Great house, near water. Very accommodating host. Big enough for all 7 of us. Comfortable. Walk to the water was great! Lots of room to park 5 cars. Unfortunately it rained so we didn’t have the opportunity to use the fire pit but we definitely would have.
Located on a beautifiul countryside road, this home had everything we needed for our stay. It was the perfect location for privacy and rest during our visit for the annual Ironman event, yet close enough to all of the necessary conveniences of town. The home was more spacious than shown in the photos. We would highly encourage others to make this home their quiet get-away.
We loved the grill off the back porch, and even though we didn't have time to enjoy it, the fire pit area is a delightful bonus.
Kelly was the helpful and friendly person to care for everything, especially when you are in a new place. We would love to have the opportunity to return!
The property is great and very private. The manager responds very quickly to our needs like for instance they bought a new coffee pot and fly squatter and Crab pot when we need it. However the property decoaration is just too plain
Let me start with what is right. And there is a LOT right. This property was spotless...I mean you could eat off the floor spotless. There is nothing that makes or breaks a rental for me more than this. The home is beautiful with minimalist decorating (something else I prefer). GORGEOUS breakfast view from either porch and lovely fire pit. Grill was stocked with propane. Plenty of clean towels and linens. Plus they allowed us to park our fifth wheel on the property, even assisted us in backing it in, which kept us (full timers) from having to pay a campground just to leave it sit vacant. Caretakers were responsive, even on Thanksgiving day when we texted with a question. The maintenance building is extremely close to the home. No bother to us as very few people were there during the Thanksgiving holiday, but I could see where this would feel invasive during a regular work week. Would suggest some strategically placed planks/boardwalk to the fire pit and around the yard to help with marshy walking. Now all else I’ll say, in all fairness, was fully disclosed, but feel compelled to mention a few things. We were six adults and a dog, and after fees and taxes we paid nearly double the "average price per day" amount shown on VRBO. Even though we knew this, signed all the paperwork, etc., it felt exorbitant after it sank in. Also -prefacing by saying they waived hours on our request, on the check-in day - the check in time of 5PM and check out of 10AM is too restrictive. The property is in a very unlighted, backroads area, and having guests trying to find it after dark in the winter is a bit hazardous. Again all these things were clearly disclosed, and are more shame on us, than shame on them, but I felt they are important to point out to future guests. I hope the owners of this lovely property aren’t offended by my honesty here. Would we stay again? Definitely...but going in with eyes open.
Nice and clean house, well-equipped. Far away from everything, including the sea and beaches, so be prepared for a few dates of pleasant isolation. Internet connection is bad. Should consider a good internet streaming connection, which would add to the possibilities to a more pleasant and resourceful vacation.
We came here For a very long weekend, in the midst of a pandemic. Kelly , the property manger was helpful and responsive. The house is quite comfy and allows good privacy. A car needed for whereabouts. Among the various places we visited, we ( including our dog) enjoyed wandering in the little town of Oxford, the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge , the Choptank River Fishing Piers state park and finding Harriet Tubman’s childhood place. Museum closed due to pandemic, unfortunately.
We had a nice time here. Loved the grill. Appreciated the responsiveness of Kelly. The kids loved the hose outside. The porches were great. It is a good space for kids—very low key and rustic furniture. We went to swim at Cove Rd and Assateague on different days which was awesome. Great break!
We had an excellent experience at the Outrigger at Swan Cove Manor. The property grounds are beautiful and well kept. The home was well appointed. Kelly was so friendly and quickly answered all of our questions and tended to our needs l- a true customer oriented professional. If you are looking for a quiet retreat on the eastern shore - look no further!
Came to celebrate my brother's upcoming wedding with 6 other guys. We had a great time, lots of outdoor space (which was great for social distancing!), some of us slept in tents outside to be cautious. Nice fire pit, grill, we just had a great time. Very relaxing.
Kelly, the property manager, was great, and the property was very clean, which is particularly important to us in the time of COVID-19. But the pictures on VRBO were out of date, so our expectations were different than the reality. One of the AC units was not working correctly, and Kelly was unable to correct the problem during our holiday weekend stay, though she did provide fans to try and keep us comfortable. She did make sure we had enough seating at the table for our family of 7, and the fire pit was an unexpected bonus. She was also very nice to our small grandson and our dogs. This home is also very close to the Swan Cove maintenance facility. While all the staff were very respectful of our privacy, it was a little disconcerting. Overall we were disappointed in the house, but not with the service of the staff.
Property was clean and people are friendly. If you're looking for escape on the eastern shore, this is a great place to consider.
There were issues with some kitchen items not being present and some maintenance issues with the property. When I raised it with the property manager, - they were pretty promptly addressed.
