Loved it!! Was a great time and very comfortable. If I had one complaint it would be the water. It would be nice to know what is in tank. So we were very cautious but all in all it was great!!
this house is an excellent place to get away from it all. Do your shopping before you get there. there is plenty of room to spread out and relax. we did take day trips to hike some local trails. mostly just watched nature, barbecued and enjoyed the firepit, should note there is a cistern so you should bring bottled water just in case, the owner returned my calls quickly and was very nice to deal with. Our family would stay here again
We easily found the cabin with our GPS and enjoyed our two night stay. Thankful that we had an SUV since a small car would have struggled to make it down some of the 5+ miles of dirt road sections. We weren’t aware of the non-potable and limited water supply prior to arrival. We had water bottles for our daily hikes, but not enough for cooking, preparing coffee, brushing teeth, drinking at cabin, etc. Fortunately they had 1.5 gallons of water at the cabin that we used, but would have brought more if we knew. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the unique layout of the cabin.

Very remote
Driveway needs marked better. Bbq grill needs thrown away. No heat besides space heaters. Hard to get a trailer down driveway do you think it would be better? I think a majority of the people staying there, ride, off-road vehicles and haul them to the location which is next to impossible to get down the driveway.
This property is a beautiful spot! It was so peaceful and no traffic anywhere. The house has a master bedroom with a king size bed and sofa, that makes out into a single bed. The second two rooms are more like loft areas. One has twin bunk beds and the upstairs has a queen bed. There are three more couches in the house, but they do not pull out to make beds. Their is a private pond on the property right outside the house where we caught catfish and white perch, all of which we returned back to the pond. That was fun! We also brought our ATV and rode out to the Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch & Adventure Park! It’s $30 per ATV plus $10 per rider. It’s beautiful and we rode for 7 hours and still didn’t get to explore everything. The downfall to this property is that there is only 500 gallons of water to use unless it rains which makes large groups have to REALLY conserve, the windows don’t have curtains so if you sleep in -tough luck because daylight is coming for ya! Lastly, there are stairs to all the bedrooms and the top bedroom with the queen bed is hot. This cabin is down a dirt rode, 11 miles, and could use a sign at the road turning in for folks who are unfamiliar. One of our vehicles went straight to the road, the other pinned a mile past it. I also recommend a large outside garbage canister if renting out for the owner to pick up. We had lots of garbage after cooking with our group for four days. All in all, this was a beautiful hippie home and we enjoyed our stay so much we are thinking of coming back again soon! Thank you for offering your “Hippie House” to us!
Rural, well-equipped, beautiful cabin! Close to great hikes and the off-road park but far enough away from everyone to escape the world and relax. Owner was easy to communicate with. Great spot for adult getaways or a family retreat!
We stayed here to ride at Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch. The secluded cabin was awesome and just 3 miles to the ranch so we were able to ride our side by sides directly to it. The host gave us suggestions for local stores and restaurants and over all it was an awesome experience.
We had a great time. If you're looking to get away from city life, this is the place to stay. It is very remote with beautiful views. Communication was good and the owner was very helpful. We left behind a pair of boots and they worked with us to get them back to us. It was very much appreciated. I would stay here again

