Very poor communication from start to finish
OVERALL, we were dissatisfied with the poor communication, lack of welcome, inflexibility of the landlady, a serious fire safety issue, etc.
SAFETY – the bedside lights overheated. My toilet bag on the bedside locker burned after a few minutes under the light (at least 4in. above it), sending black fumes into the air as my husband slept.
COMMUNICATION – we booked & paid the deposit in March, the balance in Nov. On 16 Dec, I got a demand to pay the full rental amount “to confirm your booking”. This was consistent with several previous communication failures which had led to many sleepless nights through the year.
MISREPRESENTATION OF FACILITIES – an outline diagram on the website clearly depicts 4 toilets. There are only 2!
WELCOME – As advised we phoned the landlady to meet her on our arrival, but she told us she would not meet us, and we had to go to the agents, giving us the address. They were the wrong agents and knew nothing about us. Frantic phone call got us sorted, but it took at least an hour extra in getting into the apartment. The landlady, refused to budge in our check-out time (10am) at the end of the week. Also, the landlady did not speak English, which posed us minor difficulties.
LACK OF HELP with facilities – We were not familiar with the induction hob as we tried to cook dinner on our first night and breakfast the next day. Messages to the agent for help (we thought it was faulty) went unanswered until late the second day. Too late & no help offered.
