded private cabin. We enjoyed the waterfall and the peace and quiet!

If you want different.
This tiny cabin in the forest if perfect if you want solitude, privacy and relaxation. You must have a vehicle to stay here. It is difficult to find especially if you first arrive after dark. The small kitchen is adequate for simple meals - there are no restaurants nearby. Acessed by steep often wet stairs down to a narrow path. More steps to the swimming area. Has a nice warm shower but do NOT drink the tap water even to brush teeth. Has a small refrigerator. We loved the place but recognize that it may not be for everybody.
Wonderful place, if you know what you are getting into
This location is secluded, quiet, and comfortable but without frills. We enjoyed the stream and setting. My husband described it as "a private hostel experience". The kitchen area is a screened-in porch so expect to wash your dishes the first time before using them as mildew grows as it is just so humid. The cabin has all the necessary features and nothing more. Two simple folding chairs for indoor use, two wire and strap chairs for outdoor use. Described as a tiny home, it doesn't have the super creative features that many tiny homes have to provide the needed features in space-saving ways. Instead, all the furniture/features are fit in without much space to spare. Overall we enjoyed it and would stay again but don't expect a glamping experience
We stayed in the tiny home on the stream down from the killer waterfall. So peaceful with the rushing water and chirping frogs. Amenities were decidedly sufficient ;-)
I loved the Rainforest Cabin. It is rustic, but had all the essentials I needed to stay comfortably. My son and I enjoyed the waterfall pool swimming daily during the stay. It is a very tranquil and meditative place. This is the true Hawaii if that's what you are seeking!
The perfect rainforest cabin experience. You can hear the waterfall right outside your bedroom and everything is minimalist, cozy and just lends itself to mental decluttering. Super relaxing and would love to stay here again!
This cabin is a wonderful getaway from a hectic and noisy life. It’s also a good base to explore the Big Island. I would definitely like to stay here again.
