The perfect stay

Finley's Cabins are just far enough from yown to be quiet and relaxing, but close enough to walk or bike into town to enjoy it all. LARGE, updated, spacious cabins and a nice driveway for kids to ride bikes and play. Love the charcoal grill, table with chairs and umbrella out back to eat meals at, good shade but also nice sun balance. 5 minute drive to Hartwick Pines, Lake Margrethe, Camp Grayling, etc., walking paths to the river and canoe/kayak launch, benches and table/chair setups for relaxing on the water... Owners are on site, responsive, friendly, accommodating.

Cozy, newly remodeled cabins

The place cabin was quiet, clean, with a pretty view of the river. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen was equipped so that we could cook food that we brought. It's very close to Northbound Outfitters (Cross Country Ski Shop) and town. It's also close to several good cross country ski venues.

Excellent Lodging!

Finley's is an Class A lodging facility with clean rooms and excellent customer service and hospitality! Location is excellent, centrally located to ski and play Hanson Hills; walk to town and Outfitters store and an easy 10-15 drive to Forbush Corners Nordic Center and Hartwick Pines State Park! I will be going back for sure to stay for more winter and possibly summer adventures! - Rob

Fantastic place...we'll definitely return!

Our family just returned from a 5 day/4 night visit at Finley's and already are planning our return. Very nice folks that own the facility, the grounds were well-kept and family friendly, to include a fire pit, lit trails, and visits from a deer and several types of squirrels. The owners provide kayaks and canoes for all to use and there is a fishing shop two doors over from the site where we were able to get bait to fish for fishing in the river. There's also a bike rental shop right next door to the site, but unfortunately, they were out of bikes during our visit, so be sure to plan ahead. The cabin was cozy and welcoming, and stocked with everything we could need while traveling...all we had to do was stop in town for groceries and we were all set! There is a grill, picnic table, umbrella, and clothesline outside each cabin, and the internet connection was strong enough to let mom get homework done and family movie time to stream from our computer through the flat-screen TV. There is a neat little Main Street with fun shops right around the corner and a delicious BBQ/Blues place right on the river with lots of outdoor seating. Everyone in our family, including our two dogs, had a wonderful time, and we're so glad we found Finley's!

Thoughtful touches throughout

This was a clean cabin with one open room with two double beds and a kitchen. There was also a bathroom with a shower. The grounds were lovely, and a great place to walk the dogs.

4 words: fleece sheets & zucchini bread

Four words: fleece sheets and zucchini bread. If those two things don't make you feel right at home and cozy in the wintertime, I don't know what will! This property had amazing views, was impeccably maintained, meticulously clean, and completely stocked with all the essentials for our family of four plus 2 pups. We've stayed in a good handful of vrbo properties, and so far this one is at the top of the top! No details were overlooked when it came to cleanliness and comfort. Our trip to Grayling was over a holiday weekend so that we could introduce our teens to skiing and to enjoy a day of sledding at Hanson Hills nearby (less than 2 miles from the property). Our 3 night/4 day trip was cut one day short due to a ski injury, but when it came time to communicate with the property owners, they were super helpful and accommodating. Overall, if I could give this property and stay a 10 out of 10 even despite our early departure, I would! Brenda, we are already planning to make a future trip to your property on one condition: MORE DELICIOUS ZUCCHINI BREAD!! Lolol! I'm serious though. We really enjoyed your property (and your homemade bread)!! Thanks again for the wonderful stay!

Grayling MI vacation

The Finley cabins are more spacious than a hotel/motel room, clean and well stocked with what you need from an efficiency kitchen. A big plus is that they’re also pet friendly. Nice grounds with many different places to sit and enjoy views of the Au Sable river.

Great base camp - cozy and clean

The hosts, Brenda and Phil, are wonderful - and so is the location. Beautiful river views and even cleared winter pathways along the river, open for guests. We stayed in February for a weekend of snowshoeing at Hartwick Pines State Park (10 minute drive). Upon arrival, Brenda made sure we were aware of other local activities, including a sunset/ full moon snowshoe outing just down the road at Hansen Hills (5 minute drive). The area is an outdoor persons dream! If you're looking for a place to recharge so you can get back out at it the next day, the cabins have all the necessities, including a comfy mattress! We'll definitely stay again. Looking forward to visiting in other seasons as well!

Winter stay

We enjoyed our stay at Finley’s cabin F . Came up to cross country ski at forbush and try downhill at treetops. Good location as a home base and so convenient to have Northbound outfitters within steps of the cabin. Our hosts were very kind and gave our son sleds to play with . Cabin was cozy. Given we have teens I think we’ll need a two bedroom next time. Nice kitchen and well equipped! Very reasonable. Water in shower was nice and hot!!!

Perfect fit

We really enjoyed our stay at Finley’s. The cabin was updated inside. Very clean and new looking. Beds were comfortable. The outdoor view by the river is unique. Phil and Brenda are very friendly and accommodative. We used the kayaks, Phil trailered them and our float down the river was great. Highly recommend!

We have been working hard renovating these cabins for your enjoyment. We moved up to Grayling in 2017 to be near our Grandchildren. All those years of being a residential builder has really paid off during our retirement years. There were many of those skills used to renovate the cabins.
