Secluded Lakefront Retreat on 7 acres on Lake Quinault
A very private home on Lake Quinault, the south entrance to the Olympic Peninsula National Park and just a few miles away from the famous Lake Quinault lodge and rainforest.
This home is perfect for a family retreat in the woods without sacrificing comforts of home. An open floor plan on the main floor with a complete guest suite and kids bunk room downstairs. Open loft master suite allows for lake views and a true cabin feel. Decks surround the house; enjoy the outdoors with a glass of wine overlooking the lake.
Amazing fishing right from the beach or go for a sunset paddle. Home has two double kayaks [available from May to September*] and is outfitted with all kinds of games for family fun (giant jenga, puzzles). Kitchen has everything you would need to cook your favorite family recipes or to grill up the trout you catch. Brand new kitchen appliances (fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher) just installed.
Just a mile into the small town of Amanda Park which sports a mercantile store (get all your groceries and your fishing license here), an internet cafe and a great little pizza joint/pool hall.
No better place to get away from it all and create amazing family memories.
There are two double kayaks and two kids sit on top kayaks available for guest use during the Spring and Summer*. There is also a good selection of life vests from kid size to adult (located in the storage bench in the breezeway).
* Due to rising level of the lake during the Fall and Winter months, it is not safe to kayak in Lake Quinault. Kayaks and paddleboard are available from May to September.
If you wish to bring your own water craft: Note that any boat, kayak or paddle board must be inspected before it can be used in the Lake Quinault. ***CURRENTLY ALL LAKE QUINAULT PERMIT/INSPECTION OFFICES ARE CLOSED***

we go to the house to spend three days fishing in t he area. The weather in March is still cold but the house is warm, inviting and has a complete kitchen conducive to cooking. Very highly recommend
This property was amazing. The house has everything you could need. Was plenty big could have had more friends come with us. Would definitely stay here again in the summer time.
Residence was all we had hoped. Excellent ambience, spacious for our group of four adults, well located for visiting the southwest area of Olympic National Park.
The house is on a gorgeous property right on Lake Quinault. Easy access to drive to local attractions on the coast and in the forest. The house itself was very clean, spacious, and well stocked with everything we needed.
What a great place to stay on the Olympic Peninsula! We were only there for a short visit but sure wish we were able to stay longer… beautiful views from every window, fully equipped kitchen and lots of room for everyone. We had s’mores with a fire on the deck and even managed to squeeze in a paddle early morning with the kayaks- great stay!
I spent a wonderful week at this house. The pictures don’t do the location justice, the view from the porch has to be seen to be appreciated. Very quiet and peaceful, I spent the evenings watching the sun set while otters and loons did their evening fishing out on the lake. Highly recommended, I’ll be back for sure.
Two families of four stayed comfortably in this beautiful secluded home right on Lake Quinault. There was plenty of room for everyone, comfortable bedding, well stocked kitchen, kayaks for the lake, many beautiful outdoor spaces to take in the view. Really exceptional! We all hope to come back again.
This home was perfect to spend 4 nights over the holiday. Cozy. Beautiful design. Wood fireplace. Excellent kitchen. And the view!!!Would love to come back in the summer when you can get out on the lake.Lost power twice because of high winds and intense rains. The owner tells you up front this is a thing for the area. We brought water jugs, candles, and extra wood, so we were prepared for short outages.
Trout House is a great property. Lots of room to spread out, and a nice kitchen area to gather to play cards, eat, drink, and laugh. The view of the lake is lovely and the house is well stocked with games, bedding, towels (including for the lake and fur friends), and kitchen supplies. This is the cleanest vacation rental we have ever stayed in. Thank you.
We loved staying here. The location is amazing, so nice and quiet that it feels like you have the lake all to yourself.
House was comfortable, well stocked and clean. Would love to come back again.
What a cool place! We spent 4 nights in the Trout House and it was perfect. We travel with a large crew...5 kids and 2 dogs...but, we had plenty of space and lots to do. The kitchen was very well-stocked and we used it a lot. The beds were very comfortable and the location was stunning! We were a quick 10 minute drive from great hiking, which we took full advantage of. We played lots of games and watched movies in the bunk room. We were even surprised in the early mornings by a herd of elk hanging out in the yard above the house. The kids cant wait to come back in the summer!
This place was absolutely beautiful and the surroundings majestic! Right on the water with kayaks and chairs on the beach. A great place for friends to stay and catch up on life. Three bedroom, each with its own bathroom which is perfect for couples!!
Wow - what a fabulous place. Right on the lake with views for days, total seclusion, dog-friendly. We spent a week there late November and the weather was fantastic, no rain (but chilly!). Did a lot of hiking, cruising around, beach-combing, reading, art projects, cooking, and playing games. No TV for the week! What a wonderful break! Highly recommend, and we plan to go back. The area is really cool and there is so much to explore. The house is very comfortable, great beds and fully stocked kitchen (although I brought my own turkey roaster pan).
This was our third stay here. The location quiets the noise of everyday life, and the house feels like home. This is where I go in my thoughts during the bustle of the rest of the year.
this was the perfect location to explore the quinault area and to head up to ruby beach, another of our favorite spots. beautiful home with such privacy, right on the lake. kayaking was definitely a highlight—could not be a more peaceful place. also a wonderfully stocked kitchen! thanks so much for hosting! highly recommend!
Such a wonderful & peaceful location. Nature lovers would enjoy this stay, even in the rainy season. Beautiful home, we just liked being cozy watching the river. 😊

We are a family of 5 that loves to travel and has stayed at over 50 vrbo properties all over the world. So when we bought a lake house in the Olympic Peninsula rainforest we knew we had to share it with other families.
Why they chose this property
We love lakes! And Lake Quinault is beyond beautiful and peaceful. The house is on 7 acres and you may stay for a week and not see another soul on this part of the lake. Easy access to the Washington coast and great rainforest hikes.