Weekend Getaway
This place was beautiful and well decorated. The pictures were right on. The only thing left out was the stairs to the master and eagle nest! It was a little tricky getting up and down them especially for the middle of the night restroom trip. The scenery was gorgeous. It was forever down a dirt road, then the driveway was definitely not made for a car to go down., but the truck and atvs made it fine. We had a blast on the atvs exploring the property. We were going to cookout, but the propane bottle was empty, even after being assured that there was plenty. I’m glad we took our own lawn chairs because the ones there were a little scary looking. So we enjoyed a weeny roast and sitting around the fire. The fridge had issues, but hopefully that will be taken care of before the next visitors. We had our ice chests and had to make an unexpected trip down that forever long road back into town for ice. Make sure you take plenty of water. The water there is not for drinking. Again we took care of that at a little store in town so we were able to have some for the coffee and cooking. Would have been nice to know this before hand. First place I have ever rented and the fridge and cabinet had food. Not sure if it was just leftover from people before us or belong to the owners. I try to look on the bright side and Overall we had a wonderful getaway weekend. After speaking with the owner, they were supposed to comp us for the inconvenience of the propane and fridge, but haven’t seen any compensation.
Three miles form the Buffalo ranch, was nice to be able to ride over from the house. About a 1/2 mile off the road, vary secluded and safe. Be sure to bring all the drinking water needed for your stay.
We're from East Texas and we brought the kids here for spring break and they had a blast from fishing , exploring the property, we took the on a few hikes and even went to the Wilderness Rider and that was so much fun! Thanks for sharing your place with us!
Everyone had a wonderful time here! Couldn't have asked for better weather and a better property that offered a wide variety of things to do close by. You won't find a better sunrise in the area. The property owner was very kind, and quick to respond for any questions I had while planning. He even filled me in on a few other things in the area we could check out. Can't say enough about this place.
Great place and view. Cabin is very nice. Hard to get to.

out in boonies roughing it!
place was terribly far out! husband loved that part not I! everything except kitchen area was great! pretty certain we will end up w some flats on cars! dont take any kind of small car there! everything is dirt roads! At part did not disappoint and kings falls was beautiful! definitely need to know how to read maps bc no signal lol! first time floating buffalo and they were great and helpful at Buffulao outfitters! grill worked fine, biked were broken and no kayak or canoe at cabin! ponds kept the older kids entertained but not really any fish worth catching! thank god we only had 2 girls bc shower time is limited due to water shortage! one bedroom was pretty hot! no ac unit with bunk beds!
This house is a good place to stay, The house itself is super cool and quirky! There is a ton of land and activities that can be done at this location! My only drawback for this place is that it is about 25-30 minutes from Kingston center due to road conditions. Otherwise it is exactly as advertised!
Fantastic location and views! Very isolated and peaceful.
We had a wonderful time at this quirky and very spacious cabin. The fire pit is great and there was plenty of good firewood on site. The gas grill was pretty old and didn't work very well, but there is also a fire pit with a grill grate that worked great! Be sure to bring your own drinking water.
Well didn't get information from owner at first, he apologized he sent it to someone else, but very responsive considering the lack of cell service in so many areas, really a great area and great place, only thing could use another bathroom is all, property is great trails and all and very close to Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch, perfect ATV trip!!

We had fun and it was a nice home in a very scenic location. You can fish, it has great views, ride your ATV, see deer every day, star gaze, hike. You have plenty of room and it is great for kids.
Let me help the next traveler by clarifying important things we wish we knew beforehand.
1. Bring your own water. Yes, there is a cistern and you will not know how full it is. For the price, it would be nice to have some gallons already on hand.
2. Hit the Walmart in Huntsville on the way in. If not, you'll have to go back to get any food or water as it is about 40 mins from the home.
3. There isn't internet. There's cell phone service and if you have an unlimited data plan-you are good to go. However, there is no WIFI. The listing should be updated to make this crystal clear.
4. Several of the outlets did not work and no breaker box could be located which would possibly help.
5. You could have unexpected guests. One morning we were greeted by a stranger from an insurance company reviewing the house for any damage after a strong storm the night before. I notice that we weren't asked by the owner if we were okay. The message was that the home was the priority not the tenants inside.
A key to customer satisfaction is managing expectations. This review can hopefully fill in what the listing left out.
We had a great time the cabin is very nice and in a perfect location. I will say having one bathroom for 10 people was a bit of a challenge and it was pretty cold even with the heaters. But we were able to drive back and forth to the adventure park so it was great for the weekend! The beds placements are a bit confusing on the ad but we would be back with a smaller crew!

About the host

Property was in shambles when first purchased. Took over 2 years to finally complete the cabin the way we wanted it. We love the place but like everyone else, we lead a very busy life. Just hope others can enjoy it like we do.
Why they chose this property
Want to make a note that this cabin may not be for everyone. This is not a Holiday inn.
8 miles of dirt rd to a secluded spot on the mountain. You do have full cell service which can be used as a hot spot but we do not have wifi.
