The back area, surrounded by mature Jeffrey pines, is peaceful and relaxing with easy access to the golf course path.

Dock details: There is a private dock at the Tahoe Donner Marina. Please bring your guest access cards. A $17 per person/per day fee applies. Public docks are located along Donner Lake on Donner Pass Road.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Cute property

Lovely smaller sized house with a great location close to Truckee. Much enjoyed the hot tub, air hockey table and pool table. I would bring your own condiments for cooking (no salt to be found) and your own shampoo and conditioner (only tiny packets of powder versions are provided). Otherwise the other issues people mentioned didn't bother us (no locks on door, etc). Enjoyed the house and would rebook this property if available.

Lovely Home with a collection of small fixes

Starting with some positives: they were lovely and let us check in early. Checkout was great! Maybe 4-5 easy things to do like start the dishwasher, take sheets off bed etc. Great WiFi with no issues. Easy access to snow play right outside the back of the house. The HOA plowed the driveway one of the days which was fantastic. Nice newer towels and plenty of them. A few snow toys for the kiddos. Plenty of board games. Then a bunch of small issues that are easily fixable: not enough paper towels, shampoo/conditioner, mixing bowls, Tupperware/food storage. The knives were super dull. There isn’t a lock on the upstairs bathroom door which is awkward with multiple families staying. It would’ve been nice to have the back deck cleared of snow to enjoy the hot tub and get down the deck for snow play. A few throw blankets in the living room area would be nice. The snow fall on the 2nd morning wasn’t too bad but if it had snow a lot then we would’ve had a rough time getting out of the driveway. The HOA didn’t clear the driveway on the 2nd morning. If you’re staying, bring more paper towels, zip loc bags, food storage containers, soap/shampoo. The floor is slippery so we had the kids barefoot. I wish I had brought grippy socks. We enjoyed our time but aren’t sure if we’d stay again because of all of the small issues.

Great family ski house!

We had a wonderful time at the Acorn House. The pool / ping pong table was a hit with the kids. The sunny deck and hot tub was a lovely way to relax after a day of skiing. Overall it was a great stay!

Weekend stay

Property was in a great location, right off the golf course. Close to ski areas and swimming pools and gym. Hot tub was great. Place was clean, plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable, However, kitchen items such as knives, pots, paper products were sub-par for this type of property and cost. Also, the outside, bear-proof garbage storage was full, so we could not remove garbage to the outside. Perhaps pick up company missed a run. These are minor fixes.

Iconic Mountain Getaway

Clean, well laid-out mountain getaway that met all of our vacation rental goals including fireplace and hot tub. It was well stocked with quality cooking tools and basic supplies which we greatly appreciated. It had endless entertainment options for kids of all ages, also greatly appreciated. Though the larger beds were not the most comfortable this house remains a fabulous find, especially for families.

Family Trip

The place was ok . My kids really like the pool table and air hockey. We did enjoy the hot tub, and being able to take a walk on a path in the back was the golf course. However, with that said, the place was a little off with no locks on any of the doors . Only one bathroom. The kitchen was not very functional, had to improvise with my meals, no mixing bowls, steak knives, to name a few. Make sure you bring extra blankets , and toilet paper. Was not informed that you had to bring your own TP . The temp in the house was either cold or too hot . Would not just stay comfortable. Would I stay there again , probably not . But it was nice .

Almost Perfect Stay!

Loved our stay at this cabin. Place had everything we needed: shampoo, soap, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, glasses, toaster, coffee maker, seasonings, necessities like oil, sugar and even filtered water. Dishwasher and washer both also had soap. We’re a family of four so there was more than enough space, beds and towels. What we enjoyed: - The pool/air hockey/ping-pong table. This gave us lots of entertainment for hours. - The hot tub. Used it out first night only because although it was nice on a cold night, water was just warm and not hot. - The pickleball court in the Clubhouse. They actually closed the courts for the season but since we brought our own equipment, they let us use the two courts. - Warmth. The cabin heating system worked well. At times it was actually too hot so we had to turn it way down at night. - Fireplace. The cabin provided the firewood so we used it our last night. It provided extra heat in the living room. - Downtown Truckee. We were 10 min away from town. - VACASA customer service was attentive 24/7 What we did not like: - The description of the cabin showed a gas grill so we bought meat and vegetables to grill but the grill was in the garage and not setup at all so we just used the stove / oven to cook our Thanksgiving meal. - The Trout Rec Center was accessible to us but the cost was $20/person per day. This would’ve given us access to the heated pool and gym but since we didn’t need to use either, it was not a big loss.

