About this property

High Ridge cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains

This warm and cozy log-and-stone style cabin is located high in the Blue Ridge mountains at around 3,000 feet elevation. It is in the same area as the Shenandoah National Forest and this property borders the park land. Come and "get away from it all" in the mountains while not giving up any of your modern comforts! You may not see another human being for a half mile in any direction, but you'll see plenty of deer, bear, and wildlife! Inside the cabin, you'll find spacious living areas, comfortable bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and large HD televisions.

When you look up "remote getaway" in the dictionary, there's a picture of High Ridge! Come to rest, relax, have fun, and take pleasure in nature's finest wonders. Leave business, nagging emails, and your hectic work schedule behind for something quiet, peaceful, and relaxing!

This cabin is located "up Tanner's Ridge" as the locals say. In the pictures, you'll see two pictures showing the beautiful overlooks and mountains that you see as you drive to and from the cabin. You'll want to stop and get your own pictures on the drive.

Wonderful mountain getaway

Wonderful place to getaway and relax to. My husband and I liked the privacy but did not feel isolated. It was close enough to Shenandoah National Park. My dog loved it too! He was able to lay on the deck, that offered an expansive view of the ridgeline. Inside we enjoyed the fireplace often and found everything we needed in the accommodations. The hot tub was amazing and offered a wonderful place to unwind and look up at the stars.

Perfect Quiet Getaway

Great place. Secluded, quiet but comfortable. Breathtaking views. Be warned, the road leading up to the cabin is no joke. If there is any bad weather be very cautious but the road would not prevent me from renting this place again. Highly highly recommend.

Beautiful home away from home

What a perfect place! It was so quiet with spectacular views and an awesome hot tub nestled in the privacy of their yard. Home has everything you need to feel “at home” and still a scenic drive away from Shenandoah National Park.

Best cabin rental ever!

The High Ridge cabin is exquisite, It has everything you could possibly need and more! It is nestled in the mountain with a gorgeous view of the fall foliage. The large fire pit and hot tube made outside evenings most enjoyable. I would love to come back and stay here again! It is so clean and well equipped. Thank you so much!

Great Mountain Getaway

We needed a little get away from the hustle and bustle of working full time jobs and being full time caregivers to my parents. This was the perfect, secluded, getaway that we needed. Relaxation and comfort! This cabin had everything we needed with the modern accommodations we are accustomed to. We would book it again!

Great remote location with all the comforts of home

We booked last-minute for a relaxing weekend away, and this property did not disappoint. No problem finding the place with Waze, but there is no service for the last several miles - and we definitely made sure to pull up the navigation on Wifi before leaving the cabin so we could find our way out. We had complete privacy for our June stay with the leaves from the trees blocking the view of the distant neighbors. The hot tub was glorious after a long day of hiking in the Shenandoah. We absolutely loved our stay here - would definitely visit again.

Weekend Getaway

Came here for a weekend away during peak foliage. Beautiful secluded cabin. Kitchen very modern which was ideal as there isn’t much close by (>20min). Hour drive to gorgeous hikes (we did Big Schloss). Hot tub was a great touch. Will definitely be back

AWESOME Cabin!

The cabin was even better than expected. It was spotlessly clean and very well stocked. The highest praise, however, goes to management for their excellent communication. I'm so glad they gave us written directions becasue we lost cell coverage before we reached the top and could never have found it without their help.

S'mores and more!

This mountain hideaway is a treasure find. Located in the Shenandoah Valley with easy access to Luray Caverns, movies, restaurants, horseback riding, wineries, hiking, and more. We enjoy the comfortable hot tub every night and make s'mores in the campfire. The place is so serene, it is a pleasurable stress free getaway. My coworkers are jealous and I expect them to book this cabin soon.

Snowed In

The property was beautiful and looked exactly as it appeared in the description. It had nice new appliances and everything was nice and clean. It took us a while to figure out how to work the fireplace, but once we did the cabin was nice and toasty. The only downfall was that the hot tub was not working and available and that was what we were both looking forward to using. However, we enjoyed ourselves and this was a memorable experience. The views were gorgeous! We would live to have another visit here.

Cabin in the woods

I had the pleasure of staying at this cozy cabin for a peaceful and relaxing getaway from the big city. This little hideaway was the perfect place to do just that. The elegent rental has a full kitchen, fireplace, hot shower, TV, internet, a plethora of DVD moves, and a hot tub! I posted pbotos on facebook and instagram and all my friends were envious. The town of Luray is nearby and offers several dining choices. One place we enjoyed was the Gathering Grounds. The town has a walking trail next the stream that runs through it. We are already making plans of a return trip.

