Crooked Lake Cottage - NEWLY RENOVATED - Great Sunsets & Boaters Paradise Await!

This quaint, completely renovated 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath cottage on Crooked Lake is the perfect Northern Michigan getaway. Situated on a deep lot with gorgeous mature trees, sprawling lawn and 150' of frontage on one of Michigan premier all sports lake this summer cottage is the perfect place to make memories. Cottage comes with a boat dock, kayaks, bikes, a grill and has the perfect lakeside firepit for the whole family near the waters edge. A large lake facing deck has plenty of room to lounge in addition to outdoor dining table for 8.

Inside the remodeled cottage the home features an open floor plan with lake views from the kitchen, living and dining rooms and offers the perfect layout for summer entertaining. The newly renovated kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and everything you'll need and the large island and stools make this the central hub of the cottage.

Crooked Lake is a unique all-sports lake - with access to the incredible chain of lakes system. Boats and jet skis are available for rent at 2 Marinas on the lake. Cruise to Pickerel Lake in a short 5 minutes or take the meandering Indian River to Burt Lake or beyond!

From June through September 1st this is a weekly rental from Friday to Friday. Offseason there is 4 night minimum.

Wonderful Time!

We loved our recent stay on Crooked Lake. The house is adorable, and on a nice, quiet road. The tree swing was a huge hit for my 4 and 7 year old. The house is well stocked and super cozy. We loved grilling, biking, swimming, boating, and exploring the area. We can’t wait to come back :) Thank you!!

Lovely lakehouse!

Wonderful house located on a huge quiet lot on Crooked Lake--across from a nature preserve so the view is perfect. The owner's have beautifully renovated and decorated the house. It is very bright, open and comfortable with lots of windows to look out on the lake. There's also a deck, large backyard and private dock where you can tie up a boat. Just a great home to spend some time relaxing and enjoying Crooked Lake. The house is fully equipped with a washer & dryer, a dishwasher and a gas fireplace --delightful for chilly mornings or evenings. The beds are very, very comfortable! Brad- the owner is responsive and easy to communicate with. We definitely plan to return soon!

Another relaxing week

This is the whole package for a relaxing week: quiet neighborhood, updated accommodations, responsive owner, beautiful lake view for morning coffee. The kayaks were a treat and the fire pit was a great way to enjoy the evening sunsets. The family vineyard nearby was an added bonus. We rented a boat from Windjammer marina for the week and were able to park it in the dock. Thank you Brad for another up rejuvenating week. It was just what we needed. We hope to replicate next year!

Great location and property

The house is beautiful and just as described, if not better. The big yard was great for games and the swing was a hit with the kids. We were able to get on the lake with the provided kayaks, and paddle board. The kids even got out in the row boat for a few hours and fished. We were grateful for the bikes and used them daily to go to Oden island, the winery down the way and to a fishing spot that the kids loved to visit. The house is very clean and has everything you need. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our group of 7. The location is great - being right on the lake but also in close proximity to Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Petoskey state park is nearby and is a beautiful spot as well. Overall great communication with the owner. Thanks for a great stay!

Enjoyable Early Summer Vacation @ Crooked Lake

The entire family enjoyed our stay at the Crooked Lake house. Lots of room inside, a beautiful backyard with walk-out access to the lake and dock. Additionally, we found the quick access to several restaurants, food stores, and downtown Petoskey very convenient. Brad was great to coordinate with - we look forward to returning next year!

Pretty house on Crooked Lake

The house has obviously been recently renovated and is bigger, brighter and nicer than the pictures show. Everything provided including kayaks, paddle boards, and bikes. Great big lawn in front is great for games, and there is plenty of sand for kids by the water. Easy access to Petoakey for shopping, restaurants, etc. The one thing that surprised us was just how shallow the lake is there - if you want to swim, it takes a really long time to walk out, and the bottom is not mucky but not sandy either; it’s a bit squishy. Putting steps at the end of the dock would be very helpful as there is no easy entry from the shore either. We have older kids so it was not a problem for us.

Great place

Outstanding place to stay. We have stayed at a lot of Vrbo properties and this was one of the best. Very clean, great views and the best sunsets over the lake. The place itself is nicer than the pictures. If you’re looking for a great place to stay in the area- look no further.