Dream Winterwonderland Cabin

Great cabin!

Nice layout, very clean, backed up to a snow covered golf course. Great location. Check in is 4pm and check out is an early 10am. Stove not working and we were informed a couple of hours before our stay, so on route and food was packed to cook. A small $25 night credit was given for 8 people. They had good communication. Otherwise, we loved it.

Great House

We had a great time staying at the Acorn house! Kids had fun playing air hockey, and loved the bunk beds! They also decorated the Christmas tree (sorry if we were not allowed to do that) The house was clean and stocked with essentials. There are absolutely no complaints! We would definitely come back in the future.

Warmth and Beauty

This house has many great qualities but, mind you there are some tricks to this house too. When you first pull up in front of the property. It is surrounded by other houses, the driveway is quiet narrow in the winter from all the snow. But, the shear beauty of the house and the neighborhood. Is amazing, and it takes away from the dull facts I just brought up 2 sentences ago. As you get situated in the driveway. You’ll notice it is very difficult getting a car in the garage without hitting something. Parking in there isn’t really an option. Once you’re situated, and get out. You’ll notice how quiet the neighborhood actually is. As you’re walking towards the front door. You’ll find yourself enjoying the trees surrounding the house. When you enter, there are signs posted for no shoes, at almost every room. None the less though. This house was very well insulated and warm. Easy to use thermostat and efficient appliances. Coat racks galore and, shoe racks and mats by the front door, and back door. The game room is upstairs and be careful with the pool table. It was very difficult to get it to lock and stay put. Parts of it are broken and, since it’s a 2-in-1 game table. The air hockey table is on the bottom side. Both tables work great, just hard to deal with when the latches are broke. Then our favorite bedroom is also upstairs with what we think was the softest most comfortable bed. The construction work done here was also just as you would expect. Amazing, with pebbles in the walls and the floor. Slate and a big soaking tub. Downstairs the kitchen is small but efficient. Not a whole lot of counter space, but enough to make due with some light cooking. Every drawer and cabinet is labeled. The hot tubs keys are hanging up by the kitchen electrical socket. Which that works great too. Unlocking the hot tub when freezing outside. Is not the most fun the lock gets frozen shut. In the living room the wood stove has wood outside under the deck. No kindling, had to buy firestarter sticks, and no lighter or matches. Looking out the back to the trees is really peaceful and relaxing. It very comfortable and homie.

Inconsistent Quality

Pros: House is well located in Tahoe Donner/ Truckee area convenient to restaurants, markets, etc. Good layout of rooms. Plenty of extra towels and sheets. Backyard faces a golf course so during winter it was a great, private snow play area. Cons: House took 3 hours to heat up, hot water (for showers) ran out everyday, arm rail to living room broken and unsafe, microwave door handle broken, game table (pool table and air hockey) broken and unsafe for kids, does NOT have two queen beds rather one room has two twins pushed together. Kitchen missing basic items such as salt, pepper, saran wrap, aluminum foil, pots & pans dirty and scratched up. Overall, property felt like it is in need of update and repair.

Missing upstairs bedroom door, mattress on the floor instead of queen bed

Filthy cabin, the rugs were covered in crumbs, and entire cabin was covered in spider webs and huge spiders everywhere. Kid could not sleep upstairs because of it. NO PRIVACY because the door to the 2nd bedroom upstairs is gone. It didn't even have a queen bed! There was a twin bed and a twin size mattress on the floor, with a large blanket covering both. How is a couple suppose to sleep on that? My husband couldn't even fit on the twin bed by himself because he is 6 2"! Jets do not work in the jacuzzi. BBQ is filthy. We left one night early to sleep at home because our stay was horrible. This cabin is the worst I've ever been to and I've been to many in Truckee.

Good amenities, but not prepped for Arrival and Unusable hot tub

First off, the positives: Modern kitchen (big fridge, gas oven, BBQ, tools, plates, etc). Clean bathroom, plenty of towels, toiletries provided. Negatives: The unit clearly had not been prepped for our arrival. Dust had settled and a few cobwebs were apparent. Also the heat was off, so for 2 HOURS we had to wear our jackets and keep our shoes on as the hardwood was too cold to stand on. The biggest negative was that we had booked this unit bc it had a private hot tub. Both nights we were unable to get it over 95F so we didnt get to take advantage of this feature which was our main reason for booking.