Great pet-friendly cabin

This place is great for a weekend retreat from the city, especially if you have dogs. The owners were very welcoming of our 100 lbs Bernese. The hot tub and fireplace were also huge perks! It's pretty isolated, but close enough to attractions like Luray. We ended up going to Third Hill Winery, which was about 30 minutes away, but worth the trek. The only downside, I'd say, is that it's pretty tight quarters and the walls are very thin, so if someone's up early in the kitchen, there's no way you're sleeping any later. That said, the living room area is very spacious.

Great little place with some drawbacks

The stay was very comfortable and the place was very clean and private. A couple of things that weren’t the best was the lack of any cell service and subpar Wi-Fi speed. We had to reset the router a couple of times during our stay because the internet stopped working. The location isn’t bad but even though it is listed as minutes from Shenandoah NP it really is an hour from either entrance and most hikes within the park. Overall I would recommend it but with some caveats.

High up away in the mountains

The last paved road up to the cabin is steep. The gravel road to get to cabin is a lot of fun to drive with 4wd. House is set away in the woods. Coffee, kitchen utensils, filtered water and i e machine (fridge) where stocked and I’m working order. Even had a crockpot. Used the hot tub. Nice way to ease into the morning. Was hoping to see wildlife, but was treated to nice views of the surroundings. In fall watch out for falling acorns.

Amazing property

My husband and I went away to celebrate our birthday. First impression, the grounds surrounding the property is absolutely stunning. The cabin is gorgeous. The newly remodeled kitchen was not only beautifully done, it had everything we needed for the weekend. We had our dog with us so the seclusion was perfect. We didn't see anyone all weekend. The hot tub never really got hot. The colder weather at night was horrible for getting out of a cold hot tub. We were rained in for 2 days and tried to play movies but there was a parental guidance password so the DVDs were out of the question. Gave us a lot of time to unwind inside. Overall it was a beautiful weekend.

Perfection.

Your Cabin was the site of the greatest vacation I've ever taken. Perfectly equipped with anything you could need, this home away from home combines all the necessities of a rustic Cabin with several luxuries. When the proprietors say you only need your food, clothes, and toiletries, they mean it. Ok -- maybe some cling wrap, but besides that, you're covered. We were perfectly equipped for a week hiking in Shenandoah Nat. Park, and slept well in your forest haven. In between, we enjoyed outdoor dinners on the picnic table, grilling on your charcoal grill, playing Guess Who until too late. Thank you for setting the scene for one of the greatest weekend retreats I've ever had.

Out dated

The cabin was pretty out dated. There was rain and one of the days we were without power for half of the day. Was offered a generator then told we had to wait. Power ended up coming back on before the generator was delivered. Lots and lots of bugs in the cabin. Hair and crumbs were in our bed. Had to rewash ever dish we wanted to use. Was charged for fire wood that we never used. Even if we tried to use it the pieces were so huge and soggy they wouldn’t have lit. The only nice thing was the hot tub. Not impressed at all.

Nice cabin but dated

My sister and I came for a girls' weekend in August, hoping to hike and enjoy the fabulous scenery of Shenandoah. The cabin was very sweet and in a lovely spot although altogether rather dated, and dusty/musty. The bedrooms felt very damp and the a/c unit in one of the rooms very old and noisy. The cabin was well equipped and had everything we needed. We didn't mind dated but it would have been nice if it had been a little cleaner (the fridge had a spill in it and had not been cleaned since the last visitors, pans were dirty, little piles of dust in the corners of the rooms, etc.) We had a lovely weekend although there were a few bits of information we wished we had known before we booked. We were a little surprised at the off road trail (about 20-30 mins of driving) we needed to take to get to the cabin. I do have a 4 wheel drive car but it would have been tricky if not. Also the cabin itself is located quite far from the entrances of the park, the nearest is Thornton Gap, and we did more driving than we initially thought we would need to.

A secluded mountain getaway

It was a pretty nice cabin. We were a last-minute booking and wanted something secluded, which is what we got with this place. No cell phone service meant a nice break from social media and emails, and also careful attention to the directions to the cabin that were emailed to us in advance. GPS doesn't work until you're on the main road. Make sure you have a car that can handle the steep and winding dirt road up to the cabin. The interior was pretty cozy, outdated but clean. I enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen, the gas fireplace, and the hot tub. We used the fire pit the first night but there were only about 4 logs (the listing mentioned how stocked with firewood it was). It rained the rest of the nights, so it ended up not mattering in the end. The management was very good about communication, although the checkout info came as an email (no cell service) so we didn't get it until after we left. Luckily we had already done what we were supposed to. Some of the little things that were off might have been because we booked so late, I don't know. The fall colors were beautiful and we certainly enjoyed our experience overall.