I Highly Recommend!

House was very clean and well supplied. Kitchen pans, cutlery, dishes, flatware, etc. are good quality. Gas fireplace was easy to use and warmed the house during cool evenings. Most appreciated was how the house was furnished - comfortable couches, chairs and beds, functional kitchen island, nice decorative features. This was one of the better VRBO properties we have rented in the area. Not to forget: Great lake view! Again, I highly recommend.

Great Relaxing Stay

The house was very clean. We really liked the updated renovations. Very well stocked kitchen with everything we could have hoped for and great spices. Our kids really enjoyed kayaking. Location between Petosky and Harbor Springs was great for day trips.

Wonderful lake stay

The place is exactly as advertised. Recently renovated on a great lake with comfortable decor. The access to the lake and surrounding towns can't be beat. I'd definitely stay there again. Only area that could be improved if the owner preferred communication via text vs email.

Beautiful Cottage and Lake

This is a comfortable, clean, bright and airy, beautifully decorated cottage. The kitchen has a nice gas stove and was very well-equipped. We enjoyed the big deck, kayaks, and fire pit right by the lake. We were there just off-season so we often had the lake to ourselves. It was easy to drive to Petoskey State Park, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and several wineries.

Really nice property with fantastic amenities

We had a great week at Crooked Lake; the fantastic location made an unseasonably cool week a non-issue with such a variety of things to do. Right at the cottage we enjoyed kayaking and bike rides to Oden Island; nearby offered great farmers markets, Petoskey State Park, and the towns of Petoskey and Harbor Springs. We also had a chance to rent a fishing boat and pontoon from the 2 marinas on the lake. The cottage was well apportioned, and the owner had it so well stocked - kayaks, paddle boards, lawn and camping chairs, floats and toys for the kids, even water skis and a water ski trainer. We’ve stayed at quite a few rentals, but this one had the best supply of so many things, that just made the trip easy and relaxing.

Great Cottage!

We had an amazing week at this adorable cottage! Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had anything you might need for cooking. We loved taking out the kayaks and paddle board and the rope swing was a big plus for the kids. Great location, not far from grocery stores, breweries/wineries. Enjoyed Petoskey Brewing and Burnt Marshmallow Brewing which are short drive away. Highly recommend renting a boat from Windjammer marina and taking the crooked river to Burt Lake, it’s a beautiful ride and the kids loved going through the locks and the swinging bridge. A picture perfect week in Northern Michigan, would highly recommend this lovely cottage!

Beautiful property

Beautiful property, lovely decor. Access to bikes, kayaks, and a charcoal grill was key. Close to so many attractions, grocery shopping, breweries. Super space, highly recommended! Great for kids!

Great Lake House!

A great week at this lake house. So mu Co fun for the kids and the adults. Nice location. With a short bike ride you can be at the nature preserve or a winery. Backyard rope swing was a hit for the kids. The house finishes are great and everything is there for you!

Beautiful home on Crooked Lake

This house on Crooked Lake is a wonderful rental property. Very clean & probably the best stocked kitchen we have ever had when renting- keurig coffee maker, plenty of dishes, pots & pans, spices etc. The property is beautiful with a large grassy lawn that goes right up to the lake & includes a hammock & an awesome tree swing the kids loved. The charcoal grill is easy to use & we enjoyed the large back deck. Plenty of bikes, kayaks, floats, etc that were all in very good condition. Interior of the home has been upgraded & comfortably sleeps a family of 5. There isn’t air conditioning but the owners had 3 fans that did a great job cooling the place down in the heat of July. The location to downtown Petoskey & the Petoskey State Park was super convenient. Fresh Market grocery store is nearby & we highly recommend Taski Sands for local white fish spread & great prices on adult beverages :). One thing to note, is that Crooked Lake is pretty shallow, so don’t expect to dive off the dock. The owners were very responsive & answered all of our questions & even accommodated our request to check in early. Overall we highly recommend this rental & give it 5 stars! Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!

Great Cottage

Couldn’t have been happier with this cottage. It was beautiful, clean and quiet, the kind of place you feel immediately at home. A little off the beaten path but only minutes away from everything.
