Attention ot detail

My family and I had the most wonderful time staying at Sue's cabin. Her cabin features lovely bay windows that put you right into the the forest that surround you. She has decorated her home with beautiful, one of a kind wooden tables, bed, and carpets that let you know she loves this home and enjoys sharing it with others. We also loved sitting in her beautiful garden surrounded by the lush green grass, flowers, and plants among the giant pine trees. We played corn hole and counted all the different types of birds that came into her garden. Enjoying a morning cup of coffee in the garden while listening to the wind chimes was so relaxing. Sue has thought of everything her guests might want to use or need. She even included cute "stuffies" in case a small child forgot their own at home and needed one. The coffee tray in the kitchen offers coffee sugar, hot chocolate and tea. If someone in the group forgot their toothbrush, Sue has left some brand new "brushing kits" with both toothpaste and a brush. She has thought of everything. She obviously loves this home, and so did we.

Cozy cabin in the woods

The property is in a nice location nestled in the woods. It was the perfect home to start out our day each morning making breakfast in the well stocked kitchen, and ending our days enjoying Sue's beautiful backyard and hot tub! Communication with the owner Sue was exceptional, Sue was helpful answering any questions we had and provided so much helpful information about Lake Tahoe. Sue even went out of her way to provide us the beach chairs and an umbrella! ( I think it would be a great asset to include them and some beach towels in all future summer rentals) This was our first trip to Lake Tahoe , and we can't wait to come back! Thank you Sue for letting us stay in your beautiful home! If we could recommend anything upgrading mattresses and bathtubs would make this stay a 5+ stars (:

Great Home and location.

This property is in a great location, well maintained and the property owner communication is exceptional. Our stay was awesome and everything you need to be comfy is provided at the home. The hot tub made recovery from a full day of skiing a breeze. Book a stay, you won’t be disappointed!

Great South Lake Property

We really enjoyed our stay at Sue’s place. The property is exactly as pictured and was great for our group. The open living/dining/kitchen area was great for hanging out and making meals. The hot tub was really nice and easy to use. Sue was incredibly responsive to any questions. I’d definitely stay again!

This property was fantastic

The location is great, easy access to the slopes and the town. The house is clean and well kept. The hot tub was great and was a big hit! No regrets would stay at this house again.

Immersive Lake Tahoe Experience

Our group stayed at Lake Tahoe at Sue’s house. Let me tell you, that by staying there…it made our trip to Lake Tahoe downright the best vacation (not exaggerating). Sue was very helpful in answering any and all questions we had. She knew all of the great locations to go hiking, unique places to go eat, and all information that you’d possibly need to know. We were able to see areas and experience trails and sights that we would not have even dreamed of if it weren’t for her expertise. She even has a couple of binders that she has made in order to give you some ideas on what to do while in the area, and if you’re overwhelmed on deciding where to go, you can just ask her. She is one of the coolest people you will ever meet and is super down to earth. About the house: it was very cozy and feels very safe. The pictures on this site doesn’t do it justice. It felt like an authentic cabin/home that added its own ambience that you would never get in a hotel or condo. This place has a fireplace (which we got to use as Floridians), a hot tub with an incredible view of the night sky, a nice kitchen, a backyard with plush grass, pines and beautiful lavender, a comfortable living room with great entertainment, and the furniture is beautifully crafted from local trees. Every part of the house had a unique rustic element to it that just made you feel that you were not just on a vacation, but you were immersed in South Lake Tahoe. One of our favorite parts about this home would be the lovely hiking trails and meadows right in the backyard that leads down to the Truckee river. Truly breath-taking during the golden hours! We even got to see some wildlife right in our backyard! Our group will definitely be going back the next time we visit Lake Tahoe. Sue- Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! To say we had a great time is an understatement. The moment we left to go back to Florida, we were already missing this place and cannot stop talking about it with our family and friends! I grew up near the ocean in Saratoga, CA and enjoyed many great years of riding horses and being a huge nature and animal lover. Went off to college at Chico State and landed in South lake Tahoe where I have enjoyed 30 great years as an outdoor enthusiast. I am an avid skier (downhill and backcountry). I love mountain biking, tennis, photography, occasional yoga, and have enjoyed many years of unique adventure travel all over the world (I was a former US travel guide). I also enjoy art and music festivals and any unique experience that brings together conscious, like minded people that enjoy life! Adventure travel , the great outdoors, nature, and living life to it's fullest have always been some of my greatest passions. Currently, I share my home with my boyfriend Toby and his two teen aged kids, Taylor and Hunter who are 13 and 15. We live right above the ski slopes of Heavenly Valley. I have recently become a new host and love sharing my other "nature retreat" in South Lake Tahoe with great folks from all over the world! Please come and enjoy Tahoe ...I'm a local Tahoe expert!

Why they chose this property

I lived in this house for fifteen years and absolutely loved it! I purchased it for the location... It is located in one of the best and quietest neighborhoods on the south shore. The street leading up to the house has some great lake views. My house is the very last house on the street at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, right on the edge of the forest. There are beautiful nature trails that lead right from the house out to meadows, the Truckee river and some amazing views. The trails are great for hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snow mobiles or just getting outside and enjoying nature. The location is sunny, peaceful and quiet yet close to everything that south shore has to offer! Within a ten minute drive (or less) you can get to Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, shopping, restaurants, casinos, beaches and all of the downtown area (as well as the Nevada State line). You will also have easy access for leaving town as well.

Open beam ceiling in living room with large sunny, bay windows throughout the house give it an open, light, sunny during the day. Large open wood fireplace, up-down, privacy shades and dimmable lighting for a warm and cozy feeling at night. Master bedroom, bunkbed room and living room all have large screen, ROKU TV’s, 100's of free stations, movies, etc. Convenient USB charging stations located throughout the house. Kitchen has brand new stainless appliances and granite countertops. Refrigerator has filtered water. The backyard is very serene and quiet. A special “oasis” in the summertime! It is fully fenced, with beautiful towering pines and colorful deciduous trees surrounding the whole property. Very peaceful and quiet! There is an outside, large, open deck with comfy outdoor furniture and BBQ for outdoor grilling in the summertime. Lot’s of open space to play corn hole or hang out on the natural lawn (a rare treat in Tahoe). Hot tub is located in the back of the property in a very private, quiet location backed by open National Forest. I have included many extras with this house for people to enjoy. I try to be unique and different and give people a true Tahoe experience with all of the luxury comforts of home. A memorable experience! I think you will find my place to be much nicer than most "second homes" available in the Tahoe area with owners that don't even live here. I am a thirty- five year, full time, local resident here and am proud to call Tahoe my home. I am always happy to share some of my local secrets and provide an experience you will hopefully never forget!
